Just last week Ruby came to work at a 'coffee shop' which is also the workplace of her best friend – Juan.

One week ago Juan immediately took her there to work, without meeting the owner of the shop in person. Either the shop owner has agreed or not with her presence as a new employee there. "Honey, is Juan coming to pick you up today?" Emmy who was in the kitchen asked Ruby quietly when she saw her enter the kitchen.

Emmy knows that Ruby's friend, Juan, will come to pick up Ruby on Saturdays and Sundays to go to work together. Even when she came home from work, Juan would take Ruby home. It made Emmy feel calm because someone was looking after Ruby. Now Emmy no longer has to worry about her only daughter when she is at work.

Ruby who had just entered the kitchen heard her mother's question, she immediately sat down at the dining table. She saw Emmy put several plates of food on the table Ruby looked at Emmy with a look full of happiness. Either happy to see a beautiful woman in front of her or happy because of other things. It was clear that she was very happy now.

"No! Today Juan went with his family out of town. So he won't come to work!" Ruby answered calmly while tasting the food that Emmy gave her.

"Tomorrow, he will come back to work," Ruby added.

Ruby was sure, Juan would not come today. Because last night, Juan had told her via text message that he wasn't going to work today.

"Oh, all right! I will take you to the bus stop." If no one picks up Ruby, then she will take Ruby, even if only to the bus stop.

In this house apart from a two-wheeled vehicle, they do not have another vehicle. Because the car they have has been taken away by Robie.

Fortunately, this house belongs to Emmy herself, which she bought when she was young and still working in the entertainment world as an artist. If not, maybe at this time Emmy and Ruby will be living abandoned without a house to shelter.

"Hurry up honey! Finish the food. Mama will take you now." Emmy returned to the kitchen, asking Ruby to finish her food immediately, because it was already noon, afraid the bus had already left.

Ruby looked at Emmy with emotion. Emmy is now well dressed and wearing a thick jacket while holding two helmets in both hands.

Ruby knew in Emmy's heart she was devastated. Her heart was very hurt because of Robie's bad treatment and her habit of always getting married and changing women to leaving home, abandoning his wife and children.

This isn't the first time it's happened. Since childhood, Ruby has often witnessed great fights between Robie and Emmy. His fights are always about other women.

Don't know how many times something like this has happened in this house until Ruby has a pretty severe trauma about a man. There is a certain fear when it comes to a relationship with a man. Even her heart became hard and always closed herself to men.

So Ruby decided not to have a special relationship with anyone, to avoid the trauma itself.

Ruby suddenly woke up from her thoughts when Emmy approached and patted her on the shoulder, "Hurry up! It's getting late. You'll lose the bus again!"

"Eh, yeah... Mom!" Ruby was surprised by the presence of Emmy who was suddenly beside her.

Ruby immediately looked down. She hid her reddened eyes and there was a bit of wetness in the corner of her eyes. She returned to holding the spoon and began to eat the food that had been prepared by Emmy earlier.

During the meal, Ruby kept her head down without lifting her head. She ignored Emmy who was still standing next to her while still watching her. She didn't want Emmy to know how sad she was right now.

Ruby didn't waste any more time, she quickly finished her breakfast.

Seeing Ruby eat fast, Emmy patted her back gently,

"Slow down, honey! You'll choke."

Cough! Cough! Cough!

Sure enough, Ruby suddenly coughed.

Hearing Emmy's words, instead of Ruby being able to eat quietly, she choked until her throat hurt.

Emmy saw Ruby who kept coughing until she lowered her head and almost touched the mat on the table.

Emmy immediately took the glass and gave it to Ruby, "Drink!"

Ruby immediately drank it. The water flowing into her mouth made her throat feel comfortable. After feeling comfortable, she returned to continue eating without saying anything.

After finishing eating Ruby straightened her clothes, took her bag, and immediately put on her shoes. She followed Emmy who walked first towards the exit.

When they got outside, Ruby saw that Emmy had started her motorbike.

"Come up!" Emmy said while handing one helmet to Ruby.

Seeing her mother going to ride a motorcycle to take her to the bus stop, Ruby felt uncomfortable.

She immediately took the helmet from Emmy's hand and put it on.

"Please stay at home. Let me take the motorbike to work."

Instead of Emmy riding a motorbike to the bus stop, Ruby should bring her motorbike to work. That's better, right?

Even though it was Ruby's first time going to work riding a motorcycle, but she would give it a try. Just go to the coffee shop which is in the city center, it's very easy. Nothing will happen to her.

Fortunately, this is an automatic motorcycle, Ruby is an expert in driving it.

"But honey, I won't rest easy if you bring your motorbike to work.

Usually, you go with Juan." Emmy was silent for a moment, she looked at Ruby worriedly.

"If tonight when you get home, there's a bad guy on the street, what? Mama doesn't want to take that risk."

Emmy was really worried about her daughter. She didn't want anything to happen to Ruby.

It was better for her to take Ruby to the bus stop now.

"No! That won't happen. Trust me!" Ruby convinced Emmy.

Ruby knew Emmy was too worried about her. But now that she was an adult, she no longer needed to be treated like a child. She can take care of herself, she doesn't have to always be taken care of by Emmy.
