The Pokemon Emissary Among Worlds

Chapter 95 - Reports (2)

Okami waited for the other side to answer the call, wondering how the XTransceiver could contact another world. He suspected that it was because of Palkia's powers that made all these things possible.

After several minutes, the call finally got through and the XTransceiver flashed the images of his two old friends on the screen simultaneously.

"Old Baki! Tomiro-Niisan!"

Tomiro's eyes reddened when he saw Okami, whom he considered as his younger brother, back even though it was just through the XTransceiver. "Okami!"

Baki wiped his eyes and smiled vibrantly. "Young man, why did you call just now..."

Toki rushed to Baki and asked, "Father, Boss's back?!"

"Yes, son."

Akita quickened her pace and went beside Tomiro and whispered, "Son, is it Okami-kun?"

Tomiro nodded his head and moved his XTransceiver so that she could see the screen clearly.

Okami saw all these things and waved his free hand. "Hah! How's life back there in Konoha?"

"We're not in Konoha anymore," Baki answered matter-of-factly. "Somehow, the Pokemon Center was teleported to the snowy plains just beside the Three Wolves. "

"That's true. It's been a year since we are staying here but the barriers protected us from the cold weather, human attacks, and animal assaults," Tomiro added.

When Okami heard Baki mentioning the Three Wolves, the Land of Iron was the first place that entered his mind. As far as he could remember, that was where the samurais lived, who were known to be powerful sword users. "Wow. I already suspected that many changes will happen once I leave Konoha but this, I was not expecting at all."

"Where are you? When will you come back?" Baki asked.

Okami sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "Will you believe me when I say that I am currently inside another world right now?"

Tomiro laughed and said, "You jest! You stop kidding around and tell us where you truly are."

When Baki and Tomiro realized that Okami was serious, their eyes widened in disbelief.

"If that is the case, then it's no wonder why everyone can't find you..." Baki commented.

Okami chuckled. "I'm indeed telling you the truth." He moved his XTransceiver to let them have a clear view of the wide seas and continued, "This is the world of One Piece."

"How is that possible?!" Baki noticed that Okami was surrounded by seawaters and inquired further, "Are you in the middle of the ocean right now? I can't see no land at all."

"Yes. I'm about to do some training but it's too much of a hassle to explain. You just have to know that I'm not in the Elemental Nations right now."

Since the world limitation was lifted up, Okami was able to inform them about his current whereabouts without penalties. He further told them what happened to him for the past two years.

"Wait a minute," Tomiro cut him off and remarked, "But you've just been missing for a year."

Okami narrowed his eyes and wondered if this was the result of the time compression that Dialga was referring to before he ascended to the world of One Piece. "Well, it does not matter. Anyway, where's Anita-chan?"

Baki's face became gloomy once he heard his daughter's name. "I don't know. The only people with me right now are Toki, Tomiro, and Akita. I was not able to see my daughter since we've teleported right at the snowy plains."

"I'm sorry to hear that, Old Baki." Okami was curious about the situation of his friends and asked, "Can you tell me any news about Konoha and the rest of the villages?"

"We can't leave here so we decided to ask for help from the locales to get some news. Luckily, Miss Okita came yesterday and we've received substantial information about the events within the past year," Baki explained.

Okami remembered the female merchant whom she met at Konoha before he left the Elemental Nations. "How is she? And how did she find out your location?"

"She's doing great. When she heard that we've gone missing, she created a search party to look for our whereabouts. Fortunately, a month after you've left, she visited one of her shops in the Land of Iron and accidentally found our location on her way to the Three Wolves. Don't you know that she has branches all over the major villages and countries?" Baki commented.

"Indeed. She is the reason why our Pokemon Center is a hit despite its nasty location," Tomiro added. "She always endorses our shop wherever she goes. By the way, we've been continuing our business partnership and our merchandise sold like Ramen and Sushi."

"Did the Konoha ninjas give you a hard time when they've found out where you are?" Okami asked.

"Yes. Some Konoha masked ninjas tried apprehending us but they were not able to do so because of the guardian's protection," Baki explained, his eyes narrowed into a slit. "Some ninjas also spied on us every now and then. As far as I can tell, you are the reason why they are coming here from time to time."

"Even Inoichi-san and Shikaku-san traveled all the way here just to look for you," Tomiro reported. "He also gave us books and reports as to their progress in Pokemon Jutsu and the development of the pokemon as a whole, just in case you return here. They say it's part of your deal. Sorry, I don't know what they actually meant about that."

"Tell me more about Konoha first."

Baki took out a notebook from his drawer. "I've been keeping a diary ever since we've arrived here a year ago. Sad to say, even with all the preparations they had done, Hokage was killed by Orochimaru. Sasuke-kun was reported as a missing-nin and your friends were separated and did their own thing. There was a mass funeral after the assault. The only good thing that resulted from this was Suna's reaction to the event. The relationship between the villages became stronger."

