The Luckiest Mage Should Have A Harem

Chapter 10 - The Joy Part III

"Kill Joy"

After he spoke his name, he released his Soul Aura, the black-ish red energy spreading out across the clearing. The wave of Fey passing by Warren with blinding speed, his hair pushed aside as he saw a sickening sight.

Before Cargo's lifeless body and Reya, droves of men appeared from behind trees. They were finally going to act, taking advantage of Warren and Reya's scuffle.

Now, Warren was stuck to the wagon, Cargo was down for the count and Reya had barley managed to sit up. She g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain as the Spell pulsed inside her.

Lucy landed just shy of her Master, eyes wide and searching, "Master their coming, we are completely surrounded!"

Warren but his lip and grabbed the hilt of the dagger stuck in his hand, "Yeah thanks Captain Obvious, and their leader just showed up."

Lucy leaped to Warren's side and peered toward Kill Joy, the bandit grinning crooked teeth as he slowly approached Reya.

"What, his Soul Aura, its..." Lucy trailed off as the black katana was outstretched toward the helpless figure of Reya.

Warren had realized as soon as he released it, the chilling killing intent that ran up and down his spine like a roller coaster. Besides his darkened Fey, Warren had also realized his rank.

He was indeed a Rank S.

The immense power that had made Warren sweat was now making his fight or flight receptors completely shut down. For the first time in his entire life, he could not smile. Instead, he watched as Kill Joy raised the long blade above his head.

Reya was going to die right before him, and their was nothing he could do.

But.

Warren ripped the dagger from his palm, blood splattering onto the invisible barrier. Through pain and mangled nerves, he managed to speak his Spell, " <Karma's Heal>." The torn tissue and the loss of blood seem to re-materialize around the wound, the once broken bone reshaped.

He balled his hand into a fist, another bulge of pain rolling over his body. Lucy watched in awe, the dagger clattering to the wood in front of her.

"We need to run Master, there is no way we can-"

Warren rose his fist and poured Fey in to his arm. Soon, a golden aura formed around his hand. In a flash he punched the barrier with all his might.

He had no time to go around the barrier, as the blade would soon kill an innocent girl right before his eyes. If you would call almost killing Warren innocent.

Kill joy laughed and swung his blade with power.

Reya closed her eyes knowing what would come next.

*SHWIING!*

The black blade stopped inches from Reya's head, the loud clang of metal echoing throughout the forest. The ten or so men that had entered the clearing gasping and readying their swords.

Warren was crouched over Reya, his arm holding up the dagger that had pierced him. The small metal blade having cracks in the metal. The clash of the metal impact nearly shattering it alltogether.

The massive man before him rose an eyebrow, "Oh, and who do we have here?"

Kill Joy back stepped and looked at his fellow bandits that had come to stand beside him. Warren bit his lip, the hand that was holding the dagger shaking uncontrollably.

Lucy sprinted to his side, her voice loud and worried, "What are you doing that was our time to escape???"

Warren looked down at Reya, the small girl finally getting her bearings.

"I don't want to run Lucy." Warren said in a serious tone. Lucy sighed, there was no changing his mind when he got serious. It was do or die now.

Warren calmed his breathing and accessed the situation before him.

Reya had thought Warren was a rat telling the bandits about their route, so she had almost killed him. Lucy had saw it happen and attacked Reya without thinking because Warren was focused on her when she appeared. The bandits most likely saw the events and decided now was the time to act even if it was in the daylight.

Now, Warren had a measly dagger that had almost broken after a single clash and was being encircled by ten men.

He watched closer, realizing all of them had swords at the ready. Warren guessed they were being cautious unsure of what Magic he possessed. They also knew he was a Mage and most likely someone with training.

Warren looked toward the muscular man in front of him, a black katana also being prepared.

It was clear what would happen.

Warren grinned and looked down at the mysterious girl who had stolen his first kiss, "You gonna lay on the floor and gawk at me or help me fight these assholes?"

Rey pushed herself to her feet, taking a few daggers from within her robe, "Sorry for trying to kill you, my name is Reya."

She coughed and also took a stance.

The trio was completely surrounded now, not a single route of escape visible.

Warren kept his grin, "Yeah I know, I'll pay you back after we get out of this."

Lucy hissed as a large man took a heavy step forward, "These are just kids Kill Joy, I thought you said we had some big fish?."

There leader glanced toward his subordinate, "Then go and find out."

The entire group of bandits snickered as if the entire situation was comedic to them. In retrospect, it was twenty men against a cat, A boy who has a stupid smile, and a small girl with a red hood. The odds were slim.

