The Queen's Cosmetician

Chapter Five: Running Intelligence 1

Dadan's plans for the day were driven mad from the outskirts by the answers brought to him by the gatekeepers of the royal castle in the early morning of the next day when he arrived in the king's capital of Perfilia.

"Can't see you?

to Mariage Mizwieri Delligeiria.

Dadan frowned and pursued.

"I would like to know why. The deed you gave me is from Her Majesty the Queen and Her Excellency the Chancellor, both of you. The more authentic you are, the sooner you can find out."

I wasn't expecting Dadan and the mariages to catch me. I have a consciousness that I can't see from my master's acquaintance in one country. I know what I did when I made it look beautiful.

That's why they're asking themselves to do a pen to make it possible to meet the mariages at the Royal Perfilia Castle.

The main entrance next to the main gate. The guard's face peeking through the small window worn there distorted to represent a hundred million hijackings.

"There's no need for inquiries. Leave!"

"It's an official letter! Just make sure!

"You are the one to change your tone. Smart as a vagrant to take action."

The soldier who spits Dadan's accusations hangs his hand on the edge of the small window.

"Oh...... hey! Then forget the letter."

And I slammed the window into the wooden frame without listening to the dialogue to everyone.

Staring at the door that would return only silence, Dadan stood flat. Often he returns from oblivion and kicks the door of the castle gate as far as he can with the frustration he has twitched.

(Damn......)

Dadan turned back the road poisoned and jumped on the carriage he was running out of. Proceeding at a slow speed, it's a two-headed carriage that connects the city to the royal castle. A simple cargo carriage without a front is provided with seats to accompany the edges. Dropping somewhere in that corner, Dadan snorted angrily.

(Well, I don't know what to do...)

I have received a work advance from Mariage. Even if you left here, your nostalgia doesn't hurt. But throwing the request on the way was a bad night's sleep, and it was a shame that the investigation at Marlen would break bones.

But now that we've lost the deed, we want to accomplish the request, but there's nothing to show our connection to the mariages. It would take too long to turn back to Marlen and ask Xeno to help. The mission may return home after completing its appointments while traveling back and forth.

Dadan was attacked by a sense of vanity and placed his back firmly on the edge of the carrier. The entire seat is in sight. Though they'll fit in on the Royal Castle's release date, they see a small number of guests today and have quite a few seats available.

"You're probably free today."

A middle-aged woman sitting across the slope muttered the same sentiment as Dadan. Sitting next to her, a man like her husband nods in agreement.

"It was just like Asimov's guy said you shouldn't be too close to the castle. I'm sore."

"I hope nothing happens. Is Allison okay..."

The couple continued the conversation with a look on their face. To deduce from that fragment that sounds leaky, it seems their daughter works at the Royal Castle as a samurai. He said he was turned down today as was Dadan of what he had taken to Royal Castle to meet her. Apparently, many things have been held back by gatekeepers from seeing acquaintances working in the castle since yesterday.

Dadan shrugged his jaw as he slammed his ears at the end of the couple's words, which smudged the swordswallowing air of the castle a lot. Twist your torso and look back at the royal castle.

Its linear construction, while remaining elegant, reminds me of a robust fortress.

Eventually the carriage entered the city and stopped in front of the cathedral. In front of the royal castle, the square is full of people. The couple followed off the carriage, with Dadan pointing his toes into the mess.

On the morning of the second day, the meeting with Serenesti took place on a crossing connecting the hotel to the main building.

Confront each other at a distance in the middle of the aisle. From the Del Ligueiria side are three people: Mariage, Rodimus and Assé. From the Perfilia side only Serenesti, Xu and Helmut appeared. The Chancellor Ditrout was absent.

"Our demands are simple."

Mariage told the Serenesties.

"Returning the carriage and horse you are keeping, and my proximity, in a scratch-free manner. And trying to make sure we get home safely. Two things."

"in exchange for the life of a prisoner."

"Yes, it's cheap, isn't it? Or is it a small sacrifice for you before you take over the country, such as the lives of dozens of your men?"

Serenesty doesn't show a reaction. Now from its righteous face, the expression is missing. Watch the dolled beauty while Mariage makes an extra grin. On the other hand, there was a cold sweat on his hands.

This deal will not be concluded unless Serenesty spares the lives of his soldiers. Mariage is more at an overwhelming disadvantage for being in the enemy's nostalgia, even though they are taking hostages.

After a long silence, Serenesti looked to Mariage.

I can't get back to you right now.

"Why?"

Mariage asked.

"Everyone will obey one of your voices, do you need help?

"You'd better not be too relaxed"

Rodimus pinches his mouth in conversation.

"There is no guarantee that the number of soldiers will remain the same as it was originally"

"Are you going to execute them? If you can do it, you can try it."

The queen of Perfilia shrugged.

