Because Zhang Junmai was too disappointed, he left Luoyang before the national crisis meeting was over.

Also as democrats demanding constitutionalism, the Youth Party, represented by Li Huang, stayed to block Wang Zhaoming from the beginning to the end.

On the morning of his return to Tianjin, Li Huang made a special trip to visit Zhou Hexuan and asked, "Mr. Zhou, what do you think of nationalism?"

Zhou Hexuan said with a smile: "Nationalism is a very good philosophy and political theory."

Li Huang was a little unhappy: "Is it just ideas and theories?"

"Yes, the concept of nationalism is too generalized, and it is difficult to achieve results in real governance." Zhou Hexuan nodded.

During the period of the Republic of China, there were too many doctrines. For example, Li Huang believed in nationalism and founded the "Chinese Youth Party" in Paris with Zeng Qi and others. Since its development, the Youth Party has become the third largest party in China after the National Party and the Communist Party. It not only has party branches in more than 20 provinces in China, but also has overseas branches in Germany, Belgium, France and other places.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the development momentum of the Youth Party became even more terrifying. In Hunan alone, there were more than 20,000 official party members and more than 10,000 probationary party members. Moreover, the strength of the Youth Party in Hunan Province was only ranked fifth in the country.

Why did the "Chinese Youth Party" develop so smoothly?

Quite simply, it is because of the belief in nationalism.

Nationalism and anarchism are just the opposite. They advocate that everything is for the country, and national sovereignty, national interests and national security are sacred and inviolable. For the sake of the country, personal interests can be abandoned, and for the sake of the country, any group or class can be sacrificed.

No matter what ideology you believe in or what class you belong to, you can become a "nationalist".

They also advocate that the state should control important resources and carry out social distribution in a planned way, especially emphasizing that the state should control public systems such as education and health. The state is not only responsible for developing national strength, but also for taking care of vulnerable groups, controlling and balancing all social strata and forces.

It sounds similar to "socialism" and "national socialism", but there is a big difference. "Nationalism" does not exclude capitalists, but only advocates the restriction and control of the bourgeoisie; "nationalism" is not against bureaucratic politics, but only against corruption; even if military dictatorship is beneficial to the country, extreme "nationalists" will support this regime.

Because of this, the Chinese Youth Party, which believes in "nationalism," developed into China's third largest party in just a few years. In particular, many of the military and political officials under Zhang Xueliang belonged to the Youth Party—such as the artillery commander of the Northeast Army and the director of the Beiping Education Bureau at this time.

However, the concept of "nationalism" is too broad, which will inevitably lead to loose organization, and even if it is in power, it is only the second national party.

Due to the opposition between the concepts of "nationalism" and "communism", the Youth Party and the Communist Party are natural enemies. During the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Zeng Qi, one of the founders of the Youth Party, actively supported Chang Kaishen in clarifying the party movement.

But when Chang Kaishen revealed his dictatorial face, Zeng Qi immediately became an anti-Chiang faction. Since the late 1920s, he has planned and participated in "Assassination of Chiang" activities many times. And Chang Kaishen was under pressure in the 1930s to pretend to be a democratic constitutional government, and Zeng Qi actively participated in it and became Chang Kaishen's supporter.

As one of the founders and leaders of the Youth Party, Zeng Qi's performance was too unstable, swinging from side to side repeatedly. He only had a consistent political philosophy and seriously lacked a consistent political line.

That's why Zhou Hexuan said that "nationalism" is a good theoretical concept, but it is difficult to operate, because they have no mature ideas for governing the country, let alone build their own military forces, and they are full of patriotic blood. Just the ruling party.

Li Huang originally wanted to persuade Zhou Hexuan to join the Youth Party this time, because Zhou Hexuan has always been a "nationalist", and they should belong to the same people. But now that Zhou Hexuan disapproves of "nationalism", Li Huang is immediately unhappy: "Mr. Zhou said that the concept of doctrine of the Youth Party is generalized. Which one is not generalized today, the Nationalist Party or the Communist Party? Nationalism is a lofty pursuit. Just like the Three People's Principles and Communism, it will definitely not be realized in the short term, but people with lofty ideals must take this as their goal to pursue their ideals!"

Zhou Hexuan didn't argue and said with a smile, "Let's talk about the Northeast Anti-Japanese War, shall we?"

Li Huang said: "Our youth party is raising funds, and we have already contacted the Northeast People's Salvation Association. We will organize members to fight against Japan in two or three months at most."

"Then I wish you all success!" Zhou Hexuan clasped his fists and said.

Not to mention the youth party's resolute anti-red flag, it's just a different idea, and their patriotic enthusiasm is unquestionable.

In July of this year, Li Huang was able to raise 140,000 yuan to lead young party members north to fight against Japan. Among them, Miao Kexiu, a famous anti-Japanese martyr, was a young party member. The "Chinese Youth Iron-Blooded Army" led by him was exclaimed by the Japanese Kwantung Army lieutenant general as "the army of God". The 117th Division of the Northeast Army, from the division commander to the grassroots officers, is also mostly youth, and will perform outstandingly in the future Great Wall War of Resistance.

Zhou Hexuan was very emotional about this. Perhaps only in the face of foreign invasion, the many factions and forces in China can put aside their differences and join hands to resist foreign aggression.

The War of Resistance Against Japan was really the Nirvana of the Chinese nation, and the soul was recast in the abyss of blood and fire.

Zhou Hexuan took out the check book, tore off one and handed it to Li Huang: "Mr. Li, this is a cash check from Citigroup in Tianjin. I hope your Youth Party can kill more enemies and serve the country."

Li Huang took it over and saw that the check had a denomination of 50,000 yuan. He cupped his fists and said, "Mr. Zhou, thank you for your generosity!" After speaking, he asked again, "You really don't want to join the Youth Party?"

"I don't join any political party." Zhou Hexuan quickly refused.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, all the major democratic parties in China hoped to sit together to discuss the state affairs. Only the Youth Party resolutely opposed the Red Army, and its leader, Zeng Qi, was later even designated as a war criminal by the New China, and he was still a relatively high-ranking war criminal.

Zhou Hexuan would not be involved in such troubles.

Li Huang couldn't persuade him anymore, and said disappointedly: "Mr. Zhou, please leave!"

"Farewell!" Zhou Hexuan clasped his fists.

The two each carried their luggage to the train station. One headed east, preparing to return to Tianjin to make some arrangements, and then went to Europe to appeal for international support. The other headed south, preparing to raise military expenses, organize party members, and go to the northeast to fight against Japan vigorously.

This farce of the National Crisis Conference is over.

When Zhou Hexuan returned to Tianjin, the storm of tram price increases in Tianjin was not over yet. The consuls of various countries took advantage of the opportunity of mediating the battle of Songhu to force the central government to resolve the incident, which led to the cessation of anti-foreign activities of the Tianjin party headquarters, and only the officials of the city government continued to fight. The main municipal departments of Tianjin are still in the hands of Zhang Xueliang. Chang Kaishen's orders didn't work at all.
