The Lost Chronicles Of Pangea: Apocalypse

Chapter 41 - Dark Reunion (II)

David felt his heart skip multiple beats as terror slowly began to creep and inch up his spine. His left eye tingles and began to water as a connection was formed between him and hulking beasts standing a few meters away from him. She had grown bigger than the last time he saw her, at most she was half the size of a house, now she was as big as a house and as long as a school bus. Her yellows eyes looked more sinister and her scales seemed to glow under the moon lit sky.

"You look Good David the destroyer."

David was startled by the voice, for a moment he thought it was the lizard talking, but thankfully it was not. Instead it had another human host, an eight year old girl from the looks of things, however this girl hardly looked human anymore.

The yellow scales had spread through the entirety of the left side of her body. Her hair on the left side of her head was all gone, and everything was scaled giving her a terrifying depiction of some sort of lizard human being. But unlike last time with Ahmed, there was a distinct lack of rot or pus. The girl looked fairly normal, if you excluded the fact that she was now literally a half lizard person thing.

"Um.....you look good too...lizard."

"Ahmevid."

"What?"

"My name is Ahmevid."

"Wow, that's.....that's um.....that's a good name…..it's a very good name…..very good."

It was without question that David was quite panicked right now, this creature had been a constant bad luck in his side since he woke up a twin of himself. He has had to go through a lot of really gut shaking and painful experience at the expense of this monster. He should be angry, but right now the only thing he could be right now was scared. For f.u.c.ks sake this thing was now capable of having a conversation with him. David had seen a demon as tall as a mountain, he had seen hordes of the undead that will definitely give the resident evil franchise a run for their money, and he had in one night gone from being an ordinary guy, to a person capable of telepathy. But this lizard took the gild medal for weird out of all his experiences.

It was as if every time he met the damn beast it got stronger and stronger, and it won't stop hunting him. The last time David met this lizard he left it stuck behind an impenetrable barrier and on a sinking island. But now here they were, in a good old Mexican standoff.

"You should come with me."

"Err why would I do that?"

David asked with a confused look on his face.

"We're connected now you and I. I can feel you inside of me, and I'm sure you can feel me inside you."

David was horrified.

"No one is inside anybody, you're definitely not inside me and you're not getting in.....oh my God how can you be so perverted."

David involuntary clenched his b.u.t.t cheeks together at the thought of anything, much less a lizard getting inside him. Of course David knew that was not what she meant, but its hard to not think differently when she phrased it that way. It was just so gross.

David moved back a few steps closer to the cruiser while keeping an eye on his current enemies.

"I'm sorry Urr...Ahmevid was it? But I can't go anywhere with you. However I can promise you that someday I will cut off your scaly head and present it to Lilith as our wedding gift, or an anniversary, which ever one comes first."

With his part said, David swiped his hand over a panel on the back of the cruiser's bay doors. There was a hiss as the bay doors began to open, however Ahmevid had already given the order, and those beasts were heading straight for them. David opened fire on them, but without properly aiming, all his bullets did was to bounce off their bone covered frame. That natural armor on their body will make it very hard if not outright impossible to cause them any damage.

And even with the bay doors open, David he had enough time to get himself and tortoises inside before they were set upon by these armored bone hounds. 'that's a good name'. As David was beside himself with worry, still trying to use his bullets to slow them down while also moving backward into the cruiser. Of course all his efforts were to no avail, as he could not even concentrate with that lizard in the background. Just when David thought he was done for, Vidi stepped forward, and his entire body went through an instant transformation that scared the hell out of David.

His entire shell suddenly changed, becoming crystalline green, the same crystals grew out from behind his sockets on all four of his legs, the horn ridges on his head, suddenly had those crystals coating them, until he had crystal like horns.

David recognized that look almost immediately, it was the same as that eagle that had attacked them after they crashed. An eagle that Vidi had ended up taking a bite out off. Finally two gill like slits opened up beneath and above his neck, and within those slits, David could see a thin layer of that green crystal.

