[Master. Long time no see.]

I heard Blackie’s welcoming voice.

I patted the top of the pouch that contained Blackie, indicating that he worked hard.

“But what is that magic item?”

“Did you open it?”

“No. You told me not to even dream about seeing my daughter if I opened it.”

[I didn’t get caught. Don’t worry, Master.]

Blackie’s words were much more reliable than Logan’s.

“It seems so.”

“Oh, and this.”

Logan got up from his chair, rummaged through his pile of drenched clothes, and threw a heavy pouch at me.

Upon receiving it unexpectedly, I opened it and there were jewels inside.

I looked at him in surprise at the unexpected treasure.

“What’s this?”

“My legacy.”

Why would I take your inheritance?

Logan’s expression instinctively wrinkled, and he patted his chest while speaking hastily.

“It’s not what you think! I just thought I should bring my legacy from my house!”

“What?”

“Since my parents passed away and my older brother was around, of course my parents would leave an inheritance behind for me. That’s what was left for me. After all, wasn’t I the proudest child of my parents? I was a filial son, you know, not to mention that I was a swordsman genius. My parents were excited to talk about me wherever they went. I think they only went to so many parties just to brag about me.”

Logan said with a brazen face.

Well, that’s useless information.

I simply wanted to check Blackie’s condition, should I just leave?

“So what’s the point?”

Logan grinned.

I hate to say it, but he really seemed more like an arrogant bully than an aristocrat.

“I’ve taken care of my own share. The location of the family vault remains the same. The password was also the same. This is why people should change their passwords regularly. So I swept everything away! Oh, my brother and sister-in-law should have watched as I grabbed the whole thing. Hahaha!”

The pouch was definitely heavy.

It seems that it is quite expensive seeing as it has a lot of large gemstones.

“Why are you giving this to me?”

“Well, I’m going to live in the duchy from now on. My daughter will also live with me. Though, I don’t know much about jewels, I’m giving it to you in advance, so don’t complain about money later.”

Logan begged me.

In short, it was a bribe for the duchy to take good care of them in the future.

There’s no harm in taking bribes like this!

I didn’t intend on treating Luc’s teacher badly anyway, but I concealed that with a smile.

“I’ll accept it.”

“The potential vessel committed suicide.”

At the grim voice, Countess Rothrun trembled in front of the communication device and could not bear to lift her head.

The mana control device attached to Logan’s ankle exploded.

It was such a large explosion that it was visible from afar.

The body could not be found, but there was no way he could have survived as the mansion collapsed and the control device was destroyed into dust.

“T-This is all because of the Duke of Valfruga! I-If it wasn’t for them……!”

“I know the explosion took place after they left the Count’s castle. You dare to deceive me?”

“I-It’s not like that……”

“I don’t intend to listen to your excuses.”

“I-I was wrong! Please, just give me one more chance! Please forgive me, Marquis!”

At Countess Rothrun’s plea, Marquis Reholas calmly touched his chin with his hand.

“Forgive?”

“I’m sure he’s still alive! Give me more time! I will…!”

“Do you really think he can survive that explosion? Then, it’s your fault for using such a weak control device.”

At Marquis Reholas’ words, the Countess froze and could not say a word.

“I’ve already paid you. I killed Count Rothrun and his wife, then made your husband the new count. In return, you promised to turn Logan into a fine vessel.”

“I-It’s almost done! I-I just have to find him!”

Countess Rothrun begged, clasping her hands.

“Noisy.”

“Ah, ah, ahh!”

As soon as Marquis Reholas’ words ended, black energy began to slowly fill the Countess’ necklace.

She grabbed her neck in disbelief.

“Pl-Please give me one more chance…! I’m sorry…!”

Black flames engulfed the Countess.

“Ah, ahhhh!”

The woman’s scream died down with the flames.

And a demon appeared.

It had the face of a woman with long hair and the body of a spider.

The woman’s head spun on the spider’s body and she giggled.

Then, it left the room to eat the life inside the castle.

As the demon left the room, the communication device turned off.

“Either way, the human body is weak. It wouldn’t even be able to stand against that level of monsters.”

Marquis Reholas clicked his tongue and rose from his seat.

Then, he stood in front of a thick iron door behind the bookshelf.

When he opened the door with mana, a black flame could be seen swirling in the empty space.

“Body…My…body……”

The black flame burned greedily before it died down again.

He knelt politely before the flame.

“Apologies. This low one appeared to have failed.”

