The New Issei

It has been one year since Issei trained his body to High Class. In that time he has been training his body and his mana at the same time. This has lead to his training speed shooting up and allowing him to grow at a monstrous rate. Ddraig has told him that at the rate he is going he will reach Ultimate Class by the time he is eight, which is terrifying. Added onto this his swordsmanship and hand to hand combat abilities have sky rocketed with Ddraig sparring with him in his mindscape and showing him moves that his predecessors had created. Thanks to his ridiculous learning rate he has learned anything Ddraig could teach him and became a master of both the sword and unarmed combat.

Issei's magic had also come a long way. His Fire magic, Barrier magic, and healing magic had all progressed to the Intermediate level, the highest he could learn with his current power. All his other magic had also been mastered to the beginner level. He had also managed to learn to phase certain parts of his body through objects. He could only do this to about a tenth of his body at a time, but it would still allow him to avoid attacks, if he could predict where they were going to land. Also he had learned to create tears in space that could be used to cut apart his opponents, this was the next step to what he had learned before, to cut his opponents with a spatial edge. Thanks to all his training with space he could also now sense anything within a 20 mile radius and teleport anywhere within that area in an instant. This also allowed him to speed up his creation of teleportation magic circles, and he no longer needed an image in his head to go anywhere, just a general idea of the area. This had all made him a monster because he now had countermeasures to someone a full level ahead of him. He was only seven and could take on an Ultimate Class Being despite being a level lower. This was also not counting in his Boosted Gear.

But the most important thing that he had learned had been Six months before he turned seven. Ddraig had started to teach him how to create artifacts because Issei had asked him to teach him how to make things that could protect his loved ones. He had taken to this like a bird to water and absorbed all the knowledge for basic, beginner and intermediate level Enchanting. Enchanting had the same levels as magic and generally if someone was skilled enough they could make an artifact a level above them. For example if someone was a High Class Being then they could create something that could protect them from an Ultimate Class Being. But this was insanely hard because Enchanting an artifact is a very precise art that took both time and talent.

You needed to have a very high control of your energy source, for Issei this is his mana, and you needed the resources to practice on. In the modern age some things could be substituted for so this was a little easier to come by but some things still needed to be the same. Finally you needed the knowledge of the enchanting techniques. Many of these had been lost over the years or outright destroyed so not many craftsman for artifacts still existed and the ones that did usually remained in hiding to preserve their arts. Fortunately for Issei, Ddraig had several hosts who had been enchanters so he could pass their knowledge onto him. Ddraig had also let Issei in on a secret that only the Heavenly Dragons and their hosts knew, but he made him swear a magic oath to never disclose what he was told to others. This secret was that each host of a Heavenly Dragon could store stuff in a dimensional pocket that is connected to their Sacred Gear and anything that their predecessors had stored they could have access to if they had the permission of their Dragon. Ddraig had granted Issei access to some of the materials for enchanting that had been stored inside. He now had literal mountains of resources, and Ddraig had told Issei this was just a fraction of what was stored but he had to keep some for future hosts as well.

Ddraig had also done like he had for their sparring and magic lessons and brought Issei into his mindscape to teach Enchanting to him. This way they did not use up any of the resources he had given to him. Issei had learned at a very raid rate and by the time he was seven he was able to create artifacts that could defend against an Ultimate Class Being. He was satisfied with his progress and decided it was time to create something to protect Irina since he knew she would be leaving soon.

Issei: "Ddraig what do you think I should use for the core of the necklace. The chain is made of Enchanted Silver and the red dragon on the chain is made of actual dragon scales. So what do you think I should use for the gem the dragon will be holding?" Issei asked as he looked at various gems he had in front of him.

Ddraig: "Hmm, it is a protection charm that castes a strong shield around the wearer when their life is in danger so an Agate would work. But since it is for that friend of yours that has a really strong belief in god I believe a Sapphire would be the best. He prayers will strengthen the charm." He said in a thoughtful tone.

Issei: "Okay a sapphire it will be, I will put it clutched in the dragons claws and wrap the tail around it." He then proceeded to Enchant the gem and mold the dragon around it. The Enchantments melted into the gem, making them unable to be seen unless activated. He then added extra Enchantments to the chain to make it so that it will get bigger as Irina grows so that she will not have to change the chain. He finished it up by adding a few more Enchantments to the whole thing that will be useful ti Irina. "The dragon looks like a miniature version of you, Ddraig. I hope you do not mind. I just wanted something that would tie her protection to us so we would know when her life is in danger. Although the shield can only be broken by an Ultimate Class being attacking it for about five minutes at full strength, I am still worried about her. It will only activate to protect her from attacks that threaten her life so minor injuries or non-fatal ones will not activate it." He said in a worried tone.

