The Shovel System

Jakie Gazes at his translucent system panel where the loading circle spins on the attributes page. A little loading bar very slowly progresses beneath the loading circle. The old man looks away and returns his gaze to Silent Wolf.

The Spade Dao tome loses stability. The tome's golden particles flow like sand and pour through the young man's entranced fingers. The golden sand pools on the ground for a few moments. A strong wind kicks up the sand and it blasts whirling into the air in the form of a golden dragon, every scale a golden spade head. The dragon roars without sound and then whirls around Silent wolf. It dives into his glabella

Quiet Bear gasps and stands up. Jackie raises an eyebrow.

Silent Wolf groans and bowls over, clutching his c.h.e.s.t. Countless golden lines swarm across his body, looking like thick golden worms, or innumerable little gold dragons squirming beneath his skin, forming a dense network of mysterious occult symbols. They work quickly to reforge the young man's flesh, bones, blood, viscera. He howls in pain while his wife holds her breath in fear, covering her lips.

Silent Wolf's eyes bulge and turn bloodshot in an instant. The pounding veins bulge thicker and blacker by the moment, making his eyes look more demonic and bedeviled by the moment before several veins burst. Thick, slimy black blood oozes from his eyes, his nose, his ears, and countless pores across his body. He curls up like a shrimp, all of his muscles vibrating and tense.

Quiet Bear face turns ashen. She twists with a begging look at Jackie, shouting, "Please! Please help him!"

Jackie places his palm on the ground to get ready to stand up and then pauses. He sees a couple of finger-thick little dragons sneaking off of Silent wolf. The first one eyes Quiet Bear, while the second one lunges at baby Solemn Wolf.

Quiet Bear senses something and spins, coming face to face with the little golden spade dragon. It looks at her, then plunges into her glabella. Terror twists her face as she also spots the end tail of another dragon vanishing into baby Solemn Wolf.

She shakes, utterly spooked, thinking that Silent Wolf's fate was hers and her son's too. She was always scared of pain.

Silent Wolf gradually calms down, the bulging veins vanishing, leaving a few faint golden lines resembling spade-shaped dragon scales across his c.h.e.s.t, and leaving him completely covered in stinking black slime.

At this time, Quiet Bear only felt slight discomfort and a little itchiness, until her bowls suddenly rumbled and she groans with a low urggg. She clutches her tummy and rushes outside.

Baby Solemn Wolf giggles inside his bedding and then burps. That burp stank so much it could knock a grown man dead. Jackie pinches his nose and coughs a few times.

The young man clutches his belly and curls over as he rushes out of the door in a flash.

The translucent panel in Jackie's mind fills the rest of the bar in an instant, then the entire panel expands with information.

Jackie tugs his beard and squints at Abyssal Super Human, wondering what that is. A moment passes and an information pane appears.

User is a Western-styled Power User, or Abyssal Super Human, under which many sub categories exist. An eastern styled cultivator is a Celestial Super Human, under which there are also many subcategories, such as demonic, etc.

Here is a simplified version for User:

Abyssal Superhumans wield the might of power. User can consider Superman, The Flash, and many comic characters to fall into this category. Western magic users, like Merlin, also fall here.

Celestial Superhumans wield the comprehension of power. User can consider most Xanxia and Wuxia protagonists as falling here. The current realm that the User is traveling in is a Celestial realm, the superhumans here all practice Celestial techniques.

User, be aware that these are simplified, in doing so, the profound depths of both power systems is hidden and may cause confusion. ]

Jackie hasn't heard of Xanxia or wuxia. He has seen the powers of the realm and he even has the cultivation techniques, enlightening him on the differences between himself and the superhumans here. He doesn't need to cultivate, all he has to do is dig and he gets stronger. He doesn't need to comprehend the profoundness of the shovel dao or the earth, but to merely move his arms, and he can wield the might of the shovel.

He looks away from the system and then worries about his students, standing up.
