The Lost Fruits

Chapter 9 - Should I Settle...?

"My Sultan!!" Jafar stormed to the king's chamber with hast.

"What is it, Jafar?" The Sultan shifted his attention from his work to Jafar who was red from frustration.

"This has gone too far!!" Jafar spoke, he walked near the Sultan "The princess will doom us all, we need support!"

"My daughter said she doesn't want to marry a princess that will make her unhappy..." the Sultan responded.

"My Sultan you are being too kind, at the border, our men are starving for food and we can't provide food for 35,000 men like this, we don't have allies." Jafar retorted. He looked at the map and pointed at the borders of their land "The distance from our capital to the border is the distance of a day, we can't handle this alone." Jafar was frustrated "You have to talk to the princess about this!"

The Sultan smiled "Don't worry about that, I have some good news for you..." The Sultan gave Jafar a doc.u.ment "This was brought to me by my daughter..."

Jafar looked through the doc.u.ment "A contract between the monarchy and the Morjan company...You mean the company that was established 4 months ago?!!" Jafar was shocked "How can this be! do they even have the necessary supplies?"

"Read until the end..." The Sultan suggested, he smiled knowing full what is in there as he had read this before.

"It says...!!... To send supplies to our troops at the border in exchange for a rank in the court?!!" Jafar was about to go nuts "have you gon--" Jafar silenced himself at the last moment and then calmed down "How do we know that they can accomplish the task at hand? after all, even the whole market of Agrabah can't provide such large number of supplies at once. How can a company that was founded 4 months ago be able to do so?"

"I have sent Rachid to investigate and it is true. that company has dominated the market in a short time and all of the merchants are under its rule. A large number of supplies is being prepared, it will be sent in two days."

Jafar clenched his staff and gritted his teeth "And...about the rank in court?" He questioned, "Doesn't it seem suspicious to you, my Sultan?"

"I am only giving the rank of Sheikh; a tribe leader and provided that the man has no tribe or land, the title has no real meaning..." The Sultan signed a few papers related to the Morjan company.

"It is still a title my Sultan..." Jafar sighed, he wasn't consulted about this matter and didn't know about it until his servants told him about it. He is afraid it may be too late.

"It is as you said, we are desperate." The Sultan said "...And for bringing us this solution, don't you think my daughter deserves a reward, such as forcing her marriage until needed again. Princes can still come for her hand but I won't force her to."

Jafar felt his head aching from all of this, the princess has yet again escaped a dead-end from her marriage, bringing this deal will make her hard to deal with in the future since he is sure that the other lords will be grateful to her.

Jafar looked at the Sultan 'I was never fighting you was I? it was always your daughter...' Jafar chuckled and looked at the balcony '...There is still time... until I find the Dimond in the rough, it wouldn't matter who I am fighting' Jafar took his leave while stomping his staff on the floor.

In the Morjan's northern supermarket building. On the 3rd floor, 4 people have gathered in a large meeting room with Ace as the head, behind him stands Aladdin who is wearing new fancy clothes after abanding his street rate statue and becoming the vice-president of the company.

"Congratulations to you to becoming a nobleman in Agrabah, Lord Ace!" A man with a full-grown black beard spoke, he is Samir; the man responsible for the west city market. The other three followed and congratulated Ace after him.

"There is still time before it becomes official, besides, The rank has no real meaning for now." Ace said calmly as he rested his head on his fist. "How much time until the large carriage is finished? the deadline for my departure to the border is in two days." Ace asked.

"I have reached for the carpenter and the blacksmith who are working on it and they said it will be sent tonight and sunset," Aladdin spoke. "They took their sweet time to make one carriage," Aladdin commented on the side.

"You have to forgive them, the carriage is hard to make especially since our lord has demanded for it to work on the roads and sand efficiently." An old man with a short white beard and one blind eye spoke after Aladdin. He was Asmar, the west market president.

"They are trying to work as a glider on the sand and as a normal carriage on the roads..." Walid spoke, he is a young man that Ace took a liking to, he is the first man to approach Ace and suggest to work under him and was the one to help Ace take over the 4 markets of Agrabah in such a short time. He was a genius in short.

"And how is that going, Walid?" Ace asked, he tapped on the table with his knuckles.

"Great, they managed to make it, but it will take 4 men to change the iron tires when going from the road to the sand, and vice versa."

"No problem, we can work with that, and for now, we just need it for sand." Ace nodded and stood up "This meeting is over, we will meet here after delivering the supplies to the border and getting new items from the city of Rahba." The three-man stood up and exited the room and left for their responsibilities.

"Few! standing for so long makes my feet ache!" Aladdin spoke as he bent down to massage his feet. Ace chuckled and exited the room from the door behind them. In the room, Ace saw Abu playing catch with a woman wearing a blue long dress. It is Jasmine, after four-month, it became a regular routine for her to come to visit Ace every other day.