The man had a double-sided axe, the dirty metal brutish and banged from experience. He raised it up and charged full speed.

Lucy readied <Black Luck>, and as he grew near the familiar black beam hit the man head on. As it did, he tripped and fell face first into the dirt.

Warren whistled, "Nice one Lucy."

Lucy seemed to bow and laugh as the fat man struggled to get up. The two were mocking their opponents.

Reya on the other hand, was at a complete loss. Beside her the boy who had saved her life was now smiling like a maniac while congratulating his cat for making a man trip. Both seeming unaffected by the crisis at hand.

She was indeed in deep shit.

"Listen Warren, I have no idea what Magic you posses but if you can give me a hint we may be able to work together." Reya said as she pulled her hood back over.

Warren let his mind wander and he finally managed to force his body relax. He leaned down and touched his toes, counting to five before answering.

"Just make sure I don't get stabbed from behind and also," he looked Reya dead in the eye, "No killing, just near death."

Without a second to spare Warren took off full sprint to his left.

Kill Joy laughed, "Seems these kids actually wanna put up a fight." He licked his lips as his gaze fell on Reya, "Kill the boy and keep the girl alive."

Warren poured Fey into his right arm, a golden light snaking down to his fist. A bandit came charging, a iron broadsword swinging in an arc toward Warren's head.

Warren quickly threw the broken dagger toward his face, the man instinctively flinching. The dagger however, had little force on it, the blade missing by an entire meter.

Warren quickly took advantage of the move, his goal never on the dagger actually hitting anything. As he closed in, Warren threw a powerful upper cut.

A loud crunching sound confirmed he connected with the man's chin. The bandit was immediately knocked unconscious and as he let go of his sword, Warren happily took it for himself,

"I'll be taking that." He said as the familiar hilt of a broadsword fell into his grasp.

Two more men had already started advancing, closing the distance in a matter of seconds. An awkwardly curved blade came flying toward Warren's torso.

He swiftly side stepped, letting the blade miss his gut by inches. Without fail Warren prepared his Spell.

"<Double Down>"

------

Double Down(B)- The spell will activate once three consecutive hits are made on a single target. Once they are, the same energy will be applied once again in the same area.

------

Warren blocked the jab of the other man's sword, sparks flying out as he let it glide across his blade. The bandit leaned forward and continued his strike.

Warren lifted his hilt, the edge of the bandit's sword getting caught on the guard handle. He violently twisted and soon the bandit before him was unarmed.

The Mage sprinted forward and delivered a strong punch to his gut, spit and saliva following the man as he was pushed backwards.

Instead of falling the bandit gripped his hands together and rose them to smash Warren's head in.

It was two late, two clean cuts appearing across the mans mid-section. Warren's devilish grin grew wider as his Spell had met its requirements.

A second later the same man was sent flying backwards with deadly force, Warren already facing the other men who encircled him.

It was how Warren's Spell was designed. All he needed to do was land three hits on a single target, the spell reapplying the force once again.

In simplier terms, the bandit he had sent to the floor had been cut four times and felt the heavy punch of Warren twice.

He indeed out cold.

Warren put his hand up and motioned for his other opponents to come,

"Let's see if this "fish" is big enough."

Ten meters away, Reya had slowly backed up, five burly men of different skin color slowly approaching her.

"Hey little lady, you seem scared?" It was a tall, pale, and slender man to her right, his hand fondling a spot between his legs as he drew near.

Reya's eyes went dark as she pulled the hood over her head even tighter, "Please don't look at me."

A fatter man beside the previous man scoffed, "Ha, are you embarrassed, don't worry Slink over here just loves small ones like you."

Slink nodded as he held a long spear, the tall man was pale and had his hazel eyes dead set on Reya.

"The small ones struggle the most isn't that right Miger."

Miger rubbed his plump beer gut, "Oh yeah, they are also the tightest."

The two men laughed hard as they took another step.

Reya glanced down, Lucy watching closely ignoring their words entirely. For Reya however, it was impossible.

She could hear it, feel it....

The fantasies the men before her were imagining. The savagery they had in mind and the gruesome sight vulgarness making Reya want to puke.

It was all because of her Magic, the magic that she was cursed with from the day she was born.

The Magic called -Link-.

"So um Mrs. Reign, you are telling me my daughter has a Magic Base already?"

The question came from a petite young man, glass circles around his nose which hid his eyes as they reflected the lights of the room. His leg instinctively tapping the floor as the beautiful Witch before him was nodding silently.

"Yes Mr. Rose, it seems that your daughter has done something that has never been seen in all of Azura."

