"Luke. Wake up. It's morning already."

I groggily opened my eyes to see Bella's face only inches from mine. Seeing I was finally waking up, Bella moved her face out of my vision. A moment later, the tent flap lifted and fell, informing me that Bella had left the tent. I stretched a bit while lying down before sitting up and opening the tent flap.

After a moment of being blinded, I crawled out of the tent and took a look around. Everything was the same as we had left it last night. I used some water magic to wash my face and get rid of the last bit of sleep from my eyes.

"Good morning Gina." I nodded in her direction. She had just left her tent after waking Paul up.

"Good morning Lucifer. Did you sleep well?" She asked me with a smile.

"Well enough." I said. "It's hard to get my beauty sleep in a forest full of monsters."

I got a chuckle in response to my little joke. At that moment, a loud cry came from within the tent, along with a sudden feeling of sadness. Immediately, I realized that the baby light dragon was still in the tent.

Gina gave me a weird look as I went back into the tent. A moment later I came out with my bag, and Paul and Gina walked over. "What was that cry? It sounded like a monster." Gina said as Paul gave me a suspicious look.

I didn't have much choice but to tell them at this point. I removed the leather pouch from my bag and took out the baby dragon. Gina and Paul were shocked to the point of jaw dropping.

"I-Is that a dragon!?!" Paul exclaimed. I nodded in confirmation, causing Paul and Gina to finally close their mouths.

"I found him hiding at a park in Feido. After talking to the Guildmaster, I found out that since this little guy is still a baby, I can tame him by feeding him magic of the same attribute as he is. So I brought him along to slowly tame him." I explained to the two of them. "As a matter of fact, when he cried just now, I felt a twinge of sadness coming from him. The connection between us has already started forming."

"Wait wait wait wait wait. You're taming a dragon? That's crazy!" Paul yelled. Almost instantly after, Gina slapped him in the back of the head, causing him to bend over clutching his head.

"You idiot! We're still in a forest full of monsters. Keep it quiet." Gina reprimanded Paul for his carelessness.

"My bad, my bad." Paul apologized to Gina. He then turned back to me and said much more quietly, "Have you thought of a name for him?" Paul pointed at the little guy curled up in my hands as he waited for my answer.

"Honestly, I haven't." I admitted.

"Really?" Bella suddenly came back from closing up the tent and joined the conversation. "Do you have any ideas for a name?"

"The only name I thought of until now was L.u.s.ter, but I feel it's kinda lame." I said.

"Wow. That's quite lame. You really don't have a good sense of naming, do you?"

It hurt to hear Bella say that, but I couldn't refute what she had said. Back when I was still on Earth, my family got a dog and I wanted to name him Barker. My parents vetoed my right to name him immediately.

We all fell into a momentary bout of silence. I just stood there awkwardly, since I knew Bella wouldn't like any names I came up with. Paul and Gina were also deep in thought.

Gina suddenly raised her head and asked, "What kind of dragon is he?"

"He is a light dragon." I answered immediately.

"Hmmm..." Gina went back into her thoughts. After a few more minutes, Gina raised her head with a triumphant smile. "How about naming him after the God of Light?"

I had yet to learn anything about religions in this world, so I had no idea what she was talking about. The only religious sounding thing I had heard of so far was Bella's Unique Skill, Suhara's Blessing.

"I don't know much about the God of Light." I admitted to Gina. "What is his name?

"Velli'ath is the God of Light's name. I wouldn't name the baby dragon with the same name as the God of Light, since many of his worshippers would take offense to that. I was thinking, maybe name the little guy Velli!" Gina said.

I had to admit, Velli had a good ring to it. Bella was nodding her head in agreement, so I decided to stick with it. "From now on you will be known as Velli." I said while looking at the dragon.

He seemed to like it as he curled up against my arm when I said that. Either that, or he was just getting more comfortable. I smiled as I fed him some more of my MP, strengthening the aura bond between us.

Twenty minutes later, our campsite had been cleaned up. Putting our bags on our backs, we moved on to today's section of the forest that we would be investigating.

"Sir, I have a report you should look at."

One of the guards who worked in the central guardhouse of Feido walked into a large office with a few papers held in his hand. He had been sifting through hundreds of doc.u.ments and reports for almost twenty four hours straight. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked like a simple flick would knock him over.

Sitting at a large desk in the office this guard had just walked into, a large man was bent over studying a strange looking stone. Hearing someone enter the office, he looked up to see one of his men standing there with a report in hand. "Sven, come here."

Sven walked up to the desk that the captain of the guards of Feido was sitting at and stood at attention.

He was extremely nervous. The captain had a reputation for being extremely eccentric and strange.

"Take a look at this stone. It looks just like a regular stone from a riverbed, does it not?" The captain asked Sven.

"Yes sir. It does appear to be a regular stone." Sven answered, a bit confused.

"That's where you would be wrong." The captain said as he suddenly slammed his fist onto the rock, shattering it into pieces instantly. Picking up a piece of the shattered stone, he held it up to Sven's eyes so Sven could see that he was actually holding a small blue gem. "Not everything is as it seems. The stone appeared to be nothing special, but inside was a sapphire. You should always expect the unexpected."

Sven nodded his head, at a loss for words. Just how should he respond to this eccentric captain of his?

While Sven was pondering that, the captain said, "You said you had a report I should look at?"

"Y-yes sir." Sven stuttered as he passed the papers over to the captain.

The captain skimmed the report for a few moments before his brow scrunched up a bit. "Seems something major might be coming our way." He stood up and looked out the window at the cityscape below him. "Peaceful times never last. It seems war might be coming."
