The Seeker Of The Flames

Chapter 19 - Boring... Boring...

"Finally, she went upstairs to rest. I was getting bored of putting the same boring smile all the time. Now I can also take a rest. Spending time with that troublesome woman has made me so tired. And to think of it, I've not come to get any clues about the flames. It's been a waste of time now that I think about it. Did I make the wrong decision when I decided to continue things like this? Would just ordering the Infernal Ten to search for the flames be more efficient? They would search the whole world immediately. But wait... I still don't know. It's too dangerous. They may destroy some clues in the way. It'd be so reckless. But should I take that risk? Damn! Just what the hell are those flames? Only if I knew more about them... Wait Adin! wait... I shouldn't let my feelings affect me. I have to be patient after all; that would be the only right way to reach those flames. Yes, I can't take any rest now, have to use my chance to search the world properly, and the only way for that is... Adventuring!"

Adin banged the quest paper along with the required materials on the assistant's table. He then looked at the red-haired girl in front of him. She had a very gentle smile on her caring expression

"Done! Would you please confirm it and give me the rewards?" Adin asked.

"Yes! Yes! Please lemme check the materials."

She started checking the materials, verifying whether they are complete or not. When her confirmation was done, she smiled and nodded in agreement. She stamped the quest paper with the official confirmation mark of the guild.

"Everything's done perfectly. Good job Mr. Arian. Shall I give you another quest? If you're not tired yet, that's it."

"Yes Please... I'd like to."

"All right then, here's a fit quest for you, Mr. Arian."

She brought up a new quest for Adin to do. He immediately grabbed the quest paper and prepared himself for his next mission.

"Thank you! I'll do my best."

"Please have a safe adventure, Mr. Arian!"

Leaving the guild's building, Adin continued walking ahead while looking at the paper, checking the information:

"For real, what's the point? I still don't understand what's going on in those stupid human minds. How can this repetitive thing be interesting? No way it can be interesting! Yet there are so many of these so-called adventurers, putting pleasant smiles on their faces and continuing their pointless adventures."

Adin sighed, appearing bored and lifeless. His eyes looked so empty and dull.

Although he had started this adventure with an interesting goal in mind, it was still so boring that he couldn't stop complaining. Adin could never get used to this repetitious situation, no matter how much he tried to. He knew that calling for Infernal Ten to start the search for the flames would be far too reckless, as he had no information. The flames were the vision of the Oracle; they could be symbol of anything. As someone who had lived for a long time, he understood that getting impatient would just push him far from his destination. Thus using force and destructive powers wasn't the right choice.

And yet Adin's feelings overwhelmed his strong logic. Those feelings weren't enough to change the way he had chosen to reach the flames but still strong enough to make him complain all the time as he used to call everything boring.

He began walking toward a stable to hire a horse; Adin would look anything but normal if he continued to walk the way by his feet to a distant place like Thunder Plateau. It would attract people's attention and finally, they would become suspicious. There was no choice but to act like every other adventurer.

While grumbling about how much boring things are, the picture of Liora appeared in his thoughts.

"That woman... she's so boring, and her intention is too tedious. I can remember so many warriors who had wanted to kill me. Now they should all be in jail at the torture chamber or have already been killed. As I recall, hearing the humans want to kill the Demon King was the 7th most boring thing on my list, I guess... But still, I think those numbers have decreased. Not so many people want to kill me now, as they have understood it's useless. So maybe that was why she got excited when I also told her I want to kill myself?" Adin sighed, closing and opening his eyes. "Well, that wouldn't make much of a difference, still boring. Ahh... damn it. I'm becoming too stupid. Stupid thoughts, boring thoughts, STOP occurring to me!! Boring! Boring!"

After a little while walking on his feet, he reached a stable at the northern strict of Seora and then rented the cheapest type of horse by spending 10 bronze coins. Adin got ready to leave the city, going through the north gate.

The horse neighed, whinnied, and stamped his legs on the ground as Adin mounted it, sitting on its adjusted saddle. He reined it to leave the city from the gate, moving toward the Thunder Plateau.
