The Resurrecting Overlord

The ancient behemoth was seemingly made out of a murky substance, turning and changing with any movement. However, what was weird about it was that there was no sound coming from the creature. One would expect the creature to make slish-slosh noises like water splashing about, but everything seemed to have been silenced.

Dong Xian was shocked at this sight. He did not expect the entity to be so strong to be able to drag him here like this. Indeed, this only proves that the power of the cultivation technique Shadow Monolith was godly, even if it was barely godly at all.

The creature's liquid body started condensing onto on position, forming the outline of an eye. Then the eye opened, showing an indescribable void hidden within! Dong Xian nearly broke under pressure from that eye. The dark eye was staring hard onto Dong Xian, but in exchange, some of the liquid from the dark eye slowly floated towards Dong Xian, before fusing together with him.

Dong Xian did not notice this scene, as his mental willpower was running on overdrive trying to resist that behemoth's influence. The dark eyes multiplied and increased the pressure on him! Already, cracks were already breaking Dong Xian apart. More murky liquid flowed into these cracks and slowly replaced his skin. Soon, he completely shattered and was replaced by the black liquid.

The spirit of Da Ming rested inside the broken body of Dong Xian. The Heavenly Qi radiating from him was blocking the darkness from consuming him whole. Da Ming rested inside the Heavenly Qi sphere and meditated. It seemed that he had comprehended something after he had experienced the dark eyes piercing gaze. [Spend 10 Currencies to decipher character? Yes/No] Da Ming unawarely pressed the Yes button.

Da Ming opened his eyes, which was filled with a dark void instead of the usual shine that came from them. He drew a couple of signs in front of him and said nothing. Still, the signs echoed out the character "Silence!" The dark void retreated, repelled by the character. Da Ming did not allow the dark void to escape, instead trapping them with his Heavenly Qi!

He then used the power of the character "Silence!" to control the dark void to do his bidding. He carved out the body of Dong Xian, as he had long forgotten the shape of his original body. He then solidified the dark void, making himself a new body.

Demon Lord Silenced Night struggled endlessly against that pressure which was commanding part of him to do its bidding! It had only sent out a teeny little bit of its body to deal with this intruder, but the intruder had tricked him. Instead, he was being consumed by the intruder! How could this be? Only the Heavenly Qi could deal with the power of a Demon Lord! And that required a large amount of it even still!

As Da Ming inhabited his new body, Demon Lord Silenced Night imploded part of his body to leave an imprint on the intruder's body. "The intruder would be tracked and destroyed by me!" it vowed.

[User has used and spent 10 Currencies. Returning to current location...] Dong Xian was returned to his original position in the Great Demon Clan Sect Leader's room. He panted heavily as a psychological coping mechanism to deal with the experience that just happened.

"I can't believe what just happened! I absorbed the Soul Bell, got attacked by a bunch of eyes, and somehow is made out of it now! All because I absorbed the Shadow Monolith book for only Currencies!" Dong Xian ranted to himself. It seemed that there was a certain risk to absorbing manuals or techniques with an aura. He had barely survived because of the Heavenly Qi he had gained from drinking that potion.

Still, with great risk came great rewards. Even though the Heavenly Qi was gone as a result of protecting him, his body was now made out of the murky substance. There should be a certain benefit to him since it was formidable enough to break down the Heavenly Qi even the Formation Stage Zhao Feng was praising. He tried to wiggle his fingers around to test his new body.

After wiggling his fingers for a short time, the fingers morphed into tiny tentacles. "What's going on?" Dong Xian looked at his new tentacles, but he was not surprised, just curious. This effect clearly came from the change of his body structure. However, he wanted to find a way to stop this effect from happening.

[Ding! To congeal your body, please buy Unholy Silence Potion.] The system now just appeared in his mind, as the Soul Bell had been absorbed earlier. The Unholy Silence Potion has not appeared before in the system's shop. Perhaps it was there because of that incident just now?

Dong Xian went to the one time use shop. The variety of items have increased there, with some new one time items added into the mix. [Unholy Silence Potion, 5 Currency. Blood of Heaven Potion, 10 Currency. Majestic Pressure Potion, 7 Currency.] All of these new potions looked pretty good, but he really wanted was the Unholy Silence Potion to help his body adapt.

He needed to see if there were still other manuals he could absorb. Dong Xian rummaged through the bookshelves of Zhao Feng, pulling all the manuals from them. Not a moment later, an attendant rushed in. "Sect Master delivers this message-Please help us! We are under attack by various demonic sects!" yelled the attendant.