Ddraig: "You had to make it that way since if it activated during her training to many questions would pop up. You did the right thing, now stop worrying and go meet up with her. She is leaving tomorrow and wanted to see you before she left, right?" Ddraig said in a caring tone as he reminded Issei of the meeting he had to be to in 30 minutes.

Issei: "I know, and thanks for the reminder. I would have missed it if you did not remind me." He said as he picked up the necklace and got ready to leave. "She wanted me to come over to her house since they are leaving early in the morning and we might not see each other tomorrow." He said as he went out the front door and headed next door.

Issei: "Should I tell her about the effects of the necklace Ddraig?" He asked mentally as he knocked on the door.

Ddraig: "You should tell her about all the effects besides the shield. If she knew about the shield she could end up being reckless and taking on more than she can handle in the future. Just make sure she knows not to tell anyone about it and to keep it a secret that you belong to the supernatural side of things." Ddraig said in a serious tone as Irina's dad opened the door. His name was Touji Shidou and a month ago he had killed his subordinate Masaomi Yaegaki and his devil lover Cleria Belial. At least he believed he had.

Flashback to a the night one month ago..........

Issei: "Ddraig I sense a battle up ahead." He said while walking home from training.

Ddraig: "Yeah and one of the energy signatures belongs to your friends father." He said with a serious tone of voice.

Issei: "The other seems to be a devil and a human, The Devil's life force seems to be going down, She is probably injured." He said while rushing to the site as he got closer he his hid his presence completely to see what is going on before acting. He also put on a mask and used magic to make himself taller in case he was seen.

Touji: "Just give up Masaomi, If you turn yourself in and come with me I am sure that we can convince the higher ups to let you live." He said with a pained look on his face as he and his subordinates surrounded two people that looked to be injured, one man and one woman.

Masaomi: "I will not let you kill her Touji!! What is so wrong with a human and a Devil being in love with each other?!! Why can those bastards not understand that it is things like this that will keep the war going!!" He said harshly as he pulled the heavily injured woman closer to him. "If you want to kill her then you will have to walk over my body to do it Touji!!"

???: "Masaomi, leave me. If you go with them you might live. I do not want you to die for me." She said weakly while crying.

Masaomi: "I am NOT going to leave the woman I love just to save my own hide Cleria. I love you and that is not going to change no matter what happens." He said while smiling at her and getting ready to fight. He raised his sword and said to Touji. "Lets get this over with." Just as he said this something strange happened. All the exorcists surrounding them, including Touji got a vacant look in their eyes as they all put away their weapons and left. A couple of them inflicted small injuries on themselves here and there as well before leaving.

Cleria: "What happened Masaomi? Why are they leaving?" She asked with a surprised look on her face.

Issei: "That would be because of me." He said as he stepped out of the shadows.

Masaomi: "Who are you and what did you do to them?" He asked as he turned to face Issei and got his sword ready.

Issei: "I showed them an illusion of them fighting you and had them injure themselves with the injuries they think they would have sustained in such a fight." He said while smiling under his mask. This was a technique he had created himself that mixed the element of darkness together with mind magic to imitate a technique he had once seen in an anime in his old world. He could only use it on those weaker than him but it was still useful. "You two are now free from them because I also made them believe that in your final moments you used a technique to destroy both your bodies." He said as he approached them.

Masaomi: "What do you want in return for this? There is no way you just saved us out of kindness." He said bitterly.

Issei: "I want you two to leave and go into hiding. I will give you each an artifact to disguise the way you look as well as hide your energy signatures. With them you should be able to start a new life." He said as he walked up to them and took out two necklaces with dragons on them. Their Dragons were both black and held a ruby in their claws. What he did not tell them is the necklace also tracked their locations and had the same shielding function he planned to give Irina. They were also the prototypes for Irina's necklace. He planned to give these to people he saved in the future in case he ever needed their help. He then looked at Cleria and said. "You should use an Evil Piece to turn Masaomi into a devil. That way he is stronger and will have greater potential."

