The Rise Of An Empire

A month flew by with Lu Liang continuously improving in his spear mastery and successfully learn the first layer of "The Flying Dragon" Kung Fu silence of the lake. Thanks to the enlightenment from self-reflecting on his life that happen unexpectedly he was able to breakthrough.

He was also able to become a lot closer with fang and beauty as well over the month. Fang got a lot bigger now and beauty also start to be comfortable with Lu Liang to a certain point. Which made Lu Liang so happy that he was all smiles from day to night.

However, there are no smiles on his face this day instead it was replace with a serious expression because today is the arrival of Pei Kingdom envoy.

In the outskirt of the Liang clan territory on a rough mountain road a long line of armor horses and soldiers could be seen stretching for miles. In the center of them a magnificent carriage is slowly moving in sync with the soldiers in order to not disturb the people inside.

Inside the carriage four people are having a fun time drinking Kulong wine which is only available for the emperor, eating delicious food, with beauties in each arm. Out of the four people inside the carriage, one was an old man with a long white beard while the other is a middle age man. As for the last two people is young men who are slightly older then Lu Liang by four years with sharp features and air of royalty that look down on the world.

The old man after gulping down the glass of wine couldn't help but speak up "This wine is exceptionally good, how your highness the crown prince managed to bring this kind of wine out of the palace? If this servant remember correctly then Kulong wine is only for the emperor and no one else is allowed to drink it."

This old man name is Ti Teng one of the two most powerful minister inside the Pei Kingdom imperial court who got his position by plotting against his rivals. Many good minister who are loyal and talented perished in his hands throughout the years. However, no one can touch him because of the crown prince that back him up in the shadows since the crown prince still need to use Ti Teng to secure his position.

The Pei Kingdom imperial court is currently split between two factions, one is the crown prince faction who born from the main wife operate in the dark is known for their cruelty toward rivals and the other is the second prince faction who born from a favorite concubine operate in the light on the outside but a dark heart on the inside. The two faction fight in the dark while maintaining an image of harmony on the surface.

As the saying goes "jackals of the same tribe travel together and they are all just as bad as each other."

"Hehe, what was hard about bring out some Kulong wine? If this prince want to then I can bring out even greater delicacy." The crown prince who heard Ti Teng remark smirked.

"Brother sure is impressive, if I may ask how you accomplish this." Second prince asked while being fed by a beauty.

Crown prince waving his finger towards the second prince "That is a secret my little brother."

'Hmmp, acting all mysterious when we know that you threaten the royal wine master to get them.' The second prince thought to himself.

Seeing that the second prince was unconvinced, the crown prince simply smirked and continue "Let not talk about little matters like this instead let talk about the mission royal father give us."

"This trip to the Liang clan royal father have made it clear that we must sabotage their defenses no matter what otherwise our forces will have no way of breaking in once they arrives. The mountain path is too narrow for our big forces to have any advantage against the Liang on their home turf."

"The Liang clan don't know that far behind us is the royal army secretly mobilizing so we have the element of surprise on our hands. If we succeed then our Pei Kingdom can further expand our territory and have one less annoying bug to worry about."

"All previous attempts to force them into action and lure them out of their hole have failed so we could only attack when they least expect it."

Everyone was listening intently at what the crown prince said nodded their heads thinking about the past visit where they ****, killed, steal, and many other sinful deeds but the Liang clan simply do nothing at all. This just make them look down on the Liang clan even more because they don't even have the courage to protect the people that live under them.

At this moment the middle age man spoke "They must be enduring and waiting for an opportunity, the Liang clan know that if they start a war with us now is nothing more of throwing an egg against a rock being destroyed completely."

That middle age man name is Vu Hoa who was once a dignified and upright person in his early days was famous for standing up to corrupted government officials who extort and frame the innocents. Due to his righteous personality, Vu Hoa made a lot of enemies and soon found himself being frame for murder. Locked up and prosecuted without any chance of redemption cause his heart to change. Filled with rage his ideals started to change. Then he met the second prince who took a liking to him once he heard what happen as he pass by the area and soon he was tainted by that very corruption as he charge his way up to power working for the second prince.

"It is expected of my brother strongest support to hit the point immediately. Minister Vu Hao you are correct, they are enduring and waiting for an opportunity. However, we cannot allow that to happen simply because the Liang clan territory is one of two way that an enemy kingdom can use to attack into our Pei Kingdom."

While complimenting Vu Hao, the crown prince explain further "Even though the Liang clan swear allegiance to us but it is still a lingering shadow that cause the imperial family to be restless."

"You are right your highness, the Liang clan must be exterminated so that our Pei Kingdom can....."

Before Ti Teng could finish what he was saying the carriage stop moving and the soldier outside reported.

Soldier: "My lords, we have arrive at the Liang clan city gates."