"Dalia! You're still here?!" Ace said surprisingly, but in truth, he know she was here with his Observation Haki.

"Yes. Abu here was keeping me company..." Jasmine said as she tossed the ball again to the wall and it kept on pouncing until Abu caught it and brought it back to her. Aladdin frowned 'Since when did Abu become a dog?' he thought.

Ace walked and sat in front of Jasmine who goes by the name [Dalia] when she is with him and crossed his legs "Now I have done as you said, the supplies will be sent in 2 days. What is next?" he asked.

"I don't know, Princess Jasmine didn't tell anything about it." She played with Abu and fed him some gr.a.p.es

The deal about the Morjan company helping the palace came from Jasmine herself after she has talked about the war and the supplies shortage with Ace once. Ace can still remember how she dragged him into that [If] scenario game of hers.

'What if one day the Sultan gave you a task to send supplies to his men at the border...Will you be able to do it?' she said.

Ace without paying it much attention answered calmy 'Yes. I will buy the necessary items and transport them all in under a week.' that was his response. But unknown to him at that time, it wasn't just a game at that time, as Jasmine smiled from ear to ear.

The next day, a servant from the Palace came to Ace on behalf of the Sultan and the Princess and gave him the deal of supplying the army in exchange for a huge sum of gold and a court rank. Knowing that Jasmine had a hand in this, Ace chuckled and decided to see where this will lead him and what is Jasmine thinking about.

Ace sighed at how manipulative she turned out to be "But still I can't figure out why asking for a rank in the court, I still don't get it. It has no benefit to me at the moment. After all, I am still getting paid by the Sultan." Ace said.

Jasmine smiled and shrugged her shoulders "I don't know, maybe the princess thought it was a good reward for you." But judging at how manipulative she turned out to be, Ace knew that she is plotting something for him. But with his observation Haki, he is sure that she meant no harm to him.

"Now, I must return, I will try to ask the princess about the rank thing for you." Jasmine [Dalia] took her leave and returned to the palace, she stayed here more than normal. Dalya can't keep saying that the princess is sleeping for the whole day.

After Jasmine left, Ace smirked, this turned out to be more fun than he thought 'Though...I can't help but wonder why the plot of this world didn't progress that much since then, That Evil Vizier didn't find Aladdin yet...'

'I must get my hands on that lamp, maybe it can send me back to my world...' Ace thought.

After two days, 20 camels were prepared to pull the whole thing. The items were loaded inside and it looked like a house instead of a carriage. To not change the tires inside the city and on the sand, the carriage was in gliding mood and it was put on the sand first before being loaded.

"Alright Aladdin, make sure the market keeps on functioning while I am away." Ace jumped on the carriage and took his seat.

"You got it, boss!" Aladdin saluted like a soldier on battle with Abu.

"GO!!" Ace shouted at the camels and they started pulling the carriage, with their combined power, it was easy for them to drag this huge carriage, although a bit slow.

Ace and the carriage started to fade in the desert while the workers are standing at the city gate making sure everything is okay. The blacksmith and the carpenter were proud of their work and they assured Ace that their masterpiece will do the work.

Once Ace was away from the city, he went for the nearest oasis and stopped the camels there. He unlocked them and locked them near a little lake where they can drink and eat.

"Sorry guys! I need to move faster!" Ace moved under the carriage and his lower body turned into lightning. The carriage started levitating as Ace pushed it up.

"I must thank Enel for his powers...They are the best!" And so he took off with lightning speed after coating the carriage in Armament Haki so it won't explode or be destroyed.

In a mere second, Ace reached the camp but he still put the carriage away from their sight. He still needed to return to the camel.

With lightning speed, Ace went back and forth the Oasis 20 times and then locked the camel to the carriage and then he was able to enter the camp as an envoy from the palace.

Inside the camp, Ace met with the general who was crying and thanking Ace from the deepest part of his heart "Thank you sir for saving us, we really thought that we couldn't hold on anymore. The food provided by the Vizier wasn't enough to fill our stomachs! Thank you!"

Ace smiled and spoke "No need, the Morjan company is in service of Agrabah and its people!" Ace put his hand on the general's shoulder.

"But how did get here so fast? I was informed that you will be here by tomorrow." The general asked.

"There was a change of plans, I left a day earlier..." Ace responded calmly. He will take the day that he saved to get here in the city to buy new items for his company though.

After emptying the carriage, Ace left the camp as suggested by the general, there is intel that the enemy troops are advancing towards them.

Ace was sitting on the carriage being pulled by the camels, he looked at the sky and smiled "This world is so much peaceful than one piece by a million fold..." he mumbled "...I am getting drunk by this carefree feeling. Should I give up on returning, I lost, after all, I have no crew to return to, Luffy and Sabo can take care of themselves anyway."

Ace started thinking, as he kept on mumbling, a wild thought came across his mind "Should I just settle in this world?!" He said.
