Nox stared at the girl for a hard second.

Such a young girl and she's asking if she's at deaths door...? He thought to himself.

Before he could open his mouth, tears began falling onto the counter.

"I don't want to die!" The girl cried.

"J-just a moment...!" Nox waved his hands frantically.

"C-calm down...nobody said a word about dying!" He cried.

The girl quickly lifted her head.

"Then why..."

Nox walked over, and without thinking he embraced the girl.

"You're fine...I promise." He whispered, petting the girls head.

The girl slowly stopped trembling.

"Um...now then." Nox cleared his throat, getting up.

"How would you like to leave this place?" He smiled.

The girl quickly sat up.

"Really...?" She whispered.

"Mm!" Nox grinned.

"You'll be safe with me." He said, extending a hand.

The girl stared in awe.

"Where are we going...?" She asked, as Nox carried her out of the building.

Nox smiled softly.

"We're finally going home..." He whispered, stroking her head.

As he said that, a strong breeze blew across the field.

Nox's eyes widened as tears began welling.

"Thank you for your blessing..." He closed his eyes.

I'll protect your daughter from this cruel world...

"I promise." He whispered.
