The Lost Fruits

Chapter 3 - Lucky Or Unlucky?

Ace was walking in the middle of the desert following the direction he was given by Razik. Although it was very hot. Ace wasn't affected, after all, he weaild the hottest substance in the world inside his body.

But Ace wasn't thinking of the heat, his mind is still thinking about the name of the city "Agrabah". He is sure that he has heard this name before.

'It sounds like the Arabian name for scorpion... but I don't remember.' before he realized it, Ace kept on walking for 5 hours until he could see the city in the distance.

Ace felt a light and cold breeze on his face 'Beach?!' He absolutely can't mistake this kind of wind, not after 23 years of living in the sea. After he got further to Agrabah, he noticed the ocean behind the city.

"Well...It's good to see something familiar," he said as e continued his journey. Ace reached the city gate and followed the people that were getting in. He entered through the gate but he was stopped by the guards who crossed spears in front of him.

"Halt!" they said.

"...?" Ace didn't talk and just looked at them with a questioning expression.

"You need to pay the fee before entering the city like the rest." One of them said.

"But they didn't pay anything..." Ace pointed at the people that got in before him.

"Those aren't strangers but workers who maintain the walls." The other guard stated. For them, spotting a stranger isn't hard. After all, how many people arrive to Agrabah in a day? no more than 50 people and not that many exits the city either.

"Then how much do i need to pay?" Ace reached in his Jilbab (Men's Jilbab not women's) pocket and activated his ring to get one gold coin. After all, he can't just pull things out of nowhere.

"50 silver coin." Said the guards. One of them extended his hand.

"Well, I don't have change but..." Ace gave him the gold coin and passed by them "You can keep the change." he said.

The guard looked at his hand and saw the strange symbols on the coin "What a strange currency design?!" the guard was amazed.

"It doesn't matter what design it, Gold is Gold." the other guard said as he went back to his position "Put that in the box and return to your post."

As for Ace, he was walking down the streets of the city. He noticed so many people wearing long and colorful clothes 'They look like the people from Alabasta.' he thought.

As he went further in the city, he entered the market Area. There was so much noise as expected from a market. All kinds of people were here selling and buying anything possible.

"C'mon man, that's not even a bargain! why don't you take it for free if it is like that!!" One merchant said to the lady in front of him

"Don't joke with me!! where in the world will you find dates for 10 silver coins?!" The lady retorted.

In another shop "My price is final and i won't negotiate anymore!!" The owner stated.

"Oh! don't be like that, just 18 silver and let us take it home." A man said, "We still need some clothes for our daughters, let us come in another time man."

Ace who heard this kind of converstation chuckled 'Bragining wherever you go!' he thought with a smile on his face.

Ace continued his search for a place to stay in for the night. Just as he was about to take a turn, a boy rushed from the corner and was about to hit Ace.

"Whoa!!" the boy noticed Ace but it was too late.

But Ace being a Logia user the boy passed right through him.

The boy who was about to it him fell to the ground after he passed right through Ace.

"aw!!" the boy shouted from pain. Ace looked at him and saw a boy wearing a white and black striped drop-crotch with a shirt with the same design and a hooded red vest and ankle boots with wrap-around laces.

'This boy?!!' Ace was shocked.

When the boy stood up, a monkey fell from the roof and fell on his shoulder. He looked at Ace with a puzzled face "Did i just past through you?" he questioned.

Ace looked at the man and his monkey with shock "No, you didn't." But he didn't forget to answer.

"No, I am sure that I did. Isn't that right Abu?" The boy asked and the monkey nodded. Ace sighed and rubbed his eyes.

"Boy..." he called "What is your name?" he asked.

"Aladdin and this is Abu," Aladdin said. Ace chuckled and then shook his head.

"Now answer me," Aladdin said. He was dying to know what happened, his curiosity was showing again.

"Forget about that..." Ace wanted to avoid the subject of his powers at all costs right, So he had to think of something "...Tell me. Aladdin, do you know a place I can stay in for the night?" he asked.

"...? yeah, are you not from here?" Aladdin asked as he took another careful look at Ace's clothes. They resemble Agrabah's clothes but it is true that they have a few differences.

"Yeah...can you show me around? Don't worry I will reward you for doing so." Ace showed Aladdin 2 Golden coins.

As soon as Aladdin saw the money, him and his monkey smiled "Welcome to Agrabah, sir, this your local guide company Aladdin. Please call us whenever you need us." Aladdin bowed and Abu took off his hat.

Ace chuckled. He managed to avoid the subject successfully 'But Aladdin, huh? what are the chances?!' he thought.

"Please follow us, Sir...?" Aladdin looked at Ace and waited for him to answer.

"Portgas D. Ace." Ace said.

"Well, Mr. Ace. Please come with us." Aladdin guided Ace to the ins of Agrabah and showed him the best and the worst inns in the city while also telling him about the prices.

Ace chose the best inn and entered with Aladdin who would negotiate the price for him. After setting the deal and Ace get his room, Aladdin turned to leave.

"Here..." Ace throws a Golden coin to Aladdin who caught it.

"You were for real?!!" Aladdin didn't believe that he got paid this time. And a gold coin on top of that. This will last him for 3 weeks, he thought.

"Of course, come tomorrow to get the rest of your payment." Ace said as h sat on his bed.

"Of course, see you tomorrow!!" Aladdin was happy and couldn't wait to leave "let's go, Abu! we can finally buy some spices for food." Abu screeched and followed Aladdin.

Ace who saw Aladdin leave after he closed the door. He looked behind him at the window and got near to look at the palace view from the inn.

Ace rested his face on his palm as he put his elbow on the window edge, he looked at the moon and smiled "To think that I will come to Aladdin's world out of all of the other possibilities?" Ace looked at the palace and focused some lightning in his eyes and his sight became so sharp that he could see far away in the dark clearly.

His eyes landed in the Palace's garden where a beautiful young woman with long black hair and black eyes. She was wearing a blue dress and was playing with a large tiger "Am I lucky or unlucky?" Ace mumbled.
