The Majestic World Of Terranova

Chapter 11 - The True Horror Behind Blood-Seeker

James thought he had lost his mind. He witnessed countless scenes of bloodshed, carnage, and pure gore. It shocked James badly, almost to the point where he dropped the weapon from his hand. Soon, he heard a voice whispering to him.

He felt it odd. There should be no one near him, and James knew it wasn't Troyande, seeing as the voice came from , as wierd as it sounds, from outside him.

The only chance then was that the sword had the ability to speak. Seeing as it was a Divine Artifact, it wasn't that wierd that it had some sentience.

"Come.... Clo.... Closer.... I. I thirst for... I thirst for more blood. Help... help me!"

It was then that James confirmed it truly was the sword. It seemed like the sword had decided to talk to him.

"The sword's spirit seems to have been surpressed. I tried to weaken it, but it shouldn't have weakened to this point."

Troyande looked pretty spooked. It made sense. To be able to weaken a Divine's Artifact spirit to the point where it barely was able to speak, it should be a grand existence.

"Have you noticed something? As you've been able to wield Blood-Seeker, you should have been promoted to the God of War. And you haven't. Do you know what that means?"

"The God of War hasn't died yet."

"Aye, this bastard is still alive and kicking, although in a rough shape. What are you lads trying to do by wielding this beast?"

Both James and Troyande were shocked. Suddenly, something had come out of Blood-Seeker.

"Kaos The First-Born, Level ???, God Of War, Celestial"

A somewhat middle-aged , beautiful figure was standing beside the Sword. It was playing with it, as if it was a normal blade. Blood-Seeker had shrinked to the point where it was of only slightly larger shape than a normal two-handed greatsword. It still looked pretty big, almost as tall as James was, but no longer the giant behemoth it used to look like whilst not wielded.

One had to know James had only managed to grab the Blood-Seeker after Troyande weakened it's spirit and made it shrink a little. Still, it had been as big as a tree's trunk.

"Even though I should be mad that the last lass tried to go up and replace me, I still have to thank you for getting me out of my cage. I was weakened and struggled to released the supression my dear friend put on me, but I was unable to do so. Until that lass that stands inside you finally decided to try and weaken the sword's spirit,"

James felt Troyande blushing, seeing as "his" secret had been exposed. Troyande had never been an "emperor" per se - "he" was an empress.

"I just didn't want the people of my country to look down on me just because fate willed me to be a girl."

"Aye, and indeed they didn't, or atleast it looked like so. You were once close to annexing the Moon continent, weren't you? Last I heard from you, you were still in the height of your powers. Seems like it didn't last for long, huh?"

James noticed that Kaos had somewhat of a melancholy striken face, and James understood why. Although most people wouldn't understand why, Major Gods almost always liked their Saints. In truth, they were really, really bored and yet very strong people, with long lasting lives. And as such, they were very protective of their "children".

One could call the Saint's the Gods children, as true, Human children who's bloodline was godly was rare, almost impossible, due to the fact that a mortal soul had to endure the pressure of a God.

"Indeed. Some people betrayed me, whilst some defected. In the end, I was forced to seal a portion of my soul in my Inheritance and try and weaken the soul in Blood-Seeker for my heir."

"But, to think that the Great Moon Empress would lower herself to binding her soul with a small child who's still wet behind the ears, it must have been painful."

Do not get riled up.This has always been it's nature. James heard such a thought, but panicked the second after. He hadn't thought such a thing.

Yes, I can hear your thoughts and you can hear mine. Me and you are one, so to speak. It will only deepen the connection between our bodies the longer we stay joined.

"No, it truly hasn't. I searched for a few decades, but was mostly disapointed. People take the lower risks, lower rewards path nowadays. Except for this one. Some might call it recklessness, but I like it."

"I know, my dear child. Don't fret yourself with my banter, you know it's my nature to do such things, my dear."

"Uhm, Troyande... Is that the actual God of War?" - James thought to "himself".

"Yes, indeed it is. Kaos is... a complicated being. It sometimes switches from being peaceful and kind to the most restless and agressive bastard there is. Also, don't be fooled by it's looks. It is no woman nor man, Gods are capable of manifesting what they want. Kaos was born from the "Chaotic-good" inside man, so it isn't too vicious, even when slightly unstable."

"Do not, however, question it's power. It will go from being the kindest, wisest elder brother to most ruthless and devious beast you've ever heard from. It will probably take a liking to you, you fit it's character pretty well. I did, and so do you."

"And now you, my little friend. Seems like you're the one my lass chose to take over her mantle. I should congratulate you for being able to pass the Trial until here, right?"

"Uhm.... Where did I put it? - Kaos muttered to itself.

Suddenly, a blade popped up out of nowhere and stood on Kaos's hand.

"Spacial ring" - Troyande thought. "It looks like Kaos is gonna give you a decent gift this time.".

"Come forward my friend. I wish to give you this as a token of apreciation for completing my Trial and freeing me. Come on now, do you want big sister to go over and give it to you?"

Kaos suddenly morphed shape into a decent looking middle aged women, wearing what looked like robust armor and walked over to James. It then handed James the sword.

"Take it, I don't bite. Unless you want me to?" - It giggled.

James had been too shocked for most of the time he had been present during this conversation between Kaos and Troyande, which resulted in him not reacting at all.

He bowed to Kaos and thanked it. He then looked at the sword and marveled at it's quality.
