The Saint's Trial: Can He Resist Their Charm!?

While Hiroto is on his way home, he bumped into a girl. She has black wavy hair just like his Mom's and those black eyes like obsidian.

"Well, she's quite a handful though. I wonder why she keeps on insisting on apologizing? Well, guess I have to meet her tomorrow afternoon," he thought while scratching his head.

While he was mulling over these things, he arrived at their house. After placing his shoes on the rack, he yelled, "I'm home!" and was greeted by his mother promptly.

"Welcome home Hiro-chan!"

She is currently cooking for their dinner in the kitchen. He hurriedly ran upstairs and changed into his casual clothing consisting of a t-shirt and some easy-to-move pants. After changing, he went to the kitchen to help out with cooking, they still have enough time since his father is still at work.

"Oh that's right Mom, I almost forgot to inform you. I bumped into a girl on my way home and since she insisted on apologizing to me, we agreed to meet at the park tomorrow afternoon," Hiroto said while chopping some vegetables. His mom is quite shocked to hear this piece of news, reacting like she heard that the end of the world is near.

"I-Is that true Hiro-chan?! Oh my God! Is this some kind of miracle from the heavens above?! My Hiro-chan is finally willing to go on a date with a girl!" she bellowed, greatly surprised at her son's words. Hiroto is utterly stupefied, seeing his mother's Oscar award-winning performance.

"Y-Yes Mom it is true. W-We will be meeting on the park tomorrow. W-Why are you so surprised though?" he asked.

"Because it is the first time that you showed interest to a girl! I've never seen you go out with a girl Hiro-chan! I think the world will end tomorrow!" she shouted hysterically.

"U-Um, Mom! What does the fate of the world have to do with me going out with a girl?!" Hiroto shouted, he can't understand the connection between the world's end and him going out with a girl.

"Well, it is because you never showed interest to a girl up until now! Mommy is even starting to wonder if you are gay," she said as she looks at her son with a scared expression.

"I-I'm not gay! I'm just focusing on my studies ok?!" he said.

"But that's what gay men say when they are asked at first. Are you in denial right now Hiro-chan?! Tell Mommy and I'll set you straight right this instant! I cannot let my adorable Hiro-chan be gay! l want to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren," she said. Gee, if the Hollywood actresses see this, then they would be on the run for their money.

"Mom! I am straight ok?! A real man in body and soul! So can you please stop your weird speculations!" he said in embarrassment.

"Ok then Hiro-chan, we will talk more about this when your father arrives," she said and continued on cooking.

Hiroto breathes out an exasperated sigh, this whole shenanigans started with him telling his mom that he will go out tomorrow.

'Now I know how those Aunties at the next block can rattle on and on about trivial stuff from morning to evening,' he thought dejectedly.

After some time, his father arrived and they ate their dinner. At first, it was quiet but, his mother talked about him going out with a girl tomorrow, the result? Lo and behold! His reaction is just the same as what his mother had earlier.

"A-Are you sure son? Y-You sure you don't have cancer or something?" he asked in a worried tone.

"Isn't it supposed to be 'Are you sure you don't have a fever?'! Why did it suddenly escalate to cancer for God's sake?!" Hiroto bellowed. He's starting to think that he getting the hang of being the 'straight man'.

"*Cough* Well son, while I am your beloved father. I must admit that you are truly lacking in interest in the opposite s.e.x. It's like you--," even before his father could finish his words, his beloved mother interrupted him.

"It's like he's gay right? Ok, Hiro-chan, I don't want you to repeat all your shenanigans earlier so listen to Mommy first ok?" after calming down the agitated Hiroto, she continued, "You never spoke with girls other than Mommy, longer than 10 seconds. You just glance at them and never paid much attention. When we ask you if something interesting happened to you, all you would narrate are stories with you and other guys, guys, guys and more guys! I was worried sick! It's good to know that you are straight Hiro-chan, if not..." her words trailed off there. Hiroto felt an ominous feeling oozing out from his mother. Feeling the danger, he quickly changed the subject.

"C-Come on Mom, I-I will introduce her to you if you're still not convinced that I will be going out with a girl tomorrow," he said without thinking. His mother blanked out for a second before a smile emerged on her face.

"Ok Hiro-chan, make sure to bring her here right after you meet her at the park ok?" her tone is a lot happier this time around. Unknown to him, she was thinking,

'I'm gonna meet my future daughter-in-law. I wonder how she looks like for this picky Hiro-chan to be interested in her.'

