The President's Lover is a Fighter

Early morning, Andrea kicked Lu Fang out of the room to cook breakfast. She also did not want to be caught in the same room as the man when her adoptive father wakes up.

Alfred had a joyous breakfast celebrating Andrea's birthday together with Lu Fang. The two were already waiting for him like a married couple setting up the dining table. To him, it was one of the happiest moments in the last 3 years since his daughter left their home.

When it was finally time to send off Alfred to the airport, he asked Andy to set a reasonable day for them to marry. He surely wanted to be there and walk her down the aisle.

"Dad, don't worry. We still need to talk this through with our families, his and Wen, and Yeong. I'll let you know when that happens."

He then turned to Lu Fang and said, "Here, save your number on my phone. I want to call and check on you from time to time. We can also talk more about your family."

The man was more than happy to give him his number as he saw it as a good sign of acceptance.

Andrea, on the other hand, raised her brows at her father and asked, "Dad, why does it seem like you are more interested to talk to Lu Fang than me?"

When Alfred realized he was being a little obvious, he tried to deny it. "Don't be silly child, of course, I will also be calling you. I already have your number."

The couple decided to rest in Lu Fang's office for the night so they can be ready for work early in the morning. Lu Fang explained to Andrea that he had work piled up due to the upcoming visit of Global China's CEO in Beijing. They were working on ironing a proposal for a collaboration.

While they were on their way to Lu-Wei Enterprises, Lu Fang received an important call.

"General Lie." The man was listening intently on the other line. His face was even more serious as each second pass.

"Thank you. We'll be careful. I'll pass the phone to Andy."

Andrea was puzzled and took the phone from him, "Hello, General Lei?"

"Andy, like I told Lu Fang, Rou Yanlin escaped yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, his transfer was sabotaged and I suspect that he had help."

"Obviously." Her sarcasm manifested.

"Can you manage on your own?"

She contemplated for a while. With Hanxi not around to aid her, she would once again need General Lei's men. It was just yesterday that she had sent them back and now she will need them again. "Your men are going to hate me."

"Don't worry about it. I'll send back five men. That should be enough."

Andrea let out a heavy sigh after their conversation. She thought this problem was already over, yet Rou Yanlin managed to get out. She did not do well enough to cripple the man of his connections and source of funds. She needed to look into his file again, check all possible connections and find out who else is helping him.

The remaining ride to the office was extremely quiet that their breaths could be heard in the car. Both of them were worried about the coming days.

Realizing their atmosphere has become cold, Andrea tried to talk to the man. "Babe, we should take a vacation. How about we leave on Thursday and be back on Sunday?"

She recalled the General's suggestion about taking a vacation and thought, it would be a good time to do that. Besides, she needed one herself.

"Sure, I'll talk to dad about taking over for a while."

"I'll plan everything for us." She was happy to volunteer and started to tap on her phone making the necessary arrangements.

"Hey! Don't forget about my green sapphire engagement ring!"

Lu Fang instantly gave a grin hearing her words. He thought, 'Only this girl could dare make demands yet sound so adorable.'

When they reached the office, they both got busy with their own work. Andrea was once again checking on Rou Yanlin's possible accomplices while Lu Fang was preparing for his meeting on Wednesday.

Her search led her to believe that Rou Yanlin's assistant played a great role in handling his assets and is most likely involved in aiding the sick old criminal. Han Yun had regularly visited Yanlin in prison and on top of that, his bank account, for a simple assistant job, was rather fat.

She then made another call to General Lei and they both talked for almost an hour. They had covered setting up surveillance for the said assistant and analyzing where the former governor could still have the necessary funds when his accounts have all been frozen. They both came up with the conclusion that Rou Yanlin had a dummy account and had already preempted the need to transfer sufficient funds for his schemes.

Seeing the man's brows drew together in front of the laptop, she pulled a chair to sit beside him and said, "I want a new CEO chair. One that could accommodate two."

Lu Fang's smile was from ear to ear with the suggestion of replacing his ergonomic chair. "Babe, it's not necessary to change my chair. You can just sit on my lap."

When he saw Andrea pout her lips in disappointed, he decided to give in. "Let me call Bolin to make the arrangement -

"Babe, give him some rest! He still needs to recuperate. I can take care of looking for another chair." She said this will pulling his phone away from his hands.

"You must have been really stressed out having no assistant, but don't worry, now that I am back, you have a lover, a bodyguard, and an assistant!"

Lu Fang almost choked after hearing her words. He began to cough several times thinking about how he was going to explain things to her. "Babe, there is something I need to tell you. Promise me, you will look into the reason behind it and think this through logically."

Noticing the importance of what he was about to spiel, she turned her chair to face him waiting for the news. She asked, "What is it, babe?"

The man took a deep breath before explaining, "Dad received an offer for help from Mian's family and as a result, I hired her to be my assistant temporarily."

Andrea, "…"

She gave him a blank expression for a few seconds before blinking her eyes. Then she asked again to make sure she heard him right, "Say that again?"

"Shen Mian will be my temporary assistant until Go Bolin is back to health."
