"Did you escape from the dungeon? How is the situation inside?"

"Did you catch the assassin? How did you manage to escape?"

Once I stepped outside, I was flooded with questions.

"I have with me all the survivors. I've also managed to catch the assassin."

People's expressions darkened. It was understandable. Right now, I had come out of the dungeon alone. Not only that, I wasn't carrying anything.

I was afraid of someone asking me if I was alone. So I decided to open the inventory.

 "Drop."

I took out four people from my inventory.

Four people came out from the black space that appeared when you connected to the inventory system.

The blondie, the newbie, the bearded man, and the magician.

I couldn't take out the other person because he was in a bad state. He seemed to be close to dying.

For a hunter, the skills of storing and dropping items were normal. Every single awakened person was able to do this.

But no one had ever heard of someone that was able to store people on the inventory system. Not only that but being able to use the skill of the stored hunters was something unheard-of.

 I could see flashes everywhere.

Then, I took out the person everyone had been wondering about.

 "Drop."

It was the villain that had the nickname 'The Salaryman.' This despicable human being was responsible for the death of tens of people.

Since I had severely beaten him up, he was agonizing on the floor. After seeing the flashes, he covered his eyes with his hands.

It seems like when I put someone in my inventory, that person's conscience stops. After seeing that he was outside of the dungeon, he shrugged.

The reporters began taking pictures of 'The Salaryman,' known as the worst villain.

The rescue team, whose job I had taken away, were blankly starring at 'The Salaryman.'

'The Salaryman' tried to get up while trying to breathe. He seemed uncomfortable, so I helped him relax.

 Plaf!

I hit him in the larynx. He ended up losing consciousness again.

I'm sure no one will try to sue me for violating the human rights of a serial killer. After all, we don't know what will happen if we let this guy do as he wishes.

Soon, the attention changed from the serial killer to me. They began taking pictures of me and asking questions, all at the same time.

How the reporters saw me, an awakened person who hadn't yet officially registered as a hunter, was similar to how one used to see their first love.

 I just smiled.

It was true that I had awakened as a supporter. But thanks to awakening, I was able to solve a major incident. And I had also confirmed that I would eventually be able to awaken a second time.

 - The synchronization rate goes up depending on the amount of savings.

 - Current synchronization rate is 3.5%

That surprised me. The status window suddenly popped off. I'm still not used to it.

 But, saving?

The number of people I've saved up until now was twenty people. This means the more people I rescue, the more benefits I receive from the system.

I opened the blue-colored status window. I could read the second point that used to be damaged.

 - Phantom Step has been enabled.

It's been a long time since I haven't seen this skill.

Phantom Step is a skill that helps you select the best path during a battle.

It's like it accelerates your thinking process. It's basically a skill that helps you fight better.

With this, I've confirmed what the second window is.

The blue window was connected to the system I used while I was in the other world.

So, all my achievements and skills are currently sealed.

 I don't know the reason.

Was it because I was in another dimension?

Soon, guards came and put handcuffs on 'The Salaryman.'

"The person that's hurt, please come here. Also, Mr. Lee HyunBin, you're the one who caught the villain, right? Hey! Block the people that are over there! And please, stop taking pictures! Oh, I'm sorry."

Among the guards, the one that seemed the most experienced extended his hand for a handshake.

I accepted the handshake and smiled at him.

"Excuse me, how many healers are there around here? There's a lot of people that are in a critical state."

"Healer? We have two at the moment."

"Then let's start with those in the most critical state."

I first took out the people that had one HP left.

People came out from the inventory moaning because of pain.

The eyes of the leader of the guards widened.

"Healer! Come here! Also, please make a call to every healer that's near here!"

"There are eighteen people left. I think it would be better to put them out in an infirmary."

 "Oh, yes. Wait. Eighteen people?"

Checking out my skills is important. But right now, there's something more urgent. I can always check my abilities later on.

Because many people have seen me fight, rumors about me will probably spread fast.

