The Pokemon Emissary Among Worlds

Inside a forest, Naruto was sparring against Vulpix to better understand each other's fighting style. He absorbed Pidgey to familiarized himself with the increased speed in his body and clearer vision. When the fox pokemon emitted a black flame from his mouth, he dodged to the right and was about to follow it up with a 'Gust' skill when he noticed that Vulpix stopped moving, his face turned southwest. He wiped the sweat off his face and shouted, "Hey, Kyuubi! Did someone catch your attention?"

Kurama was astounded when he felt the energy he needed to become a God suddenly filling his body. "Is this the help that the brat was talking about?"

A quadruped pokémon covered in thick, luxurious golden-white fur appeared after the light dissipated. He had a small mane of thicker fur around his neck and a long, fluffy crest atop his head. When he realized what happened, he moved his slender legs with three-toed paws and nine and long tails with pale orange tips waved on his back as he looked at Okami with his red eyes.

Okami was delighted when Fire Stone was finally unlocked, considering there were two pokemon available in this world that needed Fire Stone to evolve - Vulpix and Growlithe. He checked further and found out that it requires only 100 PP but required 5,000 Ryo when bought in money.

Okami canceled learning Hypnosis while deleting Flamethrower in favor of Nasty Plot. Even though accuracy was very important in Pokemon games, it did not matter to him because the success rate in this world was determined by chakra control when in absorbed mode, assuring him that his focus would not be hindered at all. Besides, increasing his attack two notches higher was a very good supplementary skill to ignore.

When he was done, he unsummoned the Pokemon App and petted the newly evolved Ninetales. "Good job! You look more regal-looking than ever."

Hiruzen had this unsettling feeling inside his heart while looking at the pokemon. Ninetales reminded him of Kyuubi even though their colors and sizes were different. "Is that Vulpix?"

Okami nodded. "This is Ninetales. Thanks to you, he finally evolved into his highest form."

Everyone was in awe with how majestic the pokemon was. They were hesitant to approach him even though they wanted to because of his kingly stature.

Okami unsummoned Ninetales and gave Hiruzen another bow as a sign of his respect and gratitude. He then chatted with him as they waited for Kakashi to exit the Pokemon Safari. After an hour, the entrance distorted and Kakashi emerged from the space distortion.

Kakashi looked around and realized that his time was over. "Oh, so it's done."

"Welcome back, Kakashi-sensei. How's your experience inside the Pokemon Safari?"

"Just like how I first visited the forest but at least I know what I am doing this time, thereby not wasting any time." Kakashi saw Hiruzen and the rest flocking towards him and said, "Hokage-sama! Why are you here?"

Hiruzen chuckled. "I just want to check on you. Were you able to catch what you wanted?"

Kakashi nodded. "I wasted all my Safari balls at a single pokemon. I never knew that it's so hard to catch one unlike my previous attempt with Growlithe."

"At least you did it on your first 5,000 Ryo. You could have spent additional money and still not get what you've wanted," Okami commented. "Anyway, let's go back to the healing station to check its Pokedex entry."

They agreed and followed Okami back to his shop. When they were inside, Deira and the rest saw them and were excited when they found out that Kakashi was successful.

Kakashi surrendered the Safari ball to Baki, who then placed it on the waiting pot while tinkering with the panel board. When he was done, the screen behind him flickered and an image was flashed on it.

Baki removed the Safari ball from the pot and handed it to Okami.

"Do you want this as your pokemon starter, Kakashi-sensei?"

"Yes."

Okami started the ritual and a huge white chakra mass swiveled around Kakashi while Ditto's image appeared right above his head. As soon the last bit of chakra was absorbed by Kakashi's body, the Safari Ball on Okami's hand disintegrated.

Kakashi summoned Ditto but unlike Okami's, this particular Ditto stayed the same without copying anyone as soon as it appeared.

Okami moved closer to Baki and whispered, "Show him the Pokedex."

Baki complied with his request by summoning his Pokedex and said, "If you want to know more about Ditto's ability, you better check this via the Pokedex."

Kakashi inspected the small device once he received it from Baki. After listening to his instructions, Kakashi turned on the Pokedex while facing Ditto and its basic information was flashed on the screen.

Kakashi commanded the pokemon to copy himself. As soon as he was done, Ditto expanded and became another Kakashi with dotted eyes.

Hiruzen was not impressed because he could still determine who was the original one by their eyes. "What can it do, Kakashi?"

"Theoretically, it can use all my Jutsu but I still have to try it to test its battle strength," Kakashi explained as he unsummoned Ditto. He then shifted his attention to Okami, saying, "Thank you, Okami-kun. I have to leave because I still have to feed the cats I've passed a while ago."

Okami's lips twitched when he heard his ridiculous reason. "Well, you better hurry or he might die waiting for you, Kakashi-sensei."

Kakashi turned around and bid goodbye to Hiruzen and the rest. After doing so, he finally exited the Pokemon Center.