"I admire your readiness to do so. That's it.... Right. We'll get back to you tomorrow morning."

And she deepens her cold smile.

"I'll see you later, okay?

Helmut walks ahead and Serenesty also turns back on his heels. The silk aya covering its head to back flickered, and the gold and silver embellishments sewn on its hem shook and began to light.

She returns in a relaxed foothold, followed by a gauntlet.

As she stared at the three returning inside the main building, Mariage asked Rodimus beside her.

"You think I'll swallow these terms?

"I don't know"

He shook his head loosely.

"Soldiers who are captive here are a rare number to lose at once. I guess that's why I put my response on hold. If it doesn't matter, you could have taken our lives in this seat."

It was possible to twist down the mariages with strength by throwing troops. Serenesty took the case back without doing so.

"Let's go back, Your Majesty."

Assé urged calmly.

"If you stay here forever, you'll be the enemy."

Mariage nodded. Turn your back on the Serenesties by entangling the hem of the costume. That's how I walked out quickly.

Prepare for battle on the way home. There are mountains to do. We can't just wait for the enemy to respond.

Brightly colored fruit. An elaborate piece of folk art. Antiques to deceive the doomed nations. Specialty products from countries that thrive.

The open-air merchants are arranging goods from exotic countries that have just arrived from the ship as soon as possible.

The hustle and bustle of the shopkeepers, the laughter of the women crossing the street, the footsteps of the children.

The bustling city of people is full of life.

Dadan resumed his steps, blinking his glaring eyes as if he had seen something blinding. Cross the square in front of the cathedral and descend the prominent street for a while. Off the detour on the way, it broke further to the left.

The king capital of any country is no different if it comes to the alley. Perfilia is no exception. Underwear hangs from ropes passed to high positions and crates and barrels are stacked unwrought. While carefully avoiding diarrhea and dog and cat filth, walking often, Dadan stopped at the bump.

There is a wooden door on the right hand side that has been assimilated to the wall. Twist that handle with rust float. When the hinge did it, it sounded deaf.

The first thing that comes into my eyes is the back of a whole person. He keeps his visitors unattended and keeps his hips down on the chair, silently continuing his work.

They're transcribing the contents of the nagging pile of paper in the booklet.

The tip of the writing fixture hooked, and he finally stopped.

"Call me before you go in."

A voice hangs on Dadan closing the door. Dadan looked back. A man was lifting his hips out of his chair like a hundred million bucks.

He's an old man with a bright green fabric wrapped around his shaved head. It wraps well burnt skin in the sun up and down the production. Half of his face was covered with blade wounds, making his rugged appearance even more intimidating.

I stroke that wound, and a man twists his neck.

"Aren't you coming back fast? You've been cruising all over the continent."

"Things have changed, Bevel."

Man - Bevel raises one eyebrow.

"That's not a busy situation. Work?"

"That's right. I need you to look into something."

"Stay up there. I'll be right there."

He waved carelessly and drove Dadan to the corner of the room.

Dadan pushed up the door cloth at the exit of the room after watching that back for a while as he began to write. Beyond it lies a dim hallway and stairs.

As instructed by the landlord, I chose the latter.

The steps of the stairs leading to the residential space are old and scream under the weight of Dadan. Dadan climbed up carefully exploring the railings in case he stepped through.

echoing, the hustle and bustle of people. That just happens to contain the touching sound of the dishes. There's a dining room on the ground floor, and beyond the wall, there's a room.

Dadan's acquaintance, Bevel Ottoman, runs a commonly shaped lodging with a first-floor portion as a dining room and liquor store. That's just superficial, though. Western Continental Branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also known as "Borderless Country". His appearance as the head of the north is the true him.

Besides running the Inn, Bevel also serves as a guide for newly arrived members of the Western Continent, good offices for work, and support for those leaving the Western Continent, as well as a compiler of rough merchants. And he was only buying and selling information to a limited number of people that would result from a wider network. Dadan was one of those few customers.

The room used for the exchange of information is behind the third floor. At first glance, it's a barn-like space. However, the door is engraved with the same color as paint to prevent eavesdropping, and the "silencing" technique is also engraved indoors where it is not visible.

Dadan put his load on the long desk and instead took the phosphorous inches and set fire to the lantern that fell from the low ceiling. Open small windows for ventilation. The dust that was drifting is sucked out all at once.

"Close the window."

Not long after enjoying the view of the capital from the heights, Bevel's voice hung from behind.

When Dadan had closed the window and finished locking it, Bevel had already taken a seat and poured tea.

"So, what do you want?

"Movements of the last few days inside and outside the Royal Perfilia Castle"

Dadan answered the straightforward question.

"The more detail, the better"

I guess there was something about the rushing Dadan tone.

Bevel slightly frowned - exploring Dadan's expression, placing it between them before starting to talk.

"The Royal Castle is now welcoming guests. It's a mission from Delligeria."

