The Seeker Of The Flames

Chapter 30 - Someone Who Wants to Honeymoon With That "Someone Who Wanted to Die"

The leather soles squelched across the wet grass, a sudden quick swoosh following it. A human silhouette moved through the trees in fast paces.

His rapid movements began slowing down as a pig-like beast entered his vision. He stopped moving further, turning to the beast. The creature looked similar to a wild boar, but it had unusual long tusks emerging from its jaws, possessing huge curved ears on its head. Its shape also appeared larger than an average wild boar.

"Finally! I was getting bored. Here you are, my final prey!"

The boar charged at the human figure, grunting aloud while rushing toward him. While getting closer, a humming sound started to be heard as various ring-shaped flows of electrical current appeared around the wild boar's large fangs.

"Here! Here! Come to daddy! Bring me those two ears!"

The man took the boar's tusks, receiving all of the electrical energy waves. The loud buzzing noises overrunning the atmosphere, he left the boar's fangs and reached out to take its ears, grabbing them tightly.

"Here my friend, now sleep for eternity!"

He raised his arms quickly, pulling up the boar's ears by force and taking them off. The beast began bleeding, falling on the grass after huffing in a groaning voice.

"And it's two more lightning boar ears, finally..." he sighed, exulting while putting on a satisfied smile, "finally this boring quest is over. But wait a second..."

His smile vanished immediately as he realized his conditions, changing to a lifeless expression.

"I'm still alive... so it's nothing but boring... Ahhh... finishing one or two quests would still be boring. There's no need to be happy. And I've just come up with anothe—"

A soft audible voice started calling him, interrupting Adin in his thoughts. A woman in a white wedding dress was stepping to where had stood. She kept stumbling while running through the trees in high heels.

"Aaaaaaaaaadian! My darling husband!

That loud shout gave Adin goosebumps. "F.u.c.k! She's already here!"

The woman reached Adin, breathing in short, heavy breaths.

"Why do you move so fast!?" she w.h.i.n.ed, puffing out her cheeks, "I can't keep up with you like this!"

"Oh, sorry White Flame! I wanted to get going with this quest as fast as I could, so that's why I had to hurry."

"Stop calling me White Flame already! I'm Wendy! W-E-N-D-Y!"

"Ah, Right! Sorry, Wendy!"

Putting the wild boar's ears in his magical pouch, Adin inhaled and exhaled, transferring his disinterested breaths from his lungs to the air.

"All right, we should return now. I need to get this quest confirmed." Adin looked at Wendy. "Did you bring the horse, Whi—Wendy?"

"Horse?" Wendy responded, "What horse?"

"Huh? The one I gave you after bringing you in greenspace."

"Oh! You mean that?" Wendy looked ashamed, pursing her lips while trying to not look straight at Adin, "Well... I forgot to bring it with myself."

"Heh? What?"

"I...I said I forgot."

Wendy blushed slightly in embarrassment. She still avoided looking at Adin straightly, directing her face away.

"You forgot?" Adin asked, facepalming in frustration.

"Well, it's your fault since you were running so fast. I just totally forget I have to handle the horse. I just wanted to get to you, so I left it. It must be somewhere in the forest."

Adin facepalmed even harder this time. "You could mount the horse and get to me faster."

Wendy finally glanced at Adin straight, smiling and putting on a cheerful face. She started clapping.

"Ohh... You're right! I've got such a smart husband! I'm so proud of you!"

However, Wendy's smile faded after noticing Adin glaring at her. She once again began apologizing.

"S-sorry! I told you I'm sorry! I didn't think about it when I decided to follow you and leave the horse in the forest..."

Adin sighed, rolling his eyes. "Troublesome, too troublesome... Now, how're we supposed to get to Seora?"

"Seora, where's that?"

"It's where we're going."

"I see, I hope it's a good place for our honeymoon. I trust you since you're my husband!"

"Honeymoon? Huh? Don't get me wrong! We're not going there for anything like that!"

"I see," she smiled, closing her eyes, "so you want it to be a surprise? Such an adorable husband!"

—E-eeh? What's she talking about? All right let's change this retarded convo. I shouldn't waste my time more than this.

"By the way," Adin coughed, realizing there's no point in continuing that useless talk, "we need to find something to ride on. It should fit my level and not attract so much attention."

"But why are you staring at me?" Wendy asked, looking uncomfortable due to Adin's steady stares.

"Maybe because it's your fault that we have lost the horse?"

"But I thought I apologized!"

"Well, an apology wouldn't solve the problem. I need an actual solution."

"Do you expect me to do something? But there's nothing I can do!" Wendy complained.

"Tsk... useless..." Adin mumbled.

"I heard that!" Wendy exclaimed, her face flushing and a choking sob coming up her throat, "You're really a bad husband..."

She started crying immediately, weeping tears and m.o.a.ning with a loud, high-pitched voice.

—W-what? Seriously? Why's she crying? Damn, what have I done to deserve this...

Adin was confused. He didn't know how to respond to her cries. "Hey! Hey! Just stop! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have put so much pressure on you, so please just please, stop crying! It's too annoying so please stop!"

Wendy didn't stop sobbing. Her loud cries made Adin so uneasy. "I told I'm sorry, so just stop crying now! I accept it was my fault. I shouldn't have run so fast. You were right!"

She kept whining noisily even after hearing Adin's words.

—Damn! Why doesn't she get quiet? All right, it seems I have no choice... it's gonna be nothing but trouble, but it seems I have no choice.

"All right," Adin paused, taking a breath, "Let's have a honeymoon in future."

The moment he uttered the word "honeymoon", Wendy's annoying cries ceased to be heard as she got startled. She instantly moved to Adin's arms and hugged him, her arms encompassing Adin's waist. She kept rubbing her head against his c.h.e.s.t, exulting in delight.

"Yayy! So when are we going on our honeymoon? I can't wait for it!"

—H-heh? Damn! It was all acting! This woman...

"There's something I'm trying to find. We can go after I find it."

"I see, but there's something I want to ask, Adin..."

"Hmm? What's that?"

"After getting back from the fight against that guy..." she hesitated.

"Why've you been n.a.k.e.d this whole time?"
