The Retired

Alex stared at the bevy of people down below as they tirelessly work to finish off, his latest undertaking.

A set of footsteps approaches him and he turned to find Skye smirking at him. "Get that grin off your face hotshot, Skadi informed me" Skye said with a smirk of her own.

She joined Alex and lean on the railings, she took a glance at Alex and teased "Karen and Wonder Woman huh? I bet all the men in the world would kill themselves just to be in your position"

Alex scratches the back of his head and gave a wry smile "It's more of the two really, I had no choice, to begin with, and if I did happen to have one, why the heck would I not choose to cooperate"

Skye gave a hearty laugh and said "only you would be so shameless to say that"

"So how's the project going?" Alex inquires, changing the subject.

"Truthfully? I call bullshit on magic" Skye sarcastically said. "I mean a project of this magnitude should have taken a lot of years but with magic, it basically can be done in just a year. Like I say Bullshit!" She added, throwing her hands up.

Alex chuckled and replied "Magic is very versatile and Runes are basically cheat codes of the Universe, its only flaw is that it takes time to prepare before you can use them."

Skye snorted and said "Yeah and you cheated once more through the use of technology"

Alex gave a shrugged and answered "It's not my fault that humans are very innovative, I mean if Asgardian could engrave microscopic runes using precise laser printer or an automated manufacturing plant that can churn out weapon in the thousands in just a few weeks then they would have defeated the frost demons in just a year, it's just that they're mindset differs from human greatly, Asgardians who can move thrice as fast as humans would never think of creating a machine to make their work faster because they weren't fast enough" (yes they move fast but in the long run they still have to rest unlike the machine.)

"Yeah, I get your point" She replied with a sigh "By the way, it's almost complete so you have a name in mind for the two?" She asks.

Alex turned to look below and he couldn't help but smile at his almost complete project. "Valkyrie Class: Brynhildr and Eir" he muttered.

Skye's lift one of her eyebrows before shrugging. "well, Brynhildr and Eir it is" She said before looking down below.

There two massive technological marvel was lying down with almost a kilometer in size, it's structure is similar to a submarine but more streamlined and has a curve in its side with wings in the middle part and bow which serve as hangars for drones, as well as having a bow that open up for a cannon.

its classification of dreadnoughts, the Brynhildr and Eir is equipped with powerful sensors and is lined with plasma base and electromagnetic turrets for CQC, batteries of missiles, while 6 large torpedo tubes grace each of its sides to launch ordinances(20 Archer-class 100-200 megaton missile and 50 0713-type missile which are guided by the sh.i.p.s sensor). It also has a spinal-mounted Mass Accelerator Cannon (that fires an 800 ton ferric-tungsten in 2 percent the speed of light), Shield generator that uses hard light to protect the ship, a second one the protects from kinetic energy and 4 powerful Engine that works in tandem with Anti-grav tech to propel the ship into lightspeed and last but not the least a warp drive engine, overall it is powered by a reactor that houses a small star through the use of runes and magic.

Alex couldn't help but smirk once again and said "What would you think if the government of Earth found out, we are building a huge spacecrafts, in Europa?"

Skye rolled her eyes and said "Like I said Magic is Bullshit!"

Alex gazes out the open window of his office and he couldn't help but marvel at the landscape outside, covered mostly in Ice, Europa makes for a great winter vacation that is if you can breathe pure oxygen.

The SENTRI station of Europa was a long term project of his that started a few years after he got a hold of a Thanagarian ship in Egypt, the discovery leads to the creation of early SENTRI ship (prototype) as well as the creation of anti-grav tech that enabled them to create artificial gravity as well as lowering a sh.i.p.s weight to zero enabling a million ton frigate to reach a speed near lightspeed.

The prototype ship landed on Europa in the late 70's (AN: to clarify, only the 8th metal took a total of 20 years to uncover and the Nth metal was discovered much early on in the 70's) carrying with it, a Gate which would be built in the chosen site to teleport materials from Earth.

It took 2 years with the help of 10 Mk.1 Titan (Industrial Mechs), 2000 personnel and Alex himself (though discrete) before it was up and running.

Powered by Gen 1 reactor (upgraded much later on) along side a few generators that make use of the ocean below the Ice, overall it's pretty self-sufficient in terms of power though at first the same couldn't be said in terms of food but with Alex using magic (Weather manipulation and Earth magic) the SENTRI station became self-sufficient in term of food.

Currently 2 domes (impervious) has been created to house almost 4000 SENTRI employees turning the base into a mini-colony.

Alex shook his head and muttered "Well thank the Harry Potter series for giving me an idea such as a magical oath because with the amount of people the base currently has, surely one would have blab long ago."

The Magical oath in question is nothing like the HP series in which magic enforces it but instead everyone who works at SENTRI is stamp with a rune that prevents the person with a stamp from outing the location and the on-goings of the base to outsiders, while wards and holographic tech prevents telescopes and satellites from peering into the on-goings of said moon.

(AN: ward similar to muggle-repelling charm was also added to keep Superman from looking at Europa or more specifically the SENTRI base.)

After awhile, Alex decided to retreat to his bed. He said "still has a date with the girls tomorrow"
