The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 1 - My name? My name is...

Everything was silent in the large open fields of grass and trees, the reason for that was due to a portal was being created. And alongside the portal, a crazy behemoth of an aura was being released. The pressure alone was enough to break the ground, pulverize stones into dust and crack open the nearby trees.

The portal was a white circle, and it has been there for the past five minutes, only releasing the aura. But the aura slowly vanished, but a bright white light shined, and in the bright light, the figure of a man appeared. The portal vanished not long after with the aura, the forest turned quiet once again, but the difference now was the broken area and the figure of a man standing on the plains.

But if you put your gaze on the man, your eyes would hesitate for a moment. The man was seemingly in his early twenties, his long dark hair was floating behind him, his skin was rather pale, and his red eyes were sharper than swords. The man was wearing a seemingly military outfit, a black outfit, a black coat on his back and black boots. Everything he wore was black.

The young man looked around with his sharp gaze, and as he was gazing around, his lips curved upwards into a complex smile; it contained smugness, amused and joyful. But when one looked at his smile, they would find it both fake and real at the same time. The smile on his face was very confusing for those who would gaze on it.

And it was then, that the man heard a voice, a voice that only he could hear.

[I am pleased to meet with you, Host. I am a System, and I am here to guide you forward, with both rewards and punishments.]

The man wasn't prepared to hear the voice inside of his head, but he didn't show a single reaction. He continued smiling, only after a moment his eyes narrowed slightly before he spoke inside of his mind. 'If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to hear my thoughts, right?'. He had already speculated that the so-called System should be able to hear his thoughts, as the System was speaking in his mind.

[Host is correct, Host is able to speak with me through his thoughts.]

'Hehe… Tell me, why have I seemingly lost my memories? And, what did you mean by rewards and punishments?' He laughed briefly in his thoughts before asking the important questions he had already thought of. He might have lost his memories, but some things were engraved into his body and mind; his personality.

[From what I can say; Host died and then Host's Soul didn't reincarnate, floating in the universe and being lost. I picked up Host's Soul and made you my Host. Due to the long process of being lost in the universe without a real body might have removed your memories of your past life. As I mentioned; I am here to guide you.]

'Guide me to what?' The man asked calmly, but he was prepared for the worst. His heart was beating slightly faster and harder, it seemed that his whole body hated one thing so much that would even make him angry; heroes and helping other people.

[Let me reintroduce myself to Host once again. I am the System of Unyielding, I am here to guide Host to become a God who won't yield to anything or anyone.]

And this time when the System spoke, the clouds above the forest began darkening and lightning fell from the sky.

"Heh, a System of Unyielding, sounds perfect." This was the first time the young man spoke out, his voice was soothing to the point one would be charmed. Yet luring behind his soothing voice was something dangerous, like a snake hiding in a bush ready to ambush.

[Host, you have yet to be named, what name do you wish to take upon?] The System of Unyielding asked calmly in the man's head.

The man went silent for a brief moment, he lowered his head for a few seconds before raising it up, gazing at the dark clouds in the sky. A scary glint appeared in his red eyes as he slowly opened his mouth to speak his name. "Call me Averill Kaiser."

[Confirmed, Host's name from now on shall be Averill Kaiser.] The System went silent for a mere second before it began talking again in its mechanic voice. [Host, you are now in a multiverse similar to your world but with differences. I will provide help and missions for you, but you are able to accept and decline the missions however you want without any punishments. But, if you decide to accept a mission, there will be a punishment if you fail to complete it.]

Averill glanced around briefly, the clouds began to vanish slowly right now. "That sounds good. Tell me something System, how are you able to help me?"

The System went silent for a second before answering. [These things which I will list now is the categorizes that I have which can help you. 'Status', 'Inventory', 'Summoning' and 'Domain'.]

When Averill heard the list, he raised an eyebrow slightly. "I can understand status, inventory and summoning to some degree so you don't need to explain those to me. But, explain the domain to me." Averill wasn't stupid even if he didn't have his memories, a status would of course show him his stats, inventory should hold things for him and the summoning would of course summon stuff or people.

[As Host will travel around the universe and visit different worlds, you will have a 'Domain' where you can stay in whilst not in those worlds. The domain will be your own plane of world, you and anyone who you deem worthy can stay there.]

Before Averill could nod and say some words, he heard something nearing them. The sound was whipping the air, Averill could only think of one thing when he heard this sound – a helicopter.

Averill raised his head slightly, gazing far in the horizon only to see a small black dot. "System, tell me one thing, how strong am I?"