As he laid down his armpit in front of Dadan, he began yesterday.

"There are about thirty personnel, including the queen who took office about six months ago. A welcoming dinner party is being held at the hotel. The next morning, the queen and I and this majesty are out visiting the city. You should be looking around the harbor, Watergate, Cathedral. I'm going around midday for a minute and then back to the castle. In the meantime, there's nothing in my ear like there was a commotion for once. Need a more detailed roster or directions?

"No, the neighborhood is good.... and then what?

I don't know.

Bevel turned the cigar as she drew the ashtray. Open the small box that was left on the desk and pull out the phosphorus. And he slowly put fire at the end of the cigar.

"Vendors have not been allowed to climb the castle since they brought in large quantities of food on the first day. Although the castle still has a surgically carved reservoir, there is still a considerable amount of it to use. She said she had five days. Not only those guys, but all the outside humans are blocked. Likewise, people inside seem to be restricted from going out. There's no sign of what's going on in the castle in my ear."

"When was the first time we got confirmation that it did?

"Yesterday morning. Before a guest from the neighborhood arrived. When you are inviting guests, security is often reinforced. However, this time I thought it was slightly nervous..."

Bevel exhaled smoke and embarked on herself.

"How are you doing, you got something?

Dadan dropped his gaze on the jaws that remained filled with tea. Squeeze with sigh.

"... just went to the castle. I asked the Queen of Delligeria to come after me, but she poked me back. Even though he had a deed."

"Deed?"

"Queen and Chancellor of Delligeria, two autographed certificates. I was on edge and on the road to Perfilia, I was contracting a line of guides. We parted temporarily along the way... but the letter proved it. If that's not possible to get me to climb the castle, it was a petition for me to take care of it so I could see it with the queen somewhere outside the castle. The result is a gate advance. I never even inquired.... two possibilities. Did the mission forget to tell you to rendezvous later, or did the Perfilia dare ignore it knowing that?"

"And you consider yourself the latter. If so, I want to know why. And for that, he came to me."

"That's what I'm talking about"

It's quicker to rely on a bevel than to poorly explore it yourself.

Bevel spat purple smoke several times at short intervals. Roar low and beat ashtray edges with cigarettes.

He continued to operate the same way for a while, even after dropping off the excess ash.

Stop that hand, Bevel cuts it out.

"You've been sniffing around about Perfilia's prime minister during this time. I broke a lot of bones too."

Even when examining Ditrout Yerni, Dadan had asked Bevel to help him.

"Dadan, what kind of trouble do you think you're in?

"Nothing."

It's no trouble.

That's right, Dadan kept saying when he planted it on his mouth.

It's not that much trouble, it should be.

Once upon a time, with Bevel, the more involved, the more - ……….

Bevel sighs at the silent Dadan.

"Do you have money?

"Yes."

Dadan took the bag out of his nose and smashed the contents on the desk. It's part of the gold coin I was receiving as an advance from Mariage. They receive lantern lights and glow in glossy golden colour.

Bevel glanced up at Dadan for a piece of coin.

"Good money.... you were really getting a request from the Queen."

"I'm not joking with you."

"... wait a moment. I'll gather your stories."

Dadan nodded in recognition.

Bevel gathers the gold coins and packs them in a bag. I stood up and looked like I was going to leave the room behind.

Bevel looks back at Dadan, who was putting his mouth on the tea.

"What? If you had money, wouldn't you?

No, and he shook his head.

"You can stay outside while I gather my stories, but whatever you want, wait upstairs."

"Upstairs? Is that something?

Bevel doesn't answer.

"... Hey, Bevel"

He leaves the room without even asking to stop him.

Dadan decided to follow the recommendation even as he twisted his neck. Take charge of the load, hold the empty tea bowl and tea bottle, and leave the room.

Upstairs is the Bevels' quarters. Bedrooms, kitchens, and living rooms line up.

The lights are leaking out of the room for everyone to relax.

Dadan frowned as he hung his hand on the door, which he hesitated to open. There was a man. The client arrives at the table and sips tea. Nice guy with round edge glasses. Round eyes of the same color as tea shrinkage make the impression look soft. The year would be around twenty.

On its side, I recognize it somewhere.

Apparently he finally noticed Dadan's visit. I raised my face and stared at Dadan - I opened my big eyes even further.

"Maybe... Dadan?

"... you..."

Dadan finally flashed too.

"Is that Furby?

"It's Fabian!

A man cuts back instantly. He pointed his mouth and complained of Dadan's dissatisfaction.

"Please don't call me that. I'm not a child anymore."

The shadow of my childhood overlaps the muggled face.

Old memories push me closer and closer to Dadan.

Fabian smiled joyfully at Dadan, bewildered by the sudden reunion.

"I haven't seen you in seven years -...! Long time no see, Dadan"