“Body…New…body……”

The black flame repeated the same words without stopping.

Seeing this, Marquis Reholas felt disappointed by Logan’s escape again.

If he had succeeded in reconstructing Logan’s body, his lord would have had a new body by now.

There weren’t many people who could handle his lord’s demonic energy.

“Don’t worry, I will definitely find you a new body. Demon King.”

His eyes glowed blue in the dark.

“Countess Rothrun became a demon?”

As soon as we returned to the Valfruga, Treon brought me surprising news.

“It was said that the countess had secretly conducted an experiment using demons. According to the royal family’s investigation, the experiment had gone wrong and caused casualties.”

“Hmm.”

It didn’t look like the Countess would be interested in experiments.

But, it was fortunate that these events happened after we had left.

“Anyhow, that’s not what’s important today.”

I put on my shawl and walked busily.

What day is it today?

It was Luc’s first swordsmanship class!

I can’t miss this monumental day.

In time for this day, the floor of the training grounds was newly furnished with magic stones.

Logan saw Lucius waving at Felia, who was sitting near the training ground.

The reason she brought him out of that mess was to teach her little husband.

‘Our Luc is a sword genius!’

Felia bragged about it until her mouth ran dry, but it was normal that all children grow up to be called a genius, unless they lacked somewhere.

He thinks he’s seen one or two parents making a fuss saying, ‘My child must be a genius’ just for swinging a wooden stick once.

There were over hundreds of geniuses that Logan had heard of.

Among them, not a single one could truly be called a genius.

His posture was straight, but his handsome face and slender arms made him look more suited for a book rather than a sword.

‘Even so, that gaze was no joke.’

His eyes, cold as the winter night, shone brightly as he looked at Felia.

Whenever he blinked those big red eyes, his long lashes fluttered.

Perhaps it’s because he was stuck in this northern corner, but once he attends a party, he would be a beauty that will be talked about for a hundred years.

He was rather excited to see how such a person would turn to grow.

“Duke. Let’s start the lesson.”

At Logan’s words, the face that had smiled brightly at Felia looked back at Logan expressionlessly.

The sudden change in expression made him feel sad for some reason.

“Normally, I would have used honorifics, but since I’m teaching now, may I speak casually, Duke?”

“Do as you please.”

“Good. Then, I’ll ask you one thing before we start. What should I do to beat my opponent with a sword?”

“Kill the opponent first.”

Logan laughed heartily at the answer that came without hesitation.

“That’s right. You know it well.”

Schwing—

Logan drew his sword from its sheath.

The silver blade glistened under the sunlight.

“No matter how excellent the swordsmanship is used.”

Logan’s sword moved gracefully like the wings of a butterfly.

“Even with a swift sword.”

His sword left a long scored trail on the ground, like a lightning strike.

“The essence is simple. Block the opponent’s sword. And kill the opponent by cutting them down. Do you know what is important for that?”

“…….”

“It’s the foundation. Shall we have a test first? Now, follow me.”

Logan demonstrated with his sword first.

Lucius instantly followed Logan and moved his sword.

‘Ooh. He’s pretty good for a first timer?’

Usually, when a child learns the sword for the first time, they can’t even lift the sword properly, complaining that it was heavy, or swung it around as if they were swinging a bat.

Lucius had a perfect posture and the trajectory of his sword was neat.

If he already did this much on the first day, he could be considered a genius, but he didn’t show it.

Glancing at Felia from afar, he could see her triumphant face saying ‘Look, isn’t Luc a genius?’.

When he saw that face, he wanted to refute childishly, ‘No, he’s not. It’s not like that!’.

‘Well, I’m going to teach him later anyway, so should I just give him a taste in advance?’

Logan secretly injected mana into the sword.

Felia was a person who couldn’t even recognise magic, and she said the little boy in front of him was learning the sword for the first time today, so it must be the same.

Logan’s sword fell towards him.

However, with magic this time, the sword moved so swiftly that it couldn’t be distinguished by the naked eyes.

From outside, it wouldn’t be much of a difference from before, but it would feel like five swords were attacking the opponent in front of him.

“Go on, have a try,”

‘It’s a skill that even I, who was called a genius, could only do at the age of 20. There was no way a kid like him could possibly do it.’

Logan hid his innermost thoughts and spoke calmly.

As expected, Felia could be seen tilting her head in the distance with a face that said, ‘What’s the difference?’.

Lucius stared at Logan’s sword.

And moved his sword forwards.
