The One Luna

Chapter 2 - Companion

Little did Luna know, that he was only half a second faster than the other person who would have gotten the reward, just that, that guy actually put 10 stats in Strength and 20 in Agility, he ended up hitting the zombie's shoulder instead of it's head, twice, which does very little towards killing a zombie.

After taking care of the zombie attacking Boni, Luna actually reached level 2, but Boni didn't. They figured it was due to Luna getting first blood and must have received bonus exp due to that.

"Holy shit, we just killed two people! Holy shit! We--" Boni was panicking. He didn't even notice that the two corpses vanished. Just that him and Luna beating on that corpse felt so real, it sounded real as well.

"Boni! Boni! Get ahold of yourself! Look, the bodies are gone. They're just like mobs in an MMORPG, okay? Calm down. Look, I even got a drop. It's a reward box, a unique reward. Just like an MMORPG, buddy." Luna was doing his best to calm him down.

After realizing that fact, Boni calmed down almost instantly.

"Oh, right. You're right. Bro, you mentioned you received a reward box? What is it?" Boni was really curious especially after finding out that it was described as a unique reward. Although everything felt real, the fact that it functioned just like an MMORPG, or more specifically, a VRMMORPG, made it much easier to accept. Little did they know that this was actually a good way to buffer the shock from killing actual people to survive later on.

"I don't know yet, I'll open it now." taking out the box out of his inventory right away, he proceeded to open it. A bright flash resulted from his actions, as the box disappeared and on the floor in front of them was what looked like an aged red book.

Active Skill: Summon Asura

Summons an Asura to fight by your side at the cost of 30 MP.

Consumes 1 Skill point.

Companion Tab is unlocked upon learning this skill.

Summoned companion will receive the same EXP for every kill the caster makes and vice-versa.

Stats will mirror the caster's, but due to the Asura race's innate talent, stats are 10% more than caster.

New skill will be learned every 10 levels, and previous skills will be upgraded subsequently.

-----------------------------

"Bro, what the hell?! That sounds OP!" Boni reacted as Luna finished reading out the skill description.

Luna proceeded to learn the skill as he noticed a Companion window appear in his consciousness. "Summon Asura!"

A flash of light appeared as a lithe, athletically slim, and proud figure appeared, kneeling on one knee.

"Greetings master!"

"Luna... she's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life. Is she single?" Boni shamelessly asked, as he couldn't even stop staring.

"Shut your mouth!" Luna quickly replied as he elbowed Boni on the ribs.

"Ow ow ow! Kidding! Kidding!" pretending to be hurt.

"You may stand..." right after the female Asura stood up, he asked "What is your name?"

"Answering master's question, I have no name as of yet, that would be up to you." her limpid eyes stared back at him as if they could pierce his very soul, as her jet black hair flowed naturally down just before reaching the middle of her back, she truly was an otherworldly beauty, one that could cause the downfall of an Empire. Her features were definitely oriental, but he couldn't quite figure out if she was more Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Filipina, or a mix of all four.

She was only wearing cloth wraps to cover her A-Cup b.r.e.a.s.ts, the same with the rest of her body, so Luna quickly got her a shirt, a hoodie, and a pair of sweatpants, as well as a pair of shoes that he had outgrown, since she was a size smaller than him. Somehow this new get-up made her look even more beautiful.

"Master, what would you like to call me?" she asked as Luna and Boni seemed to be distracted.

"Ah! Do you have anything you would prefer?"

"Mmm... Sura."

"Wow, next level naming." Boni couldn't help but comment.

Luna smacked Boni upside the head as he replied, "Alright, Sura it is then."

The next 30 minutes, Luna spent reading the intro manual and checking Sura's stats and skills out, thus he managed to learn a few things.

Firstly that every level would add a +1 to all stats, besides the stats that a person allocates.

Every point in Strength added 1 to melee Physical attack, every total of 10 points would give an extra 5 physical attack. This was before any mitigation was applied. Of course, even though these were game elements, there were still elements which the unknown entity wanted everyone to figure out for themselves.

Agility boosted a person's overall speed, but would tire them out faster, if their Vitality stat was too low.

Dexterity affected your accuracy, this was assuming it was a non-moving target, so a person with high Agility could still give someone who invested a lot of points into DEX a run for his money. Luna assumed that If the difference was too huge, the person would probably just miss completely, this would need more testing. Of course, if your accuracy was high and you hit your mark, like say, a zombie's head, based on the rules of real life, you'd do more damage.

Intelligence boosts your magic attack, your MP regeneration rate per 30 seconds, your total MP pool, and your defense against magic related attacks. Basically a stat for casters, which Luna thought would be at a huge disadvantage this early, assuming everybody only got a wooden club and no skills to start off with.

Vitality affected your total HP, every point increases your HP by 50, your physical damage mitigation, resistances to any form of status effects, including zombie infection by 1% per point of VIT. Most importantly, VIT affected your endurance. You could be incredibly strong with high STR, but if you had low VIT, you'd tire easily.

With this in mind, Luna and Boni decided that the best route was to have balanced stats. A hybrid build, basically.

Leveling up to level 2, gave Luna 1 more stat point to allocate, but no skill points. He opted to put a point in Vitality for now, he wanted to get this stat to 10, so he can at least fight extended battles without worrying too much.

"Time to check Sura's skills." All he had to do was will it, and he'd be able to view Sura's stats in his consciousness, the same way he would when he wanted check his own information.

-----------------------------

Sura's Skills

Passive: Sword Mastery.

Increases attack damage(only applies to total weapon damage) by 10% per sword equipped and increases attack speed by 10% per sword equipped. Maximum of 60% when using <6-armed Asura Mode>(Skill not yet learned.)

This bonus only applies to <system> recognized equipment.

-----------------------------

Passive: Innate Talent

Asura's potential is the highest out of every race in general.

10% additional stats based off of the caster's base stats.

"With this, we shouldn't have too much of a problem surviving for now, but that doesn't mean we can slack off. That entity wanted us to evolve and become strong, my guess is that eventually the zombies will evolve, possibly animals as well." Luna had a worried look on his face, as he glanced at Sura, and then Boni.

"It's full on chaos out there, Luna. It's all over the internet."

"I know... but our first goal is to get stronger, then we can worry about helping others, and potentially set up a base, but none of that will be possible if we're too weak." Luna looked at Sura and said "Let's go, it's not exactly the MMORPG we were hoping for, but it's do or die."
