The Rise Of An Empire

After Gao Liang pass down his instructions, Zhang Liang and everyone else left quickly in the night with their men for there are much to prepare.

In the following two days the people have also been informed that the Pei Kingdom would retaliate after what happened. Realizing that the Pei Kingdom will attack the Liang clan. Many families have taken up arms to aid the clan. Those that can fight have started to take out their weapons to be sharpened, their armor to be fix. While those that can't fight help on the farms, the shops, the forges, and many other places.

The entire Liang clan is in high spirit, determined to fight with the Pei Kingdom to the death. Not one person are idle in their responsibilities.

However, on the morning of the third day sounds of bells ring out in the clan.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

After hearing the bells, everyone stop what they are doing and rush to the location.

"Three bells?"

"Three bells only happens when their a life and death situation that befall on the clan."

"The fighting haven't started yet so what could it be?"

"Let hurry to the main square."

Many questions are flying around as the people made their way to the square. Once their they can see Gao Liang clad in red armor standing on the top podium.

"Its the lord!"

"He is wearing armor, could something really happened?"

Looking at all of his people who face are full of life with a mix of anxiousness Gao Liang start to speak.

"People of Liang!"

Hearing their lord speak everyone became quite.

"As you all know that our clan is under threat from the Pei Kingdom but with all of your efforts the past few days. That threat have lessen considerably."

"Without you, the people then the Liang clan wouldn't have been what we are now. So please accept my sincerest thanks."

Then in front of everyone, Gao Liang got down on his knees with his hand cup together and bow.

This greatly startled the people so much that they instantly fall down on the ground.

"The lord is personally thanking us on his knees...."

"Please get up my lord!"

"Yes! get up please!"

Even with the encouragement of the people Gao Liang remain kneeling as he continues.

"In two days the Pei Kingdom imperial army will reach Liang pass."

"The battle will be hard and our chances of survival are unknown."

"For the safety of all the non-combatants, I hereby order you to leave at once. You will be escorted out of the Liang territory and away from this war."

As if struck by lightning after hearing their lord words. Everyone while still on the ground stare at Gao Liang in a daze before tears start to form and roll down all their faces then shouts start to echo all around.

"Stop joking around my lord! I won't leave!"

"That's right! my family have live here for generations under the Liang clan who have always treat us with respect. How can I abandoned the clan now that it's in danger!"

"I may be a woman but I can still shoot a bow my lord!"

"I may be old but I can still take a few of those Pei soldiers bastard down with me my lord!"

United the people present started to scream out proudly.

"We want to fight for the clan!"

Understand their feelings Gao Liang got up and said "Please lend me your strength"

Everyone "Yes my lord!"

While the Liang clan morale have increase to a new height. Inside the lord manor Lu Liang who heard their patriotic roar begin to wake up.

"Where am I? what happened to the clan?"

Dong Liang who guarded Lu Liang door immediately rush in after hearing his lord voice with a smile.

"My lord! you are awake."

Looking at the young man in front of him Lu Liang remember someone "Dong Liang?"

"Yes my lord, it's me." Dong Liang responded as emotion of happiness started to wail up inside him.

"Dong Liang, explain to me what happened." Lu Liang asked since he can't remember anything after Dong Liang save him.

With Lu Liang request, Dong Liang started to explain everything.

After understanding the situation Lu Liang realize that he have wasted so much time recovering while the clan is working so hard to prepare for the war.

The thought motivate him in trying to get up right away so that he can also contribute in the effort. The past days Lu Liang wound has heal greatly with a little set back on specific things still remain.

But at this time a man with red armor walk in alongside a woman. Seeing Lu Liang up, they rush to his side.

Noticing it was his parents Lu Liang smiled and bow respectfully "father, mother."

Bowing half way Dong Liang said "Dong Liang greets lord and lady Xao."

Looking at the two Gao Liang said. "Thank you Dong Liang for guarding my son."

Xao Liang also said "Yes, thank you for saving my son life."

Before Dong Liang could reply Lu Liang stop him and apologise before looking at his parents in the eyes "Father-mother, I want to create my own unit and join the war."