And then I'll probably get some kind of nickname.

 The Strongest Supporter.

Usually, people think of Supporters as someone whose only purpose is to carry the bags and items of other people. But I had been able to catch 'The Salaryman' and save many people's lives.

This should be enough to get the attention of many guilds.

 * * *

A lot of reporters came asking for an interview.

At first, I liked getting attention from them. But the questions didn't seem to end at all.

The continuous flashes and silly questions were starting to annoy him. But the worst thing was that they didn't seem interested in the survivors.

Some people inside my inventory could die if they didn't receive help.

I needed to take them immediately to the hospital to try to extend their lives. Many will probably have to go through surgery or be taken to intensive therapy.

But these reporters were blocking my way. They only cared about my special ability, how I caught the villain, and many other superfluous things.

That's why I went to the Anyang Dungeon Center.

I checked if the blondie, the newbie, the bearded old man, and the magician were okay. And tried to see if they had any noticeable side effects.

They'd survived a horrible incident, so they were in a state of shock. But, after receiving care in a hospital, they seemed to be recovering.

"Mr. Lee Hyun Bin, you're truly amazing."

It was the person I'd met before entering the dungeon.

The person that was in charge of the TooShin Guild.

He had been waiting for me to finish the medical checkups. I was currently resting in the infirmary.

"You've saved twenty people. Not only that, on the first day you've awakened, you've managed to hunt a villain. Did you know that 'The Salaryman' is an A rank hunter?"

"I didn't know he was A rank. I just knew he's worth at least USD 300.000"

I don't know what part of what I said was funny, but that person began laughing.

He's grabbing his belly while laughing. Was that commentary really that funny?

"People are going crazy outside. After all, the one that managed to catch 'The Salaryman' is a Supporter that has just awakened. He can also store humans in his inventory, which is unheard of. Most people can only store inanimate objects."

"Really? I thought everyone could do that."

"It's extremely good. In this industry, people value highly useful skills like that."

The middle-aged man grabbed a chair that was next to the bed. After smiling, he kept talking.

"You really came back after proving you're worth more."

He offered 2.5 million USD to a supporter, which was also unheard of. But this supporter had said that he was worth more money than that.

As the person in charge of casting people for a big guild, it was his first time seeing someone like this.

 "What about 3.5 million USD?"

In just a few hours, he had increased his offer by a million dollars. This amount of money was enough to shrug even Lee HyunBin.

Earning even a hundred thousand dollars was hard enough for the average salaryman.

In order to save that amount of money, you had to live very frugally.

B rank hunters receive a signing-off bonus of a hundred thousand onwards.

But, the amount of money that A rank hunters received started from a million. The difference between B and A was a lot.

From A rank hunters, they were like the franchise players of a team.

"Just like you've probably heard, we're trying to incorporate talented hunters from other guilds whose contract has expired. We plan to become the number one guild in less than three years."

The middle-aged man took out a contract from his briefcase. After reading it once, he passes it to me, smiling.

"We're going to buy any equipment you wish. Then, except for the official raids, you aren't required to join any other one. We have more than enough supporters. So we have the luxury to give you special treatment."

I grabbed the contract and read. But on it, it didn't say 3.5 million dollars.

"I can't see 3.5 million in any part of the contract."

"Come on. You're not going to be happy with just that amount of money, right? I left it blank on purpose. When you have a rare talent, you should always ask for more. We treat our members very well."

I don't know why that sounds like a warning. We treat our members very well. But to those that aren't from our guild, we treat them as enemies.

3.5 million dollars was a lot of money.

It was an amount of money that I would have never earned while working as a trainer.

But I wasn't planning to change my decision.

"I'm not going to sign the contract."

 "..."

He really wasn't expecting that answer, huh?

The person in charge of the TooShin Guild seemed lost for words. He never thought I'd reject an offer of 3.5 million USD plus extra bonuses depending on what I achieve within the guild.

 "Can I ask why?"

"You told me never to come back before I manage to summon the Holy Sword."