Hiruzen and the rest left as well after a few minutes. It was already closing time and the only people left were Team Deira, Tomiro, Baki and Okami.

Okami approached his team. "Everyone, I've got something to say but I don't know how to put it to make it less unpleasant to you. But I still have to say this because it hinders my original goal. Can you convince the Hokage to revoke my Chunin application?"

Deira shifted his glasses slightly, his eyes fixated on Okami. "Why?"

Taeho frowned. "But it was Hokage-sama who formed this team."

Okami sighed. "The truth is, I don't want to become a Chunin. In fact, I don't want to be burdened with doing missions for the rest of my life."

"But why? Isn't it the purpose of being a ninja, Bro Okami?" Anita asked.

"But I am not a ninja, Anita. I am a Pokemon Trainer. Even though a ninja can use Pokemon Jutsu while a Pokemon Trainer can manipulate chakra to use ninjutsu and genjutsu, their beliefs are not the same. The former one believes in following rules, missions and killing while the latter upholds freedom and life preservation."

There was still some hesitation in Deira's eyes but after thinking it over, he eventually nodded. "I can see your point. I'll try my best in persuading Hokage-sama but expect for the worst."

"Thank you, Deira-sensei. In return, I can let you become a Pokemon Ranger if you want to further your pokemon studies."

Deira's eyes lit up. "Explain."

"You will have direct access to the Pokemon Safari at all times and your visiting time will be unlimited. As a bonus, you can catch the pokemon you find inside as long as you have sufficient money to pay for the Safari balls but you still have to follow the basic rules when inside the Pokemon Safari."

"Then turn me into a Pokemon Ranger!" Deira shouted, his hands grabbing Okami's shoulders. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"

"Hey! Okami, can you let me become one as well?" Taeho interrupted.

"Bro Okami! Please? I want to visit the pokemon every day," Anita added.

Okami laughed. "Help Deira-sensei convinced Hokage-sama in revoking my pass."

"But you can just choose to not appear in Room 301," Taeho rebutted.

"And create a bad impression to Hokage-sama? No, thank you. Why do you think I'm making this effort to voice out what I wanted to do? I'm not that dumb." Okami snapped at him and looked at Deira again before continuing, "Please find me after you are done with it, Deira-sensei."

"Right away!" Deira exited the shop immediately after hearing Okami's words. Taeho ran after him while Anita bade goodbye to her father with a loud voice before leaving as well.

Okami analyzed his present situation and realized that his main objective would contradict with the Leaf's interest. He suspected that once they found out his real aim of spreading pokemon influences around the continent, they would stop him because the Leaf did not want to let others enjoy these powers as well. If he had to believe the anime and manga, then he was sure that they would be planning to obstruct this plan to make sure that I would be controlled by Konoha.

"What should I do?" Okami took a seat and mused over the things that happened from the time he became a Pokemon Emissary until today. He realized that the only way he could proceed with his plans was to leave Konoha but he knew that he was not yet ready. Besides, he still had to think about Tomiro and Baki's safety since they were the members of his clan as well.

'I don't want them to consider me as a missing Nin like Itachi but when push comes to shove, then I won't have a choice but to make some drastic actions,' he wryly thought.

Baki noticed that Okami was in deep thoughts. He approached the kid and offered a cup of juice, "Is something bothering you, young Okami?"

Okami looked up and smiled. "Your eyes are sharp as ever, old Baki. Yes, there is something that keeps disturbing my mind."

"How about confiding your troubles to me?"

Okami paused a bit when he saw Tomiro heading towards them as well. As soon as the grown man arrived, he continued, "You're a part of the Ketchum clan, old Baki and this concerns your fate as well. But before I proceed, let me ask you something. What would you do if the village will control your actions and stop your goals in life?"

Baki frowned. "I will leave and find a place where I can be free. Simple as that."

"Even if it's hard and you have to oppose the village because losing you is a big no to them?"

Baki nodded. "I may not be a ninja but I still have my pride as a human being. What's the use of living an unfulfilled life?"

"What if someone holds your loved one as a hostage and threatens to kill her once you leave?"

Baki imagined the situation and shivered. "What do you mean by that, Okami? Are we in danger?"

Tomiro scratched his head. "Yeah, Boss. Everything you said sounded ominous."

Okami shrugged his shoulders. "What if I tell you that we have to leave the village if we want to maintain our freedom, would you do it?"

"You don't have to ask that, young Okami. Of course, I'll leave. After all, I could have been dead already if you did not save me back then. We owe you our lives."

Tomiro gave him a thumbs-up. "No matter where you go, I will surely follow, Boss. You are the reasonwhy I am alive right now. If not for your timely assistance, I surely would have lost my mother as well. So, no questions needed."

Okami believed them because he was also aware that people would become very loyal once they became members of the clan through the rituals using the Pokemon App. "In that case, let me start by telling you a story..."
