The Majestic World Of Terranova

Chapter 9 - The Hidden Gift

"You have entered the God Council!"

"You have entered the God Council!"

"You have entered the God Council!"

To stand in this place, James was already pretty scared out of his boots. One had to know that some casual lackey from a Minor God would be able to easily slap him to death. As such, James proceeded ever so carefully.

James was stunned at the scenery he saw. He was standing inside a place of reunion for Gods and as such, the architecture was simply mesmerizing. There were magical lights all around the place, it was vibrating and pulsing as if it was an actual living being. That notion really scared James, seeing as how powerful Gods are, that wouldn't be an impossible thing.

He was wondering around the place, seeing as he was just transported here and had been given no further instructions. He saw many doors, behind which were auras which almost sapped James from his strenght due to the sheer pressure of them. James was reminded time and time again that in this place, just a mere thought of these existences would be able to kill him a few times over.

Soon, he heard a voice which beconed him over. It called to him, almost in an instictual feeling. He got closer and closer to a door, which seemed to call to him. Suprisingly enough, he felt no pressure irradiating from this door this time.

He opened the door and nothing major popped up to his view. It looked like an ancient, dilapidated hall, one that looked that had went trough an advanced aging. There was only a single sword, eerily floating in the middle of this hall, pulsing and calling out to James.

When James felt this calling, it wasn't like a whisper in his mind but more so like how an infant recognizes his mother's voice on an instictual level.

Just as he was about to go and grab it, he heard a voice calling out to him.

"No! Don't touch that Bloody-thing. It has devoured countless souls before, and yours wouldn't be the first to survive it!"

James was utterly surprised, because what had called to him was Emperor Troyande, the person who had elected him to be able to take on the Saint's Trials.

"Although you and I are luckily involded by a twist of faith, don't let it get to your head. Cool down your spirit! Have you noticed what's pooling around the sword?"

Instantly, James sat down and took a few deep breaths. Troyande's voice was something like a soothing balm that calmed James. He no longer felt a calling to the sword.

He then noticed that spattered across the floor were thousands of thousands of corpses, and that the sword was not as small as it once looked. It looked like a gargantuan mountain, which emitted a heavy pressure, and James felt like he was walking through a sticky battlefield, the air reeking of iron-like smell of blood.

"Do you even know what that is? Do you understand what you were trying to do?"

"No, I really don't. But just from the instictual level of attraction there is, I will take a wild guess and say that it's somehow connected to the God of War" - James infered. Something that was able to cause a Warrior such as him to feel such an attraction could only have an origin in the God of War.

"You could be said to be right, but also wrong. Although it is indeed connected to the God of War, it should be said that it is the personification of the God of War. Basically, once a God is able to wield it, he would inherit the position of God of War. The position of Gods works like that. Once you are able to take over a divine artifact such as this one, you can be considered to be a God."

"I will tell you another secret. Currently, there are no Major Gods. They all became injured and unable to wield their Divine Artifacts after imprisioning The Corrupted One. As such, the power structures of Gods have become, how should I say it... Strange. There are plenty of Gods who have been drawn over to the faction which currently wields the "Fallen" and as such, tensions have been rising."

"Didn't Reficul tell you I almost made it? The reason why this divine artifact called out to you was because of me. I have bound myself with your soul, becoming one with you. I fell because I tried to wield The Blood-Seeker. That thing right there."

"And indeed I was able to, albeit for just a split second. The next moment I knew, I was drained just like everybody else, but there was a distinct connection between me and it. As such, I was able to keep this form, even if I had no resentful emotions in me."

"Basically, the last Trial is to be able to wield a Divine artifact, even if just for a split second. To do so, you have to bend it's Will according to yours."

"Right now, I can call it over. If you can not endure it's persuasion and fall to it, both you and me will perish. Remember what I told you? Thou Shalt Not Yield, Thou Shalt Carve Your Path Through Thine Blood, Sweat and Tears; The Path Shall Come, But Dare Thou Tread It?"

"Well now, my little friend. Time has come. Do you wish to give it a try or do you want to give it up? Remember that should you be able to wield it, even if just for a split second, although you won't be able to take it with you, you will indeed be able to ascend to the highest peak and become an aspiring God of War. You would be the first Human to be able to wield Blood-Seeker, and one of the rare few who have been able to hold a Divine position."

"I will try it. I've come too far, and given too much worry to this. So what if I fall? Atleast I can sleep knowing I have tried."

"Well said. Go ahead, take it and wield it. Focus. Bend it's Will according to yours."