Suddenly David felt a rumble as Vidi spread his legs wide like a growling dog, then he opened his mouth and roared.

"RRRRAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE"

It was more of a screech than a roar, and ensuing shock wave pushed David, Veni and Vici of their feet as they were thrown back into the cruiser. The shock wave traveled forth in a conical manner, it picked the armored bone hounds and threw them towards the lizard who was in turn thrown into the park behind them.

There were sounds of cracking as the hounds were slammed against each other and against a the trees in the park. From where he was standing, David could see the broken pieces of their bones on the ground, which spike volumes of the power behind Vidi's shockwave.

Vidi turned around and made his way back into the cruiser, and David still in shock at the sudden turn of events quickly closed the bay doors for the safety. Then he turned to Vidi, only to see him conversing with his siblings in an excited and electrified manner. And all David could do was stand there and watch in shock, as the changes Vidi just had, receded back into his body, and he was back to the same dark blue shelled tortoise he was a few moments ago.

"Okay what the hell was going on, and you guys better tell me everything."

However, before David could get an explanation of any kind, there was a huge bang that shook the cruiser and sent them tumbling to the floor. They were being attacked, seems like Vidi's sonic scream was not enough to keep them down for long. David ran through the cruiser picking up a few things, his bag, a bag of military supplies, a couple of short range communication devices, and most importantly, his hover bike.

David got on his hover bike and gave a spoke to Vidi.

"Hey Buddy, I'm going to need you, to do your thing one more time, and then we all have to make a run for it, alright."

"RAAARRR"

David opened the bay doors again, this time it was to a horde of armored bone hounds. But Vidi was ready, the moment the doors were completely open, he roared, and this time was infinitely worse than the first time, as half of the cruiser was ripped off and carried along with the hounds. The ground was raised, as the pavement was ripped off, carrying with it debris of broken rocks, bricks and sand.

The shockwave traveled on towards the park again, tearing the trees off their roots.

It was as if Vidi had caused his own mini disaster, everything looked like a hurricane and earthquake combined had paid a visit to the town. It was a rather rough sight, but it bought them enough time to get a move on. David started his hover bike, and picked Veni up, placing her small frame behind him. They he shot forward, trying to maintain a certain speed, so that Vidi and Vici would not be left behind.

But they were keeping up, it came as a shock to David, because he knew they were fast, but not this fast. They were moving their legs like they were spiders, or lizards. It was disorienting at first to watch the legs move, because all David could see were blurs. But it was only there for a moment.

David wanted to head towards the station, but he knew that would not be a good idea. Leading all this monsters towards their hideout, was not that good of an idea. The best possible cause of action, was to draw whatever monster that was awake, away from the area of the station and the shopping district. That way he could buy enough time for Lilith and Minerva to get back to base.

"Vici, I need you to find Lilith and Minerva, stay with them until we meet up at the station."

They were all running for their lives, so David could not stop to place his hands on Vici's head for a telepathic communication. But David did not need his telepathy to know that the tortoise felt upset, and David roughly knew why.

"Don't be upset, it's just that you're the only one I trust to keep them safe. I need Veni and Vidi with me, but I need you to protect the girls, can you do that."

Vici gave a sympathetic whimper, before he straightened himself, and shot off with more speed than David thought was possible. Then David turned his hover bike, and made his way towards the north of the town, directly towards the mayors office.

He increased his speed, and was happy to see that Vidi was keeping up. So far there has not been any pursued noticed behind them, but just before David was about to let down his guard, his senses sent warning signs flying through his brain, and he swerved his hover bike to the right. One of the hounds had jumped out of the window of a building, only to come crashing down hard on the ground.

Before it could reorient itself, Vidi had opened his jaws wide, and taken a chunk of it's neck, leaving the beast bleeding and convulsing in pain. But that was not the end of it, as David heard the sound of cracking class and falling plasters. The hounds were on the buildings around David, running on them, through them and even on the walls. They were keeping pace with the hover bike, and they had David surrounded on both sides. It was safe to say, that shit just hit the fan.
