The Son Of Broken Things

It has already been four days since Leo came to this new world and he had spent the days recuperating from the assassination attempt on the life of his body's previous owner. It would seem like the previous owner of his body shared the same name as him but not the same intelligence and passion for the sweet crime life. The previous Leo had decided not to inherit the family head position after his parents had passed and this gave room to those individuals in the family with ambitions of their own to begin an internal conflict amongst the family members, and in the process they were able to split up most of the family's assets and territory amongst themselves, then leave the family to start their own gangs and enterprises.

Leo was currently seated in his father's study deep in thought about his future plans and development paths. He had also spent the past few days analyzing most of the information he could get from the memories of the previous owner from which he came to realize that he had shockingly been reincarnated in another world just like those novels the former Don used to read when they were still kids, just, this wasn't a fantasy world with swords and magic, no, It was actually pretty similar to the earth he was from with a few minor differences like; the fact that the earth he was from had seven continents while this one had only three, and also the fact that the political structure of this world was vastly different. He was currently in the city state of Allabo, in the United Federation, located on the smallest of the three continents.

The United Federation possessed the largest territory and the strongest military on the continent giving it the ability to solely dominate all other powers on the continent. It was during the end of the first world war when the United States made a huge breakthrough in the military research and developed, new powerful weapons which allowed for the easy invading and suppression of all other countries on the continent, unifying them under one government; The F.C.A.C, the Federal Council of American Countries. With the United States as the head and leader of the Federal council. They had the power of a highly advanced and elite military giving them complete control over the other countries with no successful case of rebellion.

Except for this little difference the two earths were quiet similar. It was the people that were different. The humans from this earth were more evolved than those from the other earth due to the awakening and manifestation of superpowers. The humans here could manifest various superpowers from when they are born and some who could awaken these powers were able to rise up amongst the ranks of the commoners to a position even governments would try to get friendly with you. The previous Leo could not awaken any powers and this was also a reason why the betrayers were able to split the family and even try to kill him, so as to end the family completely but surprisingly, Leo had managed to survive and awaken an ability after his reincarnation.

He tested out his ability and discovered it was high speed regeneration. He could instantly heal any injuries as long as they were not fatal. This was an ability which seemed quiet op and had possibly manifested due to his body's death and resurrection, but it was exactly what he needed to give him a chance to carve out a piece of this world for himself and also help the family rise again, achieving heights he could not reach in his previously life from his youth till death.

Knock knock

"Come in". There was a knock on the door which brought him out of his thoughts and back to reality. When the person behind the door came in, it was a middle aged man in his 40's. He had that common Italian face but this one would make you associate him as one who couldn't bear to hurt fly. He had deep blue eyes and did not seem to have any aura about his presence. He knew how to hide it well but not enough to deceive Leo. How couldn't Leo be able to sense it, he had years of experience in picking out experts in the art if killing due to the rackets he used to run for the Fazio family and could clearly see it in his wolf like eyes which looked down on all things as its prey, the aura of a true predator.

"Leo I brought the books on our current finances, assets and territory, still belonging to the family you asked for"

"Thanks uncle Benedetto, just set them on the table and we could get started immediately. I apologize for troubling you so much"

It made me feel like you were finally ready to take over the family head position since nothing would make me any more happy, than seeing that ring on your finger. Am still too inexperienced and not really sure If I could keep the family from being destroyed, more or less make it rise up again. But I promise you here and now to live up to the position of family head and at least try to make a great comeback for the family ".

"Good..good,in that case let's get started ", and as anyone could see, the new visitor was none other than Benedetto Fanucci, the second in command and brother to the late family head of the Fanucci crime family. He was also one of Leo's last remaining relatives and the man who tried his best to protect the family and its heir only to almost have the heir due to scheming from a bunch of traitors.

And as the books were set and discussions began, the two; uncle and nephew, made their plans and preparations for the possible rise and comeback of the Fanucci crime family and a good future.