Cleria: "But if I do that Masaomi will be giving up his humanity." She said in a worried tone.

Masaomi: "I am willing to. Now that the church has abandoned me I have no reason to stay human. It will also allow me to stay by your side longer Cleria, so I have no regrets." He said while smiling at her.

Cleria: "Masaomi....." She said while blushing.

Issei: "Cough cough. Okay now that is out of the way, lets heal you both." He said while starting to cast healing magic on them both. When he was done he gave them their necklaces and watched as Cleria changed Masaomi into a devil. He then gave them both a small piece of metal with a magic circle engraved on it as well as three books. "The magic circle will allow you to talk to me when you need to without being traced. As for the books they contain magic spells and body strengthening techniques for devils. I want you both to continue training so that if I ever need your help in the future I can call on you."

Masaomi: "Thanks for all the help you have given us. If you need our help in the future we will be there." He said as he accepted the gifts.

Cleria: "Yeah you can count on us for help when you need it. I will also make sure that we both train hard to repay your kindness one day." She said while smiling at him.

Issei: "Well I will be going. You both be careful." He said as he walked away and then vanished in front of them. He had really just teleported to his room. He then sighed as he changed his height back and stored his mask. "That was tiring." He said as he collapsed on his bed and went to sleep.

End Flashback............

Issei: "Hi Touji. Is Irina in?" He asked as Touji let him in.

Touji: "She is waiting for you upstairs." He said as he walked towards the living room. "Make sure you say goodbye properly. You may not see her again."

Issei: "I will, but even if I do not see her I will still send letters and talk to her on the phone." He called back as he headed for the stairs. He then headed up to Irina's room and knocked on the door. Irina opened the door and looked at him with red eyes. It looked like she had been crying.

Irina: "Hi Issei, sorry for looking like this." She said as she looked down.

Issei: "Hey it's fine to cry when your sad or upset Irina. You do not need to apologize to me for caring." He said while smiling and putting a hand on her shoulder. "Now lets sit down and talk for awhile. I also have something to give you." He said while walking over to the desk and sitting on the chair.

Irina: "Something to give me?" She asked as she closed the door and sat down on her bed.

Issei: "Irina, what I am about to say you cannot tell to anyone. Can you do that for me?" He asked with a serious look on his face.

Irina: "Sure Issei, I can do that. What is so important you would be this serious about it?" She asked with a look of curiosity on her face.

Issei: "I am a mage Irina, and I made something to help keep you safe." He said while taking out the necklace. Irina had a shocked look on her face as she looked at Issei.

Irina: "You are a mage? Does that mean you know what my family is?" She asked nervously.

Issei: "Yes I do and I also know that when you get to England you will start training yourself. I wanted to help keep you safe so I made this." He said while holding out the necklace to her.

Irina: "Wow it is so beautiful Issei." She said with an enthralled look on her face as she held the necklace and looked at it.

Issei: "It is not just pretty. I Enchanted it with several abilities. They are healing, recovery, boost of your light element, and a charm that allows the chain to grow as you do so you do not need to change it." He said while smiling at her. "The healing speeds up your natural healing, so it kind of gives you a slow regeneration. Recovery speeds up the recovery of any energy you use, like your Holy element. The boost to your light element is self explanatory, and it is only a minor boost so do not get your hopes to high. With all of this it should be a little safer for you."

Irina: "Thank you Issei!" She said as she jumped up and hugged him. "I will always treasure this."

Issei: "Just make sure you stay alive out there and write when you can." He said while hugging her back. She started to cry after he said that.

Irina: "I will." She said as she continued to hug him and cry on his shoulder.

Issei: "Hey we can still see each other every now and then Irina. Maybe I can even come visit you. So stop crying." He said firmly as he gently patted her back.

Irina: "You will really come visit me?" She asked in a hopeful tone as she pulled back slightly and looked up at him.

Issei: "Of course I will, if you want me to. It will have to be on summer break and not every year but it is possible." He said while smiling at her and wiping her tears off with his thumb.

Irina: "Thank you Issei. That really means a lot to me." She said as she leaned back into him. She then closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.

Issei: "I can't believe she fell asleep as soon as she felt relieved." He said as he gently picked her up and put her to bed. "Sleep well Irina, I will see you when I come to visit." He said as he gently closed her door as he was leaving.
