“I heard you’ve been skipping lunch lately. Saying you have a lot of work to do and have no appetite.”

“That’s true, but …”

Unlike her, who was clueless about what to do in this situation, Killian squeezed lemon juice over the fresh oysters with a nonchalant look on his face and held it out to her.

“Rowena.”

“Killian?”

While staring at the bewildered Rowena, Killian pointed with his eyes at his hand. Rowena, who had a nervous smile, was so embarrassed by the sight of the waiter standing next to them, eventually brought her mouth closer to Killian hands and ate the oyster.

The squishy oyster was so smooth that it slipped over her tongue and down her throat in no time. Killian, whose lips widened to a smile as he observed Rowena swallow to oyster like a hiccup, swept his thumb across her lips in a single motion.

The deepening smile carried the intense atmosphere to another level. Even though she had just eaten an oyster, her face heated up as if she had done something lewd. With her eyes lowered in embarrassment, Rowena cleared her throat and coughed a couple of times.

“What is this all about?”

Although she vowed not to pay too much attention to his unusual behavior previously, she couldn’t quite overlook this situation.

He placed down the fork that he had been holding as his eyes narrowed at the look of real curiosity showing on her face.

“You wanted this to happen.”

“Huh?”

Rowena’s eyebrows furrowed at the unexpected response, and she tilted her head.

“What do you mean?” Rowena asked.

“Don’t you remember what you said on the train eight years ago?”

What is the world is this man talking about? her head went blank at the words that followed, and she stopped talking.

“You said you wanted to eat your favorite food by the sea someday..”

Rowena stared at Killian, who spoke clearly as if this conversation had happened just yesterday

She didn’t even remember saying such a thing to him, but there had certainly been a time when she had wished for something like that.

She was 20 years old and had stumbled upon her first love by accident on a train, and she had spent two or three hours in that cabin alone with him, happily chatting and fussing. That might have been rude, but she was just excited and thrilled to talk for a long time with someone who made her heart flutter for the first time in her life.

“That story ……. Ah, now that I think about it, I did tell you.”

She has probably spoken to some extent about that. After pondering it carefully, Rowena, who had answered honestly, asked back.

“Did you remember that? It was so long ago.”

She couldn’t even remember if she had mentioned that she liked oysters. Although recently she had mentioned something like that to Melissa or Joanne.

“I’m trying to do all these types of events too”

Occasionally over the past five years, Harriet has taken her to a somewhat luxurious restaurant for commoners that serves oyster dishes, but even that was only happening once a month on pay day.

“I wanted to eat this so much during my pregnancy …”

Rowena, who mumbled unintentionally, paused as she realized her mistake.  The warm atmosphere that had been present until a moment ago had vanished, and an awkward atmosphere settled over the dining table.

“What I meant was…”

Her mouth went dry. No matter how generous he had recently become, this was the first time she brought up her pregnancy to him first without being asked. While the troubled Rowena was still busy wondering how to settle this matter before it could get any worse. Meanwhile, the man sitting in front of her gestured to the waiter to leave them alone, and the waiter quietly retreated.
