The Rise Of An Empire

Two more days pass by after their separation and Lu Liang two general along with their twenty thousand men have reached the second defense line which greatly shocked everyone while Gu Liang simply shakes his head and give a simple greetings before leaving to settle in the supplies that they have brought here for the army.

Yulun Rang and Xulan Liang both give a respectful greetings before being assigned to defense an area by Gao Liang. Yulun Rang immediately left with his army while Xulan Liang stay to talk with his parents Hy Liang and Vi Liang. Things was peaceful as both sides still didn't make a move as they quietly observe each other.

However, that short time of peace was shattered on the third day as the Pei Kingdom imperial army begin to form formations outside of the Liang clan attack range in great numbers. Although the second defensive line is still within the protection of both side being mountains but the space that it provide are greatly larger then compared to the Liang pass.

Zhang Liang and Tao Liang along with the Hercules unit manage to build a mud wall as tall as three grown man combine by using hardwood, stones, and mud but they also fill up the walls with sand for durability while battles was being wage in front of them to buy precious time for the defense to be completed and now that the enemy are in front of them.

The wall didn't disappoint because when the Pei Kingdom imperial army first arrives they have tried to destroy the wall using the trebuchet that they can bring along but it proven ineffective because the wall only receives superficial damage and nowhere near collapsing.

Manning the left side of the mud wall was Yulun Rang together with his ten thousand strong dragon glaive unit and Zhang Liang with half of the Hercules unit. In the center was Gao Liang and his two trusted officers Hy Liang along with his wife Vi Liang together with the thousand spear unit, Liang elite infantry, and many more. While the right side is Xulan Liang with his ten thousand strong wolf spear unit and Tao Liang with the last half of the Hercules unit. Lastly, the savage unit was put on standby to reinforce any location if needed and Tuong Liang was ordered to stay back due to his injuries.

The left wall…

"So this is an actual war huh? I have fought in many battles as a mercenary but never at this scale before." Looking at the thick mass of flesh and bones in armor at the front of him Yulun Rang actually feel a little nervous although he is leading ten thousand people.

"Don't worry, after you get stab by the enemies a few times while in the thick of battle then you will get used to it." Zhang Liang give a wide smile while replying to Yulun Rang nervousness which sent shivers down his spine because Zhang Liang smile look way to similar with the devil as he trick you into selling your soul.

But soon Yulun Rang manage to muster up some courage after he notice that Zhang Liang is hiding a satisfying laugh behind that smile of his and that Zhang Liang is simply messing with him so Yulun Rang do what any young warrior would by buffing up his c.h.e.s.t before saying "hmmp! Only if they can touch me first, don't try to scare me old man!"

"HAHAHA, so you have seen through it ehhh? Not bad at all kiddo, to bad my son is not here right now. Otherwise he would have love to mess with you as well." Giving off a haughty laugh Zhang Liang give Yulun Rang a thumbs up while at the same time sigh about the fact that his son can't be fighting next to him.

"Who is your son?" Yulun Rang subconsciously asked.

"Dong Liang." Zhang Liang answered right away without hesitation.

"WHAT!? That stone face guy is your son?" shocked because every time he try to start a conversation with Dong Liang, it always end with him getting a silent reply and a blank face so how can he be someone that actually pull pranks for fun.

Center wall….

"Hy Liang and Vi Liang, I need the both of you to go take charged of the artillery unit and the fire dragon mortar unit and awaits my orders." Staring at the enemy Gao Liang started to make calculations in his head for the best outcome while passing down orders.

"Yes lord!"

Right wall...

"General Tao Liang, can I ask you a question?" Xulan Liang asked as he look at Tao Liang.

Seeing his serious expression Tao Liang chuckle and replied "go ahead and ask what you want, if I can answer it then I will."

"Do you have a daughter?"

"HUH!?"

While the Liang clan prepared and talk amongst themselves as they focus on the enemy in front of them. The same can be said for the Pei Kingdom imperial army as they begin to march towards the mud wall slowly as artillery fire flew over all their heads thus commerce the beginning of the end to this drawn out battle.
