Hey readers, my name is Wave. I've fought for the imperial navy as a true man of the sea! Presently, I'm on my way to join a special police force being put together by the empire. It's kind of a promotion.

For my first time in the imperial city, I wanted to make a flashy entrance. I even decided on these clothes because they make me look so cool!

Oh right, you guys don't know what I am talking about. I am wearing a blue leather jacket and a red scarf with an anchor on it. Under that is a white shirt with a single blue line down the middle. I am also wearing a pair of grey jeans with a belt and dark blue boots. So, I am cool, right?

I was greatly admired in my hometown, the assortment of seafood I am carrying… Is a memento forced on me by my mom. But for some reason, I get the feeling everyone is giving me furtive glances… Maybe I'm doing something improper or something?

*Sigh* Whatever… I'm a man who has fought pirates and sea monsters! I can't let these little unimportant things bother me!! So, for starting things, I am heading to the palace.

Soon, I smoothly reached the room where the meeting place should be. Because the people in here are going to be my teammates from now on, the first impression is crucial. So in order to not be taken lightly, let's do this!

I grasped the handle of the door and opened, before shouting.

Wave: Good afternoon! I've come from the imperial navy, I'm Wa…

...There was only a muscular figure wearing a gas mask and white pants observing me in silence… 

Wave: Pardon my intrusion.

I closed the door immediately and sat down in the floor while taking deep breaths.

Wave: Ummm… This room belongs to the office of torture then? Haha… Guess I mixed up the rooms.

Then I took out a paper with the address written in and started to read it.

Wave: But, the meeting place is supposed to be in… The special police conference room.

I checked once again the tag over the door, and confirmed that this was the room, cold sweat flew down from my forehead as a thought passed through my mind. 

Wave: 'Which means that's one of my co-workers?! What a place the capital is! Nowadays, pirates look more normal than the people here!! For the time being, I need to keep positive and conduct myself well…'

I opened the door again and greeted again, even if with some fear in my voice, afraid of the man in the corner of the table.

Wave: G-Good afternoon.

I reached the table and sat on the opposite corner of the table, but I still feel a creepy pair of eyes staring at me…

Wave: *Gulp* 'Hey hey… What's with this guy…?! That guy has just been staring at me this whole time!! This sucks, mom, I already want to go home! This city already has me at my wits end!!!'

The sound of the door opening interrupted my prayers, and I glanced at the third person in the room. She has short black hair in a twintail style and black eyes. She was wearing a black sailor uniform and a red belt that has a red side skirt. 

Wave: '...A… A normal girl!'

The girl sat on the seat in front of me and took out a bag of sweets. Then she ate them, ignoring the atmosphere in the air.

I stood up from my chair and went beside her, with hope filling my heart.

Wave: H-Hey. 

The girl turned towards me while holding a candy on her mouth.

Wave: Are you a Teigu user that was summoned here as well? Nice to meet you, I'm Wave-

?: You can't have any of my candy.

She interrupted me while hugging her candies as if the bag was her own daughter… She's sort of strange too…

Wave: Sorry to bother you.

I turned back to my seat with an embarrassed expression…

Wave: 'Shit… What's with this situation!? One just sits there eating candy after candy, you're gonna get cavities you know!! Damn! And this one just sits there staring at me. What's his deal?'

*BAM!*

Suddenly, the door was slammed open, revealing Seryu Ubiquitous holding a bouquet of roses with her dog Koro.

Seryu: Pardon me!

She stomped the ground and made a military greeting, before shouting with excitation.

Seryu: I've been reassigned from the capital defense forces. I am Seryu Ubiquitous! And this is Koro!

Wave: 'Ohh… This one seems normal enough!'

Then she unexpectedly threw her bouquet in air, making petals of roses fall in the ground, before she and Koro placed themselves at the sides of the door and crouched down.

Seryu: Dr. Stylish, the preparations are finished!!

From the door, a weird tall man with spiky black hair with a white patch and blue eyes, wearing glasses, a yellow suit with a blue shirt, a tie, and a white lab coat entered the room in the middle of the raining roses.

Dr. Stylish: First impressions are important… And would of course be important to a stylish man like myself.

Wave: 'This time it's a crazy homo?!'

Dr. Stylish noticed me, and said while sizing me up.

Dr. Stylish: Oh dear. On first look, you're clearly a country-boy, but you're actually kind of good looking. I can make you even better looking. Let's get along well, okay?

Wave: 'And he seems… To have taken a liking to me…'

The next moment, another person entered in the room, it was a young man with fair blond hair and golden eyes. He was wearing a white robe on top of a black shirt and pants with a brown belt, a feather pin behind his ear and a collar-like accessory on his neck, he was also carrying a book.

?: Good afternoon. It looks like I'm the last to arrive.

I slightly raised my head in exasperation and greeted, another crazy one is here…

Wave: Hey, nice to meet you, I'm Wave…

Surprisingly, the man just smiled at me and said.

?: I'm Run. It's a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you.

I quickly grasped the young man's hands, like he was my last hope.

Wave: 'Finally in the end a normal person has come!!'

And then, the muscular masked man arrived in the table with hot tea, I didn't noticed he was gone until he spoke.

?: Everyone… I've made some tea.

Everyone sat down as the man distributed a cup of tea for everyone, when the man was giving the cup of tea to me, he started to speak behind his gas mask.

?: I must apologize. It is our first meeting, and yet I didn't greet you… I have a fear of strangers, you see… I was nervous. I most likely have the most seniority here… And yet I act like that! Let's get along as fellow Teigu using warriors. I'm Bols, from the incineration squad.

Wave: Haha… 'H-He has a fear of people with that appearance…?'

Meanwhile, I somehow could feel the homo's gaze on us… God knows what he is thinking about.

Dr. Stylish: 'The incineration squad… A unit that will stylishly scorch anything, be it man or thing… I see, that's why he has that look, huh. He's definitely not my type…'

As things were getting quite peaceful here, I heard the knob of the door moving, and the door opened, letting a light blue haired masked woman in. Strange, there are only 6 seats, so...

Wave: Eh… Who's that?

?: I don't recognize any of you! What are you doing in this room?!

Wave: Hey now. We were called here for a special as-Oof!

Fast! She was really fast! She immediately gave me a kick, fortunately I instinctively blocked it or I would have been knocked out!

?: Your opponents will be assassins… Always be on your guard!

I didn't know what was happening precisely, since I was still recovering from that hard kick, but it seems that everyone else started to fight the woman.

After some shocks and mid-fight conversation, everyone seemed to be stopping while Bols yelled, surprised.

Bols: Gen… General Esdeath!!

I slowly sat up while c.a.r.e.s.sing my c.h.e.s.t.

Wave: Damn, that hurt. 'Even the boss is a weird one?!'

We were all wearing a suit as we were following our new leader.

Esdeath: Were you surprised by my little game? Much better than the normally droll welcoming reception, wouldn't you say?

Wave: I'm used to being treated rough.

Seryu: Thank you for the lesson, Ma'am.

Esdeath: Okay then! We'll have a party after our audience with his Majesty.

Oh, I see, we will see the em…!

Wave: Wha-We're suddenly going to meet with the emperor?! What a fast paced schedule for the first say!

Esdeath: I like to get the annoying things out of the way first, you would rather handle your self-introductions next time, right?

Wave: Next time?

Dr. Stylish: Esdeath, before that. Should we not decided on a name for our team?

The general seemed to be thinking about it before she grinned.

Esdeath: Umu! We are a unique force within the military. Organized and tasked to mercilessly hunt down and eliminate atrocious group of enemies… Therefore, we will be the special police force, known as "Jaegers".
