The Rise Of The Ice Queen

Chapter 28 - Working Hard

I walked into the boutique with my auburn hair tied in French braid twisted bun. I wore a pastel pink petite tie waist formal wiggie midi dress with wide short sleeves and round neckline.

My red leather heels made me walked comfortably to the counter. The notification sound on my phone made me checked. Nurhan texted me to clear my schedule for the next two weeks. I tried to ask him, but he said it was something that he could not tell.

I wondered what was going on…

My pointing finger knocked on the marbled counter three times. Ulfah looked up to me as she was busy preparing for presentation. "Meeting in 20 minutes."

I did not wait for Ulfah to respond. Instead, I strode into my office on the second level with Waiza following behind me. As I sat and switched on my laptop, I heard Ulfah yelled from the first level. "Meeting in 20 minutes!"

Waiza took a thumbdrive out from her briefcase and slid it between the office telephone and my laptop. "Ma'am, the thumbdrive consists of the photoshoots from Bulan Sabit's collection."

My hands quickly grabbed the thumbdrive and input it into my laptop. My eyes were screening the pictures carefully one by one. Waiza got nervous and even swallowed her saliva hard as I hummed. "Hmm…"

I leaned myself back and crossed both my legs and arms. "Well done, Waiza. I love all the shots. Nurin was able to portray Bulan Sabit elegantly and classically as she should."

Despite complimenting Waiza, my facial expression remained the same. Cold, but polite. It took Waiza ten seconds to realise that I was really complimenting her. I knew that she was expecting something bad, given with my facial expression. Got you, Waiza! Hahaha!

"I need you to clear my schedule for two weeks. Starting from tomorrow," I sighed. "So we need to settle all the urgent matters by today."

Waiza nodded and started to tap here and there on her iPad screen. I gave her ten minutes to reorganise my schedule and adjust them accordingly. She looked up to me once she was done.

"My lady, you need to select the best five shots to be used in Magazine P. You would also need to select the design layout for your two new upcoming boutiques, loyalty cards, business meeting with the shawl fabric vendor from Suzhou, updates regarding the collaboration with Pearl's X and lastly, you need to come up with a new design for your next collection," Waiza enunciated every word accurately and speedily.

I nodded as I took the telephone to call the vendor from Suzhou first. "Hello, Mister Tan! Shasha here speaking. How are you?"

As I talked and discussed business matters with the vendor, Waiza inputted everything that I asked her to. This cycle repeats with the call with Daneen.

"You forgot all about me once you're famous!" shouted Daneen.

I pulled the phone away from my ear for a moment and looked at Waiza. "Waiza, you can go to the meeting room now. I'll tag along. Give me a minute."

Once Waiza was out from my office, I smiled. "I'm sorry, babe! Things were really chaotic here in Singapore. You have no idea."

"Well, you have to be punished then!" Daneen's voice were mixed with anger and sulkiness. "I want us to collaborate more often!"

I giggled. "Of course. To be honest, I would want to collaborate with you every anniversary of Purnama. It's a meaningful event."

"Awww… Babe, you're so sweet!" Daneen felt touched. "It's on then!"
