James had been transported to what looked like a desolate mountain. The only wierd thing was that it was pitch dark, and were it not for the stars in the sky, James would be unable to see.

Suddenly, he heard:

"Step forward, my child. You shan't be afraid of what's to come."

"Reficul The Light-Bringer, Level ??? , Messenger Of Gods, Spectre, Celestial"

James was terrified. Celestial? What the hell even is that classification? And a Messenger Of Gods at that? What the hell had he even discovered?

"Don't be afraid, little one. Had I meant to do you any harm, you'd be long gone. Now, now. Come closer, I'll get lonely if you don't" - said the ghastly spirit, jokingly.

Although James could recognize this existence before him as something of a ghost, and that most Spectres were linked to resentful emotions, Reficul brought no such feeling to him. Reficul had a strange aura around him, and wierdly enough, he had a shine irradiating from him.

"You, my little friend, have been chosen to bear a great burden. Although you shall not realise immediately, the position which you hold is one of great power and of unspeakable meaning. I assume you already know what you're here to do?"

"To take on the Saint Of War's Trials, if I am not mistaken."

"Ah, indeed you already know. It seems like the previous holder of this position already talked to you and surprisingly enough, he gave you that."

"Now tell me, little friend, have you ever heard of the stories of olden time in which Gods communicated with this land?"

James nodded, admitting to have already known.

"Then do you know why they don't anymore?"

James really didn't know, seeing as the lore of the game only stated that there used to be Gods which communicated with humans in Terranova, but those days were long gone. The reason wasn't even slightly mentioned, it was as if Gods had simply dissapeared.

"Seeing as you'll have a go at the trial, you ought to know sooner than later." - Reficul sighed, looking lost in his thoughts.

"The Major Gods were the First Borns. They created Humankind, and Humankind created them. They are the representation of this world's will. So, every God represents a portion of Human character. You can call it a flawed existence, and you wouldn't be wrong. "

"A few millenia ago this world was peaceful and people thrived. Of course there were evil and sc.u.mmy people and yet, none dared to defy the Gods. And so was the case, until a few hundred years ago."

"Do you know why the "Fallen" are so widespread today? The "Fallen" were the creation of a few Minor Gods, mostly dark and currupt ones, in conjunction with humans, created to wreack havoc and shake the structure of this world's mechanisms."

"To make matters even worse, there is an ancient rule that states that Gods can't interfere directly with mortal affairs, which meant that there was not a single creature capable of standing up to the Fallen. To do so, I, Reficul, was stripped of my Divinity and forced to slumber as a Spectre forever more. Only so that Gods could have a way to speak to humankind and interfere with mortal affairs, seeing as I am neither mortal nor Immortal."

"To be a bit more blunt, you can call me the First Saint. I was the first being capable of standing up against the Fallen. Every Major God has left behind a bit of an inheritance, a keepsake for the safety of humanity. The God of War left this one. I am neither present nor non-existing. I am but a Guide through your journey here."

"In total, there are 5 Saint inheritances. There's the Saint of War's, The Saint of Magic's, The Saint of Healing's, The Saint of Hunting's and the Saint of Night's, one for each class, if you want to call it that way. Each and every single one of them is unique, and there can only be one Saint of each kind at any given moment."

"Each and every Saint has been a person of great power, one who wields a portion of the power of those Gods."

"The most tragic part about it is that I, having seen the rise and fall of so many of such Saints, have yet to meet one who has reached the summit of this world. The last Saint of War's inheritor came really close, but still failed to make it."

"Now, you might be wondering, just what is a Saint supposed to do? In concept it's every easy. You just have to be able to unite the whole continent under one banner, and slay The Corrupted One."

"Just what or who is this "Corrupted One"?"

"Do not speak such names with such casualty. Names are part of this world's power, and invoking recklessly them might be one of the most dangerous things to do. Do not bother yourself with such things yet, they will only hamper your progress and weigh on your feeble mind. The Corrupted One is an existence so powerful, that even when the 5 Major Gods united, they failed to kill it, only being able to imprison it."

"Now , enough of the history lesson. Do you feel as though you are ready to undertake this trial? Remember that should you fail, you will lose every right to inherit the Saint of War's powers and, as a matter of protection, I will be forced to wipe your existence from this plane."

: Should you undertake these trials and fail, not only will you lose the right of inheritance to the "Saint of War's Trial's", your character will also be deleted permanently. Do you wish to undertake this Trial?"

Wow, it really will wipe my character. Welp, one can't make it big without taking a few risks, and the game wouldn't give me an impossible quest, right?

"I wish to undertake these Trials, please start them."

"I wish you the best of luck, my dear friend. Should you pass, we will meet again. Good luck, you will need it."

: "You have been transported to The God of War's Valley!"