The man frowned as he adjusted his glasses, "I-I..."

The purple haired maiden sighed and touched the feeble man's arm, "I get it, it can be hard to realize the importance of a child so soon."

The woman gracefully stood, "But no matter how it may seem, this child is blessed."

Mr. Rose rubbed his temples, "I um, what am I supposed to do? You know it as well as I do miss, I never was a Mage to begin with, I mean my Magic only allows me to talk to small creatures. I-"

He adjusted his glasses nervously, "What do I do if she wants to become a Battle Mage, I am a single parent with little income I can't support her."

Mrs. Reign stalked over to a small wooden cradle, within, a small fragile baby girl slept soundly,

"I know you are nervous but you have many years until such a thing will happen. Do not fret over the complications of future endeavors."

She smiled and touched the baby's forehead, "Be glad that your wife gave birth before she passed, to such a special child nonetheless."

Mr. Rose smiled, the image of his wife shifting the lump in his stomach. He had lost her to the uprising of Grizwall, and hours before she had died through sheer force alone she gave birth. The next morning she lost her life after NewTown was raided by military forces.

It was through luck that someone was able to find the corpse, under her arm was the crying child he had come to name Reya.

The name taken from her Mother.

"So what if, things don't go well with the kingdom, and when she gets to the age to be drafted?" The smile he had fell away quickly.

The Witch knew it was going to be hard for the man to think about the war, it was what had caused such a situation in the first place.

Mrs. Reign had the Magic Base called -Young Maiden-, allowing her to heal and nurture the youth, a Magic she had directly gotten from her own Mother.

One thing was, she had the ability to peer into a child's future, only small tidbits of still images all she could see.

Through the Spell, Mrs. Reign had saw one thing, the image of a beautiful young girl laying lifeless on the ground, her blood spilling across a patch of red roses.

She had told no one about the ability, because if what she had saw in little Reya was known to her Father, what good would the information do?

All it would do is lead the parent down a path of treachery and demise, as a single law always finite.

The still images she saw always came true, no matter if someone knew the outcome or not.

Despite this, the child had done something that had never been seen since the dawn of Mages and Magic. She had formed a Magic Base after a single year of living on Azura.

Usually the process took years for a body to start to take in the Fey around them, but for some reason, Reya had already started to do so.

Mrs. Reign's features went dark.

The process could only be accelerated after the mind and body underwent tragedy. She glanced at Reya, the baby's eyes wide as they pierced her.

For a single moment, Mrs. Reign could hear a baby's cry, the child bawling without prevail. But as Mrs. Reign stood silently, something became very clear.

Reya was crying, but in reality she laid perfectly still without a single sound coming from her. The child was indeed crying inside the head of Mrs, Reign, the sound not reaching anyone else.

She was already using her Magic.

Mrs. Reign backed away in amazement.

"Is there a problem Mrs. Reign?"

The Witch subdued her awe and cleared her throat, "No, um, Sorry I was just checking on her health and she seems fine." She gathered her things and bowed to Reya's Father, "I'll be taking my leave now."

After the abrupt good bye Mrs. Reign found herself standing in the door frame. She glanced back at Reya, the child still staring at her with cold eyes.

The small frail baby had just witnessed her own death, but as their gazes broke away, the crying in the witch's head was replaced,

replaced by the laughter after looking at her Father.

(Present)

"Hey Reya I have no idea why you seem like your having a flashback but now would be a good time to do something." It was Lucy, the cat following her as they were pushed back against the Beetle.

Reya did the best she could to zone out the men's l.e.w.d fantasies, her hands tightening around the daggers in her hand.

She would have to use her Magic to get them out of this, it was the only way.

Lucy frowned as she threw more glances at Reya, "I take it you are the silent type or you have a plan?"

Reya nodded and finally spoke, "Listen closely, My Magic is called -Link-, it allows me to connect my Fey or Soul to anything."

Lucy nodded, "And what good will that do us?"

"Hey there's a f.u.c.k.i.n.g cat." This time it was the man on the far left, his lazy eyes looking at Lucy.

Miger pointed at her, "We can play rugball with it after we break its legs."

Slink snickered, "Seems like tonight we have some fun."

The chatter seem to strike a nerve in Lucy, the cat hissing while jutting her claws out. Reya heard the few things Lucy wanted to do to the men, the girl nervously realizing that Warren should of told her not to kill.

On the other hand, Reya leaned down and touched the back of Lucy, with a single word she uttered her Spell.

"<Mind Link>"

------

Mind Link(?)- after touching multiple people, this Spell can link their thoughts together.

