The Soul Of Lucifer

Chapter 25 - What is this element?!

*Cling*

"Welcome!", a tender female voice greeted Sun as he walked into the Elementalist Shop.

"Are you searching for something certain?", the girl asked him while observing Sun.

"Hm, this guy is a student, tsk, he may not have much money.", she thought insidely but approached Sun in a friendly manner.

"Yes, I want to test my Element affinity, if possible, here."

"Oh, of course, but we're charging this service.", she said while rubbing her hands together like a salesman.

"Oh, no problem.", Sun answered. The Esperia Magic School also provides the best financial support a mage student can ask for. There is a huge amount of 5000 Erz per month that can be used for anything the student d.e.s.i.r.e, as long as it is relevant for their studies.

"If that's the case, then follow me!", the girl insisted on her guidance, so Sun simply followed her to a back room.

"Master, there is someone here to test his Element affinity!", she said loudly.

"Oho, a student?", an elderly lady answered.

...

"Sit down please, young boy."

"Okay"

...

"Now, you want to know your Element, right?"

"Yes."

"Then, place your hand over mine. I'll be the medium, but you need to concentrate on your spiritual magic, otherwise, it would be impossible for me to detect your Element, you understand?", she explained.

"Yes.", Sun closed his eyes and started to get into deep meditation. During his trance-like state, the voice of the elderly woman sounded inside Sun's head.

"Now, travel deeper...", she commanded and Sun followed her instructions.

"Boy, imagine your emotions, what do you see?", Sun tried to express his emotions by colors and a strange colored light was emitted from the center of Sun's trance-state body.

"What is this? I've never seen it before. Wait - could this be the rumored?", the elderly lady could not assign an Element to Sun's trance color. This color was glowing in a strange way, it almost doesn't look like color, more like a mixture - but neither white or black. At this moment, the elderly woman thought, that maybe, maybe it could be...

"Could this be? ... It only happened three times in the history of Ethers - the Esperia Mages. This must be... without a doubt... the Legendary All-Element Element - Goddess Tear!!!"

"Boy, you are a very lucky one and I see a bright future ahead of you!"

"Madam, what is my Element?", Sun asked curiously.

"It's Goddess Tear! Remember that!", she said very passionately.

"Goddess Tear? What is that?", Sun asked since the term 'Goddess Tear' did not help with the explanation.

"That is something I can't tell you. You need to find it out yourself.", the elderly lady answered.

Up until now, the lady has experienced many surprising things in her life, but this one was her most surprising one. She already lived for a long time and saw a blink of the fate string Sun was hanging on. That alone was enough for her to see, that Sun needs to find the function of his Element out himself. She realized that it may be tough since there were no real doc.u.ments explaining the Goddess Tear, so she gave him a little advice before Sun left.

"Remember to try yourself out sometime.", she said.

"Huh, what is that supposed to mean?", Sun thought and scratched the back of his head.

"Now, then, I believe it's already time for you to return to school?", the elderly lady said.

Sun looked in the corner of his eye and realized that he got 10 minutes before the meetup. If he won't hurry then he'll be late.

"Crap, you're right. Sorry but I need to leave really fast!!", Sun said and was ready to run, but he was held back by the girl from before. She held her hand out and gave him a gaze.

"Where is the payment?", she glared at him as if he was the manifestation of pest.

"Oh, Chi, don't worry. It's on the house.", the voice of the elderly woman could be heard.

"Tsk, don't come back!", the girl shouted at Sun as he was tightening his steps to be punctual before the meetup.

"You may not have realized it yet ... But in the near future ... you must prepare yourself.", the elderly lady thought about Sun.

"Maybe it's time to teach my last disciple ...", she thought.

"Oh, there he is!", Veronica spotted Sun first and waved with her arm at him.

"Oi, you're late!", Evan shouted.

"Dude, what have you been up to?", Kurt asked.

The endless chattering could be heard as Edward, Evan and the others spotted Sun running towards them. As Sun was nearing them, a light breeze hit his forehead and Sun thought about how lucky he is and decided to cherish his youth at Esperia Magic School.

"They are all such nice people! I will protect them no matter what!", Sun thought. It was his first time experiencing this much happiness and friendship that he may actually start to cry.

"We've been waiting for you for ages!", Veronica joked and put her hands behind her back.

"Dude!!! You need to tell us what you did! Did you do some sightseeing?", Evan asked.

"Man, maybe you scouted for some hot chicks around here and got late because of that?", Edward asked shamelessly.

"No, of course not!"

"Ohh, that would make sense Edward!", Veronica said.

"NO, don't believe this guy - he's gay!"

"Huh - I'm not - stop accusing me!"

"Hehe"

Everyone started to laugh, but the did not realize that they were being watched the entire time.

There were two figures standing on the clock tower behind the group.

"Mirage, doesn't this remind us of the old days?", an awfully high pitched voice asked the other figure.

"Ah, sure it does. It makes me want to protect this scene by any means.", Mirage answered while making a bitter face.

"Ah, the sweet sides of youth ... I will make sure that you'll never go through the same thing we've gone through... Marie...", the other party got nearer and patted Mirage on his head.

"So you still haven't let go of her...", the other party also made a bitter and sad face.