The interviewer told me he wished that I find the Holy Sword to be more precise. And then dropped me off the selection process.

 The middle-aged man seemed confused.

He really didn't like guilds that only cared about you once they discovered you're strong. At first, they treat you well because they want to sign you off. But you never know how they might change in the future.

"When I was applying for the TooShin Guild, that's why the interviewing person told me."

"That's what happened. Please, let me check."

After saying that, the middle-aged man put the contract back in the envelope and placed it under my pillow.

"It seems like an employee has been rude to you. I'm really sorry for what happened. I'll make sure he learns the lesson. Please, don't let this great opportunity for both of us go away because of a mistake that an employee has made."

After saying that, he bowed his head and left the room.

I got my revenge, but still, it didn't feel good. After all, it was a huge sum of money.

I could immediately leave the room where I'm currently staying and buy a new house.

Even if Katrin eats a lot, I wouldn't have to care about how much she eats.

No, I didn't like TooShin Guild from the beginning.

People from the Hwarang Guild had treated him with respect from the beginning. Especially Mr. Jeon had always treated him well.

 He didn't need to hurry.

Rumors about him had probably been spread, so other guilds would try to contact him.

It wouldn't be late even if he took time to pick the guild that offered him the best condition.

Signing off with the first guild you've interviewed didn't sound like a reasonable thing.

'After receiving the reward for catching 'The Salaryman,' I should buy a house.'

It wasn't that he was trying to move because of a certain food-eating entity living in his house.

"This damn guy isn't talking at all."

'The Salaryman' was blindfolded, and he had both his arms and legs tied up.

By seeing how he was tied up to a special wheelchair, the serial killer's human rights weren't being respected.

But it was understandable. After all, this person was responsible for the death of seventy people.

Leaving aside that they really didn't want to respect the rights of such a horrible human being, they were afraid about what would happen to them if they gave him a little bit of space to move.

"The special guards are about to come, so please take a rest."

"I don't think badged guys will be able to make a difference. From what it seems, this guy isn't going to talk until he gets a lawyer. A death sentence is too merciful for such a scumbag. We should just keep him alive and torture him."

"He's probably going to receive a harsh sentence soon."

The two guards were talking while glaring at 'The Salaryman.'

"I'm going for a smoke. So watch out for him."

 "Yes!"

The younger guard saluted his senior and watched him walk away.

His smiling face suddenly became cold as concrete.

His eyes became cold and dry. The kind expression he had on his face was nowhere to be seen.

He turned off the switch that locked the door behind which 'The Salaryman' was confined.

 "He really got you, huh?"

'The Salaryman' didn't answer the sarcastic voice he could hear from the other side.

"Mr. JiTae, I'm disappointed by you."

 "Something unexpected happened."

"Unexpected? Oh. We also weren't expecting that. For someone to be able to ruin our plans on the first day of execution."

It felt like his voice from which you could get a sense of madness, could freeze the air around them.

It was the same person who had just been talking to his superior with a smile.

Then, 'The Salaryman' finally opened his mouth.

 "Hero."

The other person frowned after hearing that word.

 "The hero has appeared."

"If you're going to make excuses, make sure it's a credible one."

 "I'm telling the truth."

The guard pulled his bangs up. He was starting to get annoyed.

He wanted to kill him right now, but he couldn't do that. After all, they still needed 'The Salaryman.'

"It seems like you think that the guy that caught you is the hero."

 "Yes."

'The Salaryman' thought about that person that had been able to overpower him in combat.

Just thinking about him made him shrug in fear. That person was able to neutralize his skill completely, and then he just beat him up.

It was his first time seeing someone so overwhelmingly strong.

"That guy has awakened as a Supporter."

 "...!"

"Also, he has awakened a few hours ago."

'The Salaryman' couldn't believe what the other person was saying.

The guard smiled and, with a soft voice, said.

"We'll soon discover if either you were overhyped or that guy is someone truly amazing."