------

Lucy froze, her anger subsiding as her mind was now connected with the girl beside her,

'What?' She asked in her head.

Reya was already answering, 'I linked our minds so for the time being we can talk through telepathy."

They nodded at each other as the men were now only a few steps away.

'Lucy I need you to distract them, I need to touch then so I can finish them all at once. If we want to get out of this al-"

Lucy cut her off, "I got it, cut their balls off and then let you finish them off, easy."

Without another second the cat leaped forward, claws at the ready. Reya started see why Lucy and Warren had a contract, they were practically the same.

Miger seem to not even worry, swinging the club he had like a baseball bat, low and behold, he missed the cat by a mile.

That's when he made his fatal mistake. In the next second his eyes were bleeding from the claw marks of Lucy.

Lucy snickered and leaped for the next man.

Slink laughed and tried to swat the measly cat away, but his giant had missed by meters as well.

It was as if the cat was somehow unhittable, the two attempts at connecting utterly futile. Lucy readied her claws and swiftly aimed for his neck.

As she swatted forward in an instant, in the next Lucy was thrown backwards against the dirt.

Slink grinned uneven teeth, "Sorry little kitty but this man ain't that easy."

Reya gasped, the place were Lucy was aiming unharmed, instead his skin had taken the familiar texture of wood.

Both Lucy and Reya realized what was going on. Amongst the thirty men they were all Mages but only three had formed a Magic Base. The other men only able to harden their body and swords with Fey.

It seemed their boss was one, while Slink was another.

Reya also was hit by another question. Where was Ron? In total there were twenty men in front of them, meaning the other ten must have gone toward the back.

Was the blind man successfully holding them off?

"Oh so you must be the other Magic user"

Everyone snapped onto the muscular body of Ron, the blind man smiling as he had blood caked around his entire body. He was standing on the Beetle, two curved small blades in hand. The blind man continued,

"I had a little bit of fun with your friend Timmy over here, but he broke so easily so I came to see how the youngsters were doing."

Slink scoffed and pointed his spear at Ron, "Bull shit, Timmy was the second best Mage we got, ain't no way he got dun' in some blind man."

Ron shrugged, "Seems your the second strongest now."

Slink narrowed his eyes, "We will see about th-"

Reya dove away as she touched the back of Slink, the tall man turning to the little girl in confusion. As he surveyed his partners, they were all m.o.a.ning on the ground.

It was now Reya, Lucy, and Ron versus Slink, the Bandit Mage evading backwards as Lucy leaped for him once again.

"Ay you weak sons of bitches." Slink g.r.o.a.n.e.d and steadied his spear, "looks like I gotta deal with these guys."

Ron gave Reya a thumbs up and hopped onto the dirt. Funny enough he had actually shot Lucy the gesture instead.

"Your name is Slink right?" He said as edged closer.

Slink stayed silent.

Ron smirked, "I guess I would be silent too if my friend was killed by a blind guy." Ron bent down over Miger. The plump man groveling in pain.

"Sad part is your about to be done in by a fifteen year old girl."

Reya exhaled and spoke her Spell, "<Pain Link>"

------

Pain Link(?)- after touching multiple people, this Spell can link their pain receptors together.

------

Ron stabbed Miger in the t.h.i.g.h, Slink instantly falling to the floor in a heap. Both men shouted in pain and rolled over.

Ron cackled and dug his other blade into the lower back of the already unconscious Miger, Slink following in a spasm slowly after. After a few seconds, Slink went silent.

They had finished the five men within a minute.

Ron stood up and opened his hands. Two more curved daggers appeared out of thin air, the man gripping them tightly.

"So where is the S Rank?"

Reya did not hesitate, "He goes by Kill Joy, I have no idea what type of Magic he has or what he is capable of."

Ron bit his lip, "So Dean Rou is staying in these parts nowadays."

Lucy and Reya glanced at Ron, the two both asking in unison, "Who?"

Ron patted Reya on the hood, "Don't worry about it kid, he was just a commander in Grizwall's old army, nothing much. Who knew he goes by such a cringe worthy name now."

Reya swatted his hand away, "So you are telling me we have to fight a commander?"

Ron shook his head, "No, I will be fighting him. You guys are just kids so you shouldn't get involved with bandits like these."

Lucy stepped in front of Ron, "How can we trust you, we barley even know who you are?"

Ron looked down despite being blind, "I never asked you to trust me, I just said leave Kill Joy to me."

Reya exchanged looks with Lucy, the two uneasy about his tone.

Ron pointed a thumb at himself, "I mean if anything I just wanna pay my respects to an old comrade."