Okami frowned when he found out that the original plot still happened despite his warnings. "Well, tell me about the others?"

Baki nodded his head. "Naruto-kun went to train with Jiraiya-sama while Sakura stayed with the current Hokage, Tsunade-sama, one of the Sannins. Akira-san and his team became Hunter-nins and they are the ones who are actively pursuing you. Okami, you've become a missing-nin and the elders particularly want to capture you alive, well, according to our sources."

Okami absorbed all these details and analyzed them to have a clear picture of Konoha. After a few minutes, he asked, "What about the news outside Konohagakure?"

"Well, remember the legendary Pokemon birds that you were talking about? One of them, Moltres, disappeared all of a sudden. It was last seen flying above the volcanic ridge formed at the desert within the Land of Wind. The Suna ninjas were happy about it because the threat to their village was gone but others were anxious," Baki explained in one breathing.

"Many ninjas visited the Land of Snow because of the legendary ice bird. They want to capture this pokemon and make it as their own," Tomiro informed him as he took a seat. "And to make things more interesting, the Pokemon Intelligence Division released an official statement in Konoha, declaring that ninjas can finally catch pokemon by using Pokeballs and use them in a fight as well even without becoming Pokemon Trainers through your powers."

Okami understood what Tomiro was referring to. Previously, a person had to undergo the ritual to become Pokemon Trainers before they could release the Pokemon inside the Pokeballs. He had an inkling suspicion inside his heart that this is one of the effects of the world restriction being gone due to his ascension.

Baki did not wait for Okami to ask him and continued his report. "I don't know if this helps but there is a strange sighting at the Land of the Whirlpool. One of the islands is rumored to be shrouded in mysterious light and several weird pokemon were seen thriving around the area. Currently, it is a hotspot for Pokemon Trainers. There are witnesses saying that three people could be seen going in and out of the island but nobody could recognize them because their bodies and faces were expertly covered."

Okami did not know what to make of it but he sensed that this was important so he urged them to get some news about this.

He also found out that Miss Okita was the one who introduced the Pokemart merchandise to the hidden villages and different countries she visited. This was a win-win scenario for both parties.

As a result, the population of the traditional Pokemon Trainers increased due to the availability of Pokeballs sold in Miss Okita's shops. At once, Miss Okita informed them about the PC services, the Healing Station, and the Pokemart back in the snowy plains. These new Pokemon Trainers were all the more eager to visit the only existing Pokemon Center after finding out that they could also learn more about pokemon.

Okami instructed them what to do and continued their conversation for about two hours until Glen called his attention.

"Boss! We're here!" Glen shouted as he wondered who Okami was talking to. "I see some monsters running beside the seashore."

Okami looked at where Glen was pointing at and noticed the monsters busily chewing something besides the sea. "Okay. Let's choose that place."

Tomiro heard a man's voice and asked, "Who's that, Boss?"

Okami smiled. "He's Glen. He is one of us and a Pokemon Trainer as well."

Baki hesitated for a before he eventually inquired, "Can we visit that world?"

"A good question. Unfortunately, I don't know how to answer that." Okami wondered if it was possible for him to bring people from the other world to visit his current location. No matter, it was enough for him to talk with them and know that they were alright. With nothing left to talk about, he bade goodbye and ended the call.

Okami instructed his Gyarados to swim faster and reached the island while the three others followed behind him. When he was a few meters away from the shore, he could clearly see what was happening in front of him. Three toupards were voraciously eating a dead gorilla-like monster. He recalled his first encounter with a toupard when he trained his Altered Ninetales form for the first time. "This brings back memories. Well, finish them, Glen."

Glen nodded and leaped toward the seashore. When he saw that the toupards finally detected his presence, he gathered his stamina on his hands and a miniature hurricane was form on both sides. He immediately hurled it against the monsters, successfully hitting them with his Twister attacks.

One of the toupards flinched while the other two were tossed several meters away from the corpse.

At once, Glen used Scary Face and lowered the enemies' speed by two stages and buffed himself with Dragon Dance, increasing his speed and attack at the same time. He attacked the flinched toupard with a devastating Thrash attack, smashing its bones with a single punch.

Since the Thrash skill was still active, he continued hitting the other toupard with another punch and killed it directly. When he noticed that the last one was trying to escape, he tried punching it but he realized that his body was not listening to him at all. Instead of punching, he kicked the empty air, thereby missing the monster.

Sad to say, the toupard was able to escape to the nearby forest.

Glen attempted to walk forward but his feet moved backward. Helpless, he shouted, "Boss! Help! My body's not listening to me."

Okami's mouth twitched when he discerned that Glen was in Confusion state because the Thrash skill's effect was just finished. He was wondering why in the world would Glen used such a skill to finish multiple enemies.