While his father who was silently listening to their conversation just gave Hiroto a thumbs up and a grin.

After that weird family conversation, Hiroto went to his room and fell directly on his bed with a loud *thump*. He was so tired mentally, that previous conversation with his mom and dad took a toll on him. He swore that he would at least have one girl friend for them to banish the thought of him being gay. It's really hard if your parents think that you swing the other way. After a few minutes, Hiroto fell asleep.

-Morning, around 4:00 AM-

Other residents are still asleep, no sound can be heard except for the sound of footsteps. *tap*, *tap*, *tap*

The sound continues to echo. Looking at the origin of this sound, you can see a silhouette wearing a hood. After a few moments, the hooded person reached the location of a street light. Illuminated by the light of the street light, the figure can be fully seen. The person was Hiroto wearing a hoodie and jogging pants, it seems like he's doing his morning exercise.

After his morning exercise and doing some daily routine. It soon came time for him to meet up with the girl from yesterday at the park. His mom kept pestering him to dress up more nicely in order to give a good impression on the girl. So, he became a doll for his mom and her antics, changing from one outfit to another until she's satisfied. Now he is wearing leather boots, jeans, and a plain t-shirt beneath his hooded zip-up jacket.

He really doesn't know whether he should laugh or cry. His outfit right now is way over the top even for a teenage guy like him. His mom didn't give him any choice so, he has to clench his teeth and bear with it.

He traveled to the meeting place listlessly, while girls keep stealing glances at him.

When he arrived there, he saw some guys forming a circle around someone. He took a glance at the location and his eyes met with the girl who seems to be the one being surrounded. He quickly made his way over the encirclement and pushed the guys away. Arriving in front of the girl, he looked at her before taking her hands and running towards a shade of the tree.

Seeing the two run away, the guys clicked there tongue and looked at Hiroto with the look that can kill. (If it can)

After the two arrived under the shade of the tree. Hiroto looked at the girl, he didn't know what to say at the moment so he forgot that he's still holding her hand.

"U-Um, m-my hand," the girl said meekly. Her expression can't be seen because her head is lowered.

"O-Oh, Ah! I'm really sorry! I-It wasn't my intention," he said while waving his hand in a panic.

"Y-Yes, I know. A-Anyway, I forgot to introduce myself yesterday. My name is Toujou Saeko, it is nice to meet you," she said with a sweet smile. After a few seconds, Hiroto regained his composure.

"Hello, it is nice to meet you too Toujou-san. My name is Ariyoshi Hiroto, 'Ari' from 'exist' and 'Yoshi' from fortune," he said while at the girl, now named Saeko, while smiling.

After their introduction, Hiroto now had a good look at Saeko's features. Her hair is jet-black in color while her eyes are like obsidian. She's currently wearing a white one-piece dress with a light blue ribbon on her c.h.e.s.t and light blue frills on the hem of the hem of the skirt of the dress. On her head, she wore a hair clip with a flower as a design.*

"You look cute right now Toujou-san," he said unknowingly.

"T-Thank you Ariyoshi-kun. W-Well, I think we should go. We have a lot of place to visit," she said in a hurry.

After the introductions are over, Saeko made him follow towards the busy streets.

"Hey, where are we going Toujou-san?" asked Hiroto.

"Umm, I'm thinking of going to a restaurant first before we go to any other place," Saeko answered.

"Huh? I don't mind going but, didn't you say that you're just gonna treat me in a meal?" Hiroto asked.

"T-That's a secret! Girls have to keep some secrets you know! So don't ask!" Saeko suddenly shouted.

Hiroto was surprised by her sudden shout and retreated a few steps back.

"Okay, okay. Calm down ok? I won't ask about your little secret anymore so please calm down," Hiroto said to try and calm her down.

Saeko took a few deep breaths and thought,

'Why would I tell you that I just want to have a date with you?'

After that, they visited a lot of places like; the amus.e.m.e.nt park, arcade, and a flower garden. Basically, it's a date. It was already noon when they noticed the time.

Since it's already late, Hiroto decided to drop Saeko off at her house before he said goodbye to her and headed towards his home.

After he arrived, he was welcomed by a slap to the back of his head and an angry bellow, "DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO BRING THE GIRL HERE?!"
