The Saint's Trial: Can He Resist Their Charm!?

Patting the soft cheeks of the sleeping beauty, Hiroto called out her name.

"Saeko, Saeko! Wake up! Let's go get dinner!" Hiroto said loudly but with a soft and caring tone.

"Mmmh, five more minutes please!" Saeko acted spoiled and asked for a few more minutes of sleep.

"Ok then, I'll go eat dinner myself then. Maybe there would be an obedient girl that would want to be my new companion," Hiroto teased.

Hearing his words, Saeko bolted out of the bed and shouted,

"No! You can't leave me! You can't! You can't! You can't!" Saeko said while waving her arms up and down, then proceeded to hit Hiroto in his c.h.e.s.t.

"I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! Teasing me like this! Take that! And that!" Saeko said while pouting cutely.

Hiroto was struck by this cute creature in front of him.

'Maybe this is a side effect of liking someone? Everything she does looks cute in my eyes. Maybe I'll turn dumb if this continues!' Hiroto thought. This is also true, considering the fact that some people's IQ lowers when in-love.

'I can't let this cute creature be stolen by some other man! It breaks my heart to think of something like that! Is this love? I don't know what love is but I want to take care of her and protect her,' Hiroto thought. What he didn't know was that this feeling started to sprout when they were in the previous world. They both would often go on outings, which would look like a date in other people's eyes. They totally looked like lovers when they go on outings but no one pointed it out. It is because Saeko was already smitten by him and was enjoying the moment, while he was oblivious to the matters between the opposite s.e.x.

The feelings he has towards Saeko aren't that strong love yet but he knew that it would get there eventually.

‹Why do you know this thing about the opposite s.e.x then? Aren't you supposed to have a dense mind that is denser than osmium?› asked Ariel in a teasing tone.

'That, well I was. Until when I was on the world where Dragons and Devils exist. I was in the care of a Dragon that taught me that I should learn to recognize the feelings of people on my surroundings. It was to determine if someone had murderous intent towards me he said,' Hiroto said while reminiscing about the days he had with Tannin as a baby.

‹Hee, then I guess I should give my praise to that dragon for teaching you not to be dense anymore!› Ariel said jokingly.

'Hey, that's harsh! I was never... Anyway let's talk again tomorrow' he was about to deny that he wasn't dense in the past but remembered that he has no way to refute her words. Deciding to focus on the girl in front of him, he told her to keep quiet for now.

"How's your sleep you sleepy head?" Hiroto asked while hugging the now docile Saeko. Saeko seems to remember that she was angry right now and proceeded to hit him again with light punches. Looking at this girl that he has been with for almost 2 years now, he couldn't help but smile. Remembering the day where she wanted to apologize to him by taking him to a date.

Seeing the person she is hitting smile like an idiot, Saeko got madder and she put some force in her cute punches. Hiroto felt this and he proceeded to catch her hands. Because of the huge Agility(AGI) and Intelligence(INT) attribute that he has, he can see her descending fists like it was on slow motion.

Saeko was shocked and looked at Hiroto in front of her with spite. It's like she's saying, 'Why did you stop me you idiot!' with puppy dog eyes.

Seeing this scene, Ariel almost couldn't hold herself from sending a notification to Hiroto that says, 'You have received 1,000,000 damage', 'You got inflicted with Charmed state'.

Hiroto couldn't hold back anymore and he put his lips on top of hers, sealing her mouth. Saeko didn't protest and even wrapped her hands around his neck, as if she doesn't want him to end the kiss.

Their kiss lasted for a few seconds before they separated from each other. Looking at the eyes of Saeko, Hiroto finally got the courage to ask her what he wanted to ask her ever since he kissed her. Cupping her face with both hands, he looked at her eyes directly before saying,

"Saeko, will you be my girlfriend? I only realized this when we were given another chance by the Gods to meet again. I, I can't imagine living a life without you Saeko."

Saeko was shocked by his confession but soon recovered and looked directly at his eyes.

"Are you saying this out of guilt or is it because you truly want me by your side, even if you transfer to a different world?" Saeko said. This shocked Hiroto. How did she know this?

