The Only Delicacy

30 A Beautiful View

'Huh? Did I hear correctly?' Her heart raced and her mind became bombarded with questions.

"Afraid that what?!" When she had realized that she had not heard wrongly, Nene immediately became afraid also. Was there something she also missed or failed to realize?

"Afraid that we came in too late, idiot. Why are you being so flustered? Didn't you remember that we searched exactly for 2 hours just to find them in the restrooms? So, isn't it normal for them to finish their business before that time or once they realize that a storm was coming? Idiot!" Jojo spontaneously threw a lot of questions that left Nene stunned, silent, and unable to retaliate.

Because of Jojo's merciless remarks, Nene had no choice but to sadly acknowledge the fact that she was really an idiot.

Seeing how her best friend was so down because of how frank she was, Jojo became slightly guilty, so she patted her best friend's back and politely said, "Well, you're not the only idiot in this world, you know? In fact, I should've thought about this sooner before we ran here. Not only that, it's my fault that we actually had to run all around the restrooms for nothing."

After she had said that, Jojo immediately became regretful with her thoughtless words. She was too frank that she even unknowingly hurt herself because of it.

That was another lesson, she mentally noted in the back of her mind.

"Yeah, you're right! I'm not the only idiot!" Nene immediately beamed at Jojo with a huge grin, making Jojo want to pluck all her teeth out so that she could not grin anymore.

Before Jojo could really pluck her teeth out or retaliate, Nene unknowingly saved herself by looking upwards, "Oh! Jojo, look! The storm's stopping! The dark clouds are going away! I wonder if there might be a rainbow after!"

Seeing how happy her best friend looked, Jojo slowly looked up towards the sky and smiled.

Indeed, it had been a while since she had took the time to adore mother nature. It had also been too long when she had relaxed like this; when she had felt her shoulders were without any responsibilities.

Once she looked back towards her best friend to see her reaction, Nene was slightly stunned. Jojo actually smiled for the first time in a long while!

Moreover, it was such a pretty smile! Pretty enough to be an actress!

'Of course, my idol, Scarlet-sama, is a thousand times prettier!' She silently whispered that fact to herself.

Regardless of who was prettier, Jojo really had no time for herself or for their friendship, because she had to bear the responsibilities as a president and an honor student.

Every day, it was only work and burdens for her.

Therefore, now that Nene had seen her smile, she would absolutely treasure this moment.

Jojo became slightly startled upon the contact, but she immediately responded by tightly holding on to her hand while also smiling towards the sky.

As they looked up towards the rainbow slowly forming amidst the red and yellowish skies, both best friends thought to themselves as if they were speaking to their idols, "If it had not been for your doings, we would have really forgotten to spend time for ourselves. We would absolutely treasure our first mistake, because this would be our first memory and our first step in becoming the best leaders of your fan club! This would be the only way we could repay the both of you back!"

Thank you, dear idols.

As the storm quickly subsided, one of the brave students, who was not hiding under the desks but enjoying the storm, looked towards the window and burst out with joy, "Hey guys! Look outside!"

"Why should we?! You want us to die?!" The other students immediately retaliated; both exhausted from the turn of events and annoyed at how inconsiderate this guy was ever since the beginning.

"Well, if you don't look outside, it's your loss. Don't tell me I didn't warn you so!" The boy grinned while enjoying the whole view for himself. His classmates were too much of a scaredy cat.

How would they even grow and take risks if they stay that way?

Unbeknownst to the whole class, this boy was the most wise and courageous out of all of them.

The boy always adapted and observed instead of hiding away, never once inconsiderate to other people's feelings.

As the most curious and talkative girl in class, she could not help but succumb to the boy's temptation. So, the girl, who was hiding under the teacher's table, got out of her hiding area and looked towards the window, making her immediately become stunned by the view.

"Wah!" The girl beamed with delight and stood more upright.

"See?! She's screaming because of how scared she was! Everyone, get back down!" One of the irritated students yelled out, while the whole class followed his orders.

'This class is hopeless,' the boy thought while amused, as he looked at everything happening before him.

"No! Not that! It's beautiful!" The girl immediately screamed to the top of her lungs.

From her shocking statement, everyone immediately disregarded that student's warning and got out of their hiding areas. Even the student, who had warned them, unwillingly got up and looked at the window.

Right then, they immediately became stunned speechless.

Everyone in the academy forgot about their responsibilities and their burdens. Even the teacher, who was supposed to look for the 3 missing students, forgot all about it and enjoyed the view that only happens once in a blue moon.

Not only the students, but the whole city was now gasping at such a beautiful view. Indeed, this was the first time they had seen 3 clear and big rainbows amidst the slightly red and yellowish skies, making it look even more heavenly and otherworldly.

They all thought, "Perhaps having a storm wasn't that bad after all."

Of course, even if they thought that way, no one wanted to experience something horrifying like that again for just 3 rainbows.

Afterwards, all the students and the academy's staff proceeded to go home or finish their remaining businesses, while the entire city proceeded to clean up the remaining debris and mess or simply rest it off and leave it for tomorrow.

Once the higher-ups saw the turn of events for the better, they immediately beamed with joy and became extremely grateful towards that little girl, Scarlet. If not for her, then the world would really be in chaos.

Yes, their prayers were answered!

Because of how happy they were, they willingly vowed to themselves that they would treat this girl better and pay her back once the time comes.

However, what they could only do now was to ask the superiors to bless that girl with a faster recovery, for they could not help but be pitiful towards their savior's present state.

Fortunately, the superiors accepted their appeal and immediately bestowed the baby cupid a small healing magic for physical outer injuries, not internal injuries.

That was the most they could do in order to not rouse up the jealousy by other cupids.

While looking towards the clouds for a couple of minutes, Jojo turned around and looked at her best friend, while pulling her backward and saying, "That's enough. If we spend any more time here, we would really end up having colds. Since we don't have extra uniforms, let's clean ourselves by heading towards the clinic."

"Mhm! Okay, president!" Nene happily replied while following her best friend's lead.

Nene absolutely did not mind catching a cold, because the memory and the experience were way more important. But, since Jojo cared for her health, then she would happily obey.
