A cloud of dust appeared in front of Averill, yet it wasn't able to block his sight of what was happening in front of him. A yellow type of energy had blocked off every attack that was sent his way, and in front of that energy shield stood Yao.

Averill noticed quite easily that Yao wasn't in the best condition as her robe was slightly tattered and her magic that she put into the shield in front of her was barely being able to last for a few seconds before vanishing.

Yao gazed at the people in front of her, she wanted to scold them for being stupid but she didn't have any energy to do so. She sensed more people appearing nearby, she glanced at the Zealots that appeared with Kaecilius in front of them.

She couldn't help but narrow her eyes slightly as she gazed between the Zealots and the Avengers with the military soldiers alongside them.

Even whilst knowing her fate, Yao opened her mouth and spoke out in a tone that could be heard by everyone. "I will suggest that all of you leave right now, none of you know the consequences of doing this." She had seen this battle happening over and over in the possible futures, she would die no matter what in this battle, but Yao hoped for only a small chance, a small chance that they would leave and not bother Averill.

"We can't do that, mighty Ancient One." Fury spoke out from the back whilst his gaze went towards Averill. "You were a protector of Earth, then why are you protecting a maniac that would destroy Our planet." If Fury could refrain from fighting the Ancient One, he wouldn't fight her, but Averill had to die; he was too much of a threat.

"Fools…" Yao couldn't help but to mutter, yet she didn't despair or feel anything about it. She turned around towards Averill, she gazed at his mocking smile and his sharp eyes, she wanted to see his face one last time. "Averill, l know you can do it, leave this Mirror Dimension and live your own life peacefully. You don't have to worry about them, I will make sure that they won't bother you in the future."

Averill's mocking smile didn't twitch when he heard Yao speak those words to him. Rather than that, he wanted to smile even more. He stood in his place, still gazing at the people in front of him.

Yao turned towards her opponents, she saw that one human in the back was turning into a green monster. Yao knew who he was; Hulk. She didn't have time to spare any longer, she began running towards them as hundreds of portals appeared all around the Mirror Dimension.

After having jumped through one of the portal, Yao appeared behind a Zealot, she used her palm to send a wave of force through the Zealot which made him fall to the ground unconscious.

Several attacks were sent towards Yao, but Yao jumped back into another portal before appearing behind Iron Man high up in the air, she used her Mystic Arts to force Tony Stark to lose his consciousness too. Iron Man fell towards the ground too.

The more Yao travelled through the portals and made people lose their consciousness, the more exhausted she became. Her mind and thoughts weren't clear as before, it was muddled and blurry, she was moving based on her instincts.

But she wasn't omnipotent even with her great powers, she had been sent hurling towards the ground by Hulk, gotten shot multiple times by the military soldiers, she had been beaten by Captain America on several occasions, even explosive shots had hurt her a couple of times.

Averill gazed at everything happening with a mocking smile, yet his thoughts weren't as clear as usual though. He was slightly confused why Yao would go this far to protect him, Averill didn't have any feelings for her, he was sure that he was about to kill her before the explosions stopped him. Yet he was gazing that Yao was fighting a losing battle with her life on the line just to make sure that he wouldn't get attacked by them.

This small confusion began to bother Averill, on one moment he was angered by the thought of him being confused, and on the very next moment he felt something weird by that thought.

It was then that Averill sensed someone appearing behind him, ready to attack him. He didn't bother with it as he knew he wouldn't get hurt even if he got ambushed.

Yet Averill waited for another second without being attacked, he raised an eyebrow before turning around. He saw Yao standing in between him and a man with golden clothes stabbing a dagger through Yao's stomach.

Averill gazed at Yao, her robe was ripped, blood was gushing out from several wounds, and the worst one was from the stab she received right now to protect him.

After seeing this, Averill had enough, he wanted answers to his questions right now. He released a small bit of his aura to enclose himself and Yao from everyone else, Averill then flickered his hand towards the man who stabbed Yao, the simple flicker of his hand threw him fifty meters backwards with several broken bones.

Yao fell to the ground, she was barely able to hold her consciousness right now, her eyes were hazy. Yet she could see something, she saw the man she wanted to see in front of her. Yao knew it was Averill even if she barely could see through her hazy eyes, her breath was shallow, she knew that she would die soon. "A-are you safe…?" She asked in a weak voice as she tried to raise her hand towards Averill.

Averill gazed at the weak woman in front of him, he didn't know why but he squatted down and gazed at her. The woman who was very strong, the woman who could even fight strong people, yet she was so weak right now in front of him. And the reason why she became this weak was just to protect him.

Whilst Averill was in his own thoughts, he felt someone touch him, he saw that Yao was gently touching his face as he heard her weak voice once again. "Don't think about it, if I didn't die today, I would die in the near future. This has nothing to do with you. Even so… I'm sorry I couldn't protect you…"

"You are indeed correct; this has nothing to do with me." Averill responded with a clear voice as he gazed into her misty eyes that seemed to lose its brightness slowly but surely.

But even whilst saying that, Averill was still confused. He hadn't gotten his answers yet.

"Averill… can you promise me one thing? I only have one wish… do not destroy this planet." Yao asked this in hopes to that Averill wouldn't do so, she trusted him more than anyone else.

Averill didn't respond for a few seconds before nodding slightly as he replied. "It seems like you lied to me yet you didn't… 'A chance to meet someone that I would find someone I want to protect'… A chance, I see none. I will keep my promise that I won't kill you and everything that you like, even if I kill people, I will not destroy this planet."

The moment Averill said that, he felt something else inside of him. He gave a mutter. "Even if I say that, you still haven't answered the questions I haven't asked yet. You are not allowed to die yet on me." Averill used his finger to make a small cut on his wrist. A golden blood slowly gushed out of his small wound, he put the small cut on the lips of Yao.

It barely took a moment before Yao seemed to get better as the wounds on her body vanished. Yet she had fallen unconscious. Averill stood up slowly, a wild grin appeared on his face as he turned towards the people who had hurt Yao, they had hurt the one person that could give answers to Averill's many questions that he was feeling right now.