"How did you know about this Saeko? I was planning to tell you about this sooner but it seems that you somehow knew about it now," Hiroto said while smiling bitterly. He never expected this to happen.

"Well, I knew about this ever since you asked me about becoming your companion," Saeko said, indenting to tell the story behind it.

After agreeing to be Hiroto's companion in his travels in the future, Saeko heard a voice of a woman which startled her.

«You are the first one to receive my son's blessing. Hello there my future daughter-in-law~» said the mysterious voice.

'U-Um, who are you?' asked Saeko hesitantly.

«Ah, silly me. I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Gabriel Ariyoshi, Hiro-chan's mother~» said the voice that sounds so soothing to the ear.

'H-Hiro's mother! T-That, how can you talk to me like this ma'am? I-Isn't Hiro's mother on Earth?' asked Saeko. She is quite nervous to talk with her beloved's mother all of a sudden.

«Ohhh! You're talking about Honoka-chan? Well she's my little sister so I asked her to take care of my son along with my cousin Saito,» said Hiroto's mother.

'I-Is that so? H-How can you talk to me like this though ma'am?' asked Saeko again. She is mystified by this mysterious phenomenon.

«Oh, that? It's just a small telepathic skill of mine! Anyway daughter-in-law, just call me mother ok?» said Hiroto's mother, now named Gabriel, jokingly.

'Y-Y-Yes m-mother!' answered Saeko in a panic.

«Oh hehehe, it feels good to hear you calling me mother! Anyway, my daughter-in-law, I am here to tell you that you now have received Hiro-chan's blessings! You are only his companion for now but it will change when your relationship advances!» said Gabriel, excited.

«Come on, try thinking of seeing your Status Window!» said Gabriel.

'O-Okay mother,' said Saeko and then started to think of 'Status Window' repeatedly.

Then, a transparent board appeared in front of her.

«That's your 'Status Window' dear. And the informations in it is your attributes and abilities. On your titles, you can that you have the title 'Cute Angel's Companion'. The 'Companion' part will change after your relationship gets into the next level. But, if ever you leave cheat on him or break his heart, you will receive a punishment much worse than death,» Gabriel was enthusiastic at the beginning but her tone changed into a cold one when she said the latter part of her words. She can be called an overprotective mother but that is only normal for a mother. She wants only the best for her child.

'I will never leave Hiro's side mother! He is my beloved and he saved me for getting depressed and committing suicide! He showed me the light when I was down, so there's no way I'm gonna leave my savior and my love!' Saeko said those overly cheesy words without feeling ashamed. Probably because she got shocked by Gabriel's words and wanted to tell her her sincere feelings towards Hiroto.

«That's great to hear dear. I have been watching you ever since you met Hiro-chan. He probably likes to be with you because you resemble me a little~» Gabriel said playfully.

«Anyway Saeko dear, please take care of my son ok? I got somewhat disappointed by the first and second daughter-in-law candidate but they are properly repenting right now so, be kind to them in the future ok? You have to know that Hiro-chan has childhood sweethearts in another world and I'm sure that he will certainly go back there to meet them,» said Gabriel to Saeko. She wanted to make it clear to her that Hiroto have more than one girl that he likes.

'Umm, I don't really mind sharing Hiro with other girls, you know? I really like him and I can't think of a future that doesn't have him in it. If they love Hiro and cares for him too, then I will treat them as my sisters! I want a big and happy family!' said Saeko. Being with her parents made her think that a happy family is needed to keep being happy in life.

«That's good to hear dear. I really like you! I hope we can meet in person in the future! See you, dear!» Gabriel said.

"I am sorry for hiding it from you Saeko. And please don't think that my confession is just out of guilt. Check your Status right now and see if there is something that changed," Hiroto said while smiling brightly.

"What do you mean?" asked Saeko, confused.

"Come on, just check it!" Hiroto said, still cupping her face with his hands.

'But, I really don't get why she isn't against the thought of me having other girls. Does she want a family that much?' Hiroto thought. He vowed to take care of his girlfriend, and make her feel the love she never felt from her real parents.
