The One Luna

Chapter 71 - Gains

Even though getting all those levels was the biggest gain he received, he managed to receive the loot for killing Juan as well.

-------------------------------

You've obtained <Visanium> x 200

-------------------------------

He wasn't quite sure just how much 200 chunks of <Visanium>, but it sure as hell wasn't a bad thing.

-------------------------------

You've obtained <Luzonium> x 800.

-------------------------------

The next pieces he received were something new. While the <Visanium> had a deep blue color to it, <Luzonium> looked almost like crystalized blood, but it was just as tough as it's counterpart.

-------------------------------

<Luzonium>

Used to upgrade Armor. Every failure increases the chance to succeed in every subsequent attempt.

The chance to succeed drastically goes down after +6.

Equipment will not be damaged when failing towards +7 and +8 but will consume materials.

Going to +9 and higher carries the risk of damaging equipment.

The user must then pay the appropriate amount of currency to repair the damaged piece of equipment.

Upgrading stations are not needed in order to use these materials or to repair armor after failed attempts towards +9 or higher.

-------------------------------

After seeing the description, even Luna was tempted. He pressed one of the small, round, crystal pieces onto a +6 upper body armor piece that he had in his inventory until he eventually inserted five.

The armor piece glowed red.

The red glow, which was actually the crystal changing form to surround the armor, started to glow brighter gradually, it seemed as if it was reaching its climax when all of a sudden, it shattered. Luna heard what sounded like a gem that just got split in half. The "crystal" covering the armor piece split in half, fell, and then like dust, scattered into the wind.

Evidently, it cost five Luzonium per attempt going to +7. He kept trying again and again. On the 6th attempt, a different scene played out. Instead of the crystal breaking and scattering like dust, it hardened even more, and it slowly seeped into the armor piece.

SUCCESS!

After failing 5 times, it finally succeeded on the 6th try. There was no fanfare like in an actual MMORPG, but the notification that it succeeded more than satisfying enough. The defense increase at +7 surpassed even that of the bonus given from +4 to +6 combined. This was definitely a huge gain.

But.

"Here, you guys deserve this." He tossed it over to the two squads and Elder Aran. He already gained much from this trip, he wouldn't be so greedy as to leave the everyone else with nothing. "You guys can decide on who gets that armor piece. As for these remaining <Luzonium>, there are 770 left, divide it amongst yourselves."

The soldiers and even Elder Aran were ecstatic. Weapons were definitely great, but the added protection from armor meant better chances of survival. What was the point of being able to kill fast if you died faster, after all?

"Lord Luna, are you sure? Out of everyone here, either you, Lady Sura, Lady Maxene, or Elder Aran would make the best use of this." One of the Squad Captains said.

"Do you see me as someone who thinks himself as a God and thinks of you all as ants? That I would only prioritize myself and leave you all less capable?" He replied.

"N-no, I didn't mean it like that, Lord Luna. I apologize." He replied.

"Don't apologize. You've contributed, so naturally, you should receive the spoils as well, isn't that right?" Luna smiled. He wasn't really offended by their words, he just wanted to say it in a way that would impact them.

"Yes."

"Never think that any of your comrade's survival is more important than yours or less important than yours. That includes me. You worked hard for it, and so you received what belongs to you."

"We understand, Lord Luna. Thank you!" They all replied. They were truly grateful. Such a valuable resource was given to them, after all. Even the +7 armor was given to them. Even better, it was upper body armor, the most valuable piece, albeit, not by a long shot, when compared to the arm, leg, glove, and head pieces.

"Alright, use it wisely. Get every armor piece to +7 first before you spend more going to +8." Luna said as he took out another item from his inventory. "It seems we've gained yet another Agimat."

-------------------------------

<Crown of Tarhata Kiram>

A Crown belonging to Princess Tarhata Kiram, the Westernized Filipina Princess. She was known as a woman who was ahead of her time. She went to the University of Illinois but would leave after two years to return to her people.

What was unknown was that she had ended up finding an artifact, a crown from ancient times which gave her the additional advantage, along with the knowledge she gained in the West, to come back home. With all of this at her disposal, she would eventually oust her eventual husband's three other rivals from their home.

She would eventually pass away and the crown would be passed along as it continued to absorb atmospheric energy. A capability that was possible due to Tarhata's help. One of the reasons she headed back home, was because one of the materials the Crown needed could only be found in the Philippines. Unfortunately, during her lifetime, the Crown would recover too little to give her any overwhelming advantages. Fortunately enough as well, she was considered Tabula Rasa like every human on Earth. If not, then she wouldn't have gained any sort of advantage from it, nor even have the chance to be chosen by it.

Agimat: Increases Magic Attack by 10% to the whole <Nation> once installed. Can be equipped to increase Magic attack by 50%.

-------------------------------

"A Crown? Elder Aran, isn't it supposed to be in the form of a pair of elemental knuckles like you said?" Luna asked. He recalled the Elder's description of the different types of Agimat.

-------------------------------

Flashback: "The Magic attack Agimat is in the form of an elemental knuckle, much like the one Apple has, but much stronger, and can adapt to whatever the user's elemental affinity is."

-------------------------------

But this one was in the form of a Crown. In the front, it was inlaid with three gems, a large sapphire gem in the middle, and a pair of diamonds that were half the size, each placed on both sides of the sapphire. The diamonds were both pear-shaped, and the sapphire was circular.

"Ah, this... I've seen multiple and it has always been in the form of a knuckle." He was a bit embarrassed. He didn't want it to seem as if he was a fake, but he didn't really know how to explain himself. "Could it be possible that there were more Agimats than I thought?"

"It's possible that the Agimats from the other worlds have been spread out across this planet. Maybe this one wasn't from your world?" Sura shared her thoughts.

"That must be why." Elder Aran agreed. He truly wasn't lying before. This reasoning was acceptable as well, due to the fact that the situation on Earth could not be compared to the previous worlds.

"Whatever the case, Elder Aran, you should wear it for now." Luna passed it over to him.

"Right. If we come across any more high-level beings like Juan, at least we'll be more equipped." He replied.

"Let's not be greedy. We've gained quite a lot already. Let's harvest all the <Visanium> we came across first. I'll have weapons modified into Pickaxes manufactured. Our priority is still the same. We need to conquer this island and build our defenses. Negros, Panay, Guimaras, and Elf island will be our main territory." Luna replied. If there was a being even stronger and more competent than Juan, they would end up dying needlessly.

Once this whole island was conquered, and they got stronger, they could always go back. But for now, the vast amounts of <Visanium> was their priority.
