The President's Lover is a Fighter

Andrea felt a little wary of being brought to the stage with him. She did not want to humiliate him so she could punch her way out of this one. She could see Xio Hanxi at the far end of the crowd giving her that 'What the hell are you doing, Andy look!'

"I'm sure you are probably wondering why I have my girlfriend with me up on this podium. This was not part of the plan, but circumstances brought me to this decision."

"Let me ask everyone in this room, if you agree, raise your hand, apart from my mother, do you think my girlfriend is the most beautiful girl in this room tonight?"

Everyone raised their hands, both men and girls. Even Lu Jie raised his hand. The only person looking bitter in the room not raising her hand is Wu Meiwan.

Now, let me ask all the men in the room if you were single and do not know this woman is my girlfriend, would you approach her seeing her sitting on a table by herself? Raise your hand if your answer is yes."

There were several men, especially those without any partners who raised their hands.

"Thank you. That is the reason why I would rather bring her with me on stage. I want everyone to know that she is mine and mine alone."

Most of the men began laughing while most of the women melted with jealousy. Lu Jie, surprisingly, was laughing without restraint. He thought his grandson sure knew what he wants and does it without apprehension.

Lu Fang then started to move on to the significant part of his message, highlighting the plans for new and rising Lu-Wei Enterprises.

"It is time for this company to be at par with the others who claim to be the best, adapt to the change and I mean digitally. My first project will include powering an e-commerce site and introduce it to the global market employing more than 500 employees by the end of this year."

Applause could be heard across the venue excited for the upcoming growth of the company.

"This means movement and promotions for all employees here today!"

The praises from the employees were evident that some stoop up while clapping their hands.

Andrea could not help but smile seeing the excitement in their eyes and she looked back at the man who was giving them a chance for growth. He was confident and passionate. She had seen him exert much effort into his work despite obstacles. On top of that, he was charismatic. She could not help daydream about the bright future they had together.

"As you may know, recently our family faced a difficult time. It's not every day, your life is being threatened. This threat caused a strain on me and my family, but aside from my family, Andrea helped me through it. If not for here, I might not be here today. If not for her, we would still be hiding and postponing this very event."

Lu Fang paused and took a moment to reach out and hold her hand.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank her with all my heart." He said this while looking straight at her before turning back to the crowd.

"I also want to remind everyone in this room, that respecting her, means respecting me and we should start this new company in good faith, work alongside each other, and never against each other."

"As I close, my speech, I wanted to give a few tips to everyone here today. I fell in love with Andrea because of her intellect, diligence, and dedication to work. She worked without being told and her initiatives ensured my safety. She never once thought of working to please me, never wore sexy clothes and never wore make-up to look more beautiful."

"So do your work diligently, work hard without fail, take initiatives, bring yourself up to that pedestal so you will be noticed and maybe, just maybe… you will find another handsome CEO who will fall in love with you the same."

Lu Wei, "Hmmm…"

Lu Jie, "Lu Wei, how come you never thought of that?"

Christina was shaking her head, wondering where his son got his remarkably unique approach!

The single ladies, especially, were laughing and giggling, clapping their hands partly holding on to the possibility. It certainly did inspire them to work harder for their future. After all, it was every woman's dream to marry someone like him.

Behind the crowd, Xio Hanxi and Gao Rou had mixed expressions on their faces.

It became apparent to Lu Jie that his grandson truly treasures Andrea. Although for him, she was not the best candidate. If Lu Fang would insist on marrying her, he can only hope that she has no hidden agenda whatsoever.

He looked at Wu Meiwan who was firing up with anger, almost teary-eyed. He asked her to come and sit with him to have a quick talk.

"I'm sorry my dear, but it's just like as my grandson has said, it looks like Andrea's diligence and dedication to her work captured his heart completely. Maybe, if you had focused on your work and received a promotion, Lu Fang might have noticed you already… but don't worry, there are other men out there."

The celebration was meant to last for another two hours but Lu Fang excused himself with Andrea asking to leave early. He had instructed Xio Hanxi to ride with Gao Rou on the way back to the mansion as they needed to finish the event. Since the culprit was now behind bars, there would most likely be less threatening situations. In any case, he was still with Andrea.

When the couple arrived at the parking lot, Andrea was about to get in the front passenger seat when Lu Fang went to open the back door.

"Babe, come here." He called.

"Why are we sitting at the back? I thought no one is driving us?"

Lu Fang pulled Andrea to his embraced lifting her chin up and kissed her. His kisses were gentle and light as if he was teasing. He then put one hand on her back tracing down against her bare skin and slipped through inside her dress reaching her bottom cheek.

"Lu Fang, we are in the parking lot! Someone might see us!" Andrea protested.

"Babe, I intended to leave earlier while the rest are still enjoying the party." His malicious smile implying another meaning.

"Babe, let's fulfill the Titanic scene you wanted to recreate with me."
