Goddess Freya?

TL/ED: Bogdi

Asuka looked into Toru’s eyes with an upbeat expression.

Her large eyes glittered with mischief.

“The next time I have a regular exam, I’m going to be the one to beat Chika Konoe. I’m going to beat Chika Konoe fair and square in the next regular exam! And I’ll be crowned student body president of the high school!”

“You sound like a villain.”

“That’s rude. The villain is Chika Konoe, and I’m on the side of justice!”

Toru chuckled.

“Konoe-san is not doing anything wrong.”

“But doesn’t that ‘I’m a perfect person’ look make you look like a villain?”

“Oh, well, maybe.”

Chika has become dry since she entered junior high school. Chika is kind to everyone, but her cold attitude is sometimes antagonistic.

But when she was young, she was different. Chika’s face would change from time to time, and she always seemed to be enjoying herself.

One of the reasons for Chika’s change was Toru. But there is no way Asuka could have known that.

“In addition……”

Asuka folded her arms and stared at Toru.

“In addition?”

When Toru asks back, Asuka looks down and whispers.

“I think that Chika is a bad person for not taking care of such a good childhood friend.”

“A good childhood friend, me?”

Toru was surprised and pointed at himself. Asuka nodded her head.

For the time being, Asuka knows, that me and Chika have become distant. However, I have never explained why properly, and I could not explain it.

So, from Asuka’s point of view, it might appear that the excellent Chika had unilaterally given up on Toru.

But that’s not the case.

(It’s my own fault that Chika and I don’t get along anymore.)

“Well, thank you. But you know, Sakurai-san, ……”

Asuka blushed and mumbled, “Forget about that,” as she wondered how to explain herself.

“I’m not sure how to explain it. I’ll make her tears of frustration distort her clear face!”

“I think Sakurai-san is the villain after all.

Toru’s words make Asuka’s cheeks swell.

“Which side are you one, mine or Chika’s!?”

“I’m rooting for you, Sakurai-san.”

Toru answered without hesitation.

To boldly challenge the absolute strong woman, when you cannot win no matter how many times you try. Toru liked that attitude of Asuka’s.

How good it would have been if I could have done so too.

“I see. Thank you. I’ll have to beat Chika for Renjo’s sake.”

Asuka smiled in satisfaction.

At that moment, I felt a gaze from afar. When I turned around, I saw strong, determined eyes glaring at me and Asuka from their place in the hallway of the classroom.

The one who was glaring at Toru and Asuka was Aino. Her beautiful eyes, like blue sapphires, were clearly pointed at us.

And on that neat face, a very moody expression floats. It’s quite different from the usual calm look in the classroom.

However, as soon as her gaze collided with Toru’s, Aino’s white cheeks flushed and she looked away.

It seems that Asuka also noticed Aino’s suspicious behavior as well.

“Renjo-kun, what did you do to Luthi-san?”

“I haven’t done anything. Do you think a mediocre person like me has something to do with her?”

I’ll keep silent about the fact that I met her at the bookstore yesterday. I have no intention of hiding anything from Asuka.

However, for Aino, it may be something she wants to keep secret. It is possible that she is embarrassed because she almost fell off a step stool while trying to get a book and was rescued by …….

But Asuka narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

“But she’s been staring at …… Renjo-kun since morning.

“Is that so?”

I didn’t notice that.

I wondered if it was because of yesterday’s incident.

Asuka will see Toru as a jerk.

“Absolutely something happened.”

“Is it possible that you are being stared at for no reason?”

“I don’t think so. It is unusual for that lonely goddess to be concerned about others like this.”

Sure, that’s right.

Aino stands out anyway. As a blonde-haired, blue-eyed Scandinavian beauty, it is only natural that she attracts attention in the classroom.

And she is always reading a book by herself with a straight face. Aino is like Chika in the sense that she is cool, but unlike Chika, who always has a lot of friends, Aino is never interested in anyone.

She is always alone. If Aino is interested in Toru, it’s no wonder that Asuka will be interested. Rather, I feel that other classmates are also glancing at this situation.

(I don’t want to stand out as much as possible, but I’m in trouble …)

It’s Toru’s motto to spend his days in peace and avoid trouble. It’s a good idea to avoid becoming the center of attention by getting involved with that special blonde-haired, blue-eyed goddess.

While I was thinking this, I was vaguely looking at Aino when Asuka tapped me on the shoulder. And Asuka said with a somewhat dissatisfied look on her face.

“Luthi-san is a beautiful girl. Unlike me.”

Toru thought that Asuka would be more than enough, to be called a beautiful girl, but I won’t say it.

Toru says instead.

“I’m not interested in Luthi-san”

“Really? She’s so cute! She has a beautiful face like an idol, and it’s petite and her style is surprisingly good.”

“Yeah, I guess so.”

“Anyway, with her mysterious appearance, it’s no wonder she’s so popular. Maybe Chika Konoe can’t beat her in terms of looks alone.”

“Well, I guess Finnish girls would be rare.”

“I heard some boys call her Freya the Goddess.”

Toru tilted his head at Asuka’s mumbling.

“Freya?”

“Don’t you know? Goddess of love and gold in Norse mythology. I think it’s the perfect nickname for her name and hair color. Luthi is Finnish, and Finland is Scandinavia.”

(TLN: The fact that Finland is a scandinavian country is debatable)

“No, I know the goddess Freya, but Norse mythology is not Finnish mythology.”

“What? Is that so?”

” I think there’s an epic poem called “Kalevala” and it’s supposed to be an old Finnish myth.”

Toru remembered the knowledge he had read in some book.

Among the Scandinavian countries, Finland seems to have a different old tradition than Sweden and Norway.

{TLN: THEY DO MY BOY DENMARK LIKE THAT!}

I don’t know the names of the Finnish gods, but at least the goddess Freya should have nothing to do with Finland.

So it’s strange to compare Aino, who is Finnish, to Freya.

“You know a lot of strange things, don’t you, Renjo-kun?”

Asuka said in a voice of admiration.

“It’s not a big deal,” Toru replied, shrugging his shoulders.

It’s not a big deal, but it’s a good idea to keep Aino out of the conversation for a little while longer.

However, Toru was naive to think so.

He noticed that his surroundings were buzzing.

Asuka in front of him also looked behind him and froze before he knew it.

Fearfully, Toru turned around and saw a very petite girl standing there, looking down at him with blue eyes.

She looked down at him with blue eyes, her cheeks reddening, and whispered.

“Renjo-kun … I have something to talk about with you during today’s lunch break. Why don’t you eat with me?”
