Chapter 58 - IT'S ALWAYS HER

"Jun…" Her voice was shaking. "I don't want to be safe, I want to be with you and I don't want be anywhere except next to you."

The night seemed so long when for the first time since they were marriage two years ago, Qianru stood up for herself and told him what she really wanted.

She had always been an obedient wife for him before, because he had told her his real intention for their marriage even before the wedding ceremony was held. Despite Xiao Jun gave her a choice to reject the idea, she still boldly attached herself to him.

Qianru wanted nothing except be with him and she had known this since they were young.

And now, when finally their relationship have a little progressed, how she could let the chance flew away?

"You promised me to take me with you before. You promised me that you willing to try, to give a chance for our relationship to grow, but how can we do that if we are separated?" Qianru bit her lips when she continued. "Died? I should have died that night if you were not there."

With the mentioned of that dreadful night, bitter memories flew back in her head and flashed in her eyes as they couldn't contain the bitterness, tears were streaming down her cheeks.

Xiao Jun pulled her into a hug while c.a.r.e.s.sing her back soothingly.

"Forgive me…" Xiao Jun whispered.

"Qianru… I am sorry." Xiao Jun bit back the guilty that rose up. "I have made your life misserable…"

"No." Qianru shook her head vigorously. "I am the one who chose to be with you and I am aware with the consequences. But, don't push me away again. It's hard for me to see you bear all of it alone."

Something was wrong with Xiao Tianyao and now, Xiao Jun was really all alone. How she could let him be, especially at time like this.

They comforted each other in silence embrace for sometime before Xiao Jun talked weakly. "Do you think all of this will over?"

Xiao Jun rested his chin on Qianru's shoulder while he stared at the distant moon through the open window.

He maybe a man with many battle experience, wickedness and schemes on his head, but he was still human and sometime he felt down and tired with all of this dreadful event that happened in his life.

The harsh of reality out there forced him to straighten up his back no matter awful his life could be.

But, it was Qianru, the woman who had known him for many years, who has always been by his side.

The moment he lost his parents, it was her who had accompanied him. When he was dethrone as the Crown Prince, it was her who offer a consoled and when he made her life difficult and put her in a mess of power struggle, she was still willing to accept him.

Why he had not realized it until now?

"Everything will be over, you just need more time to make it work." Qianru replied softly, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Can you tell me that everything will be alright?" It was only in front of her that he felt safe enough to truly put his guard down and somehow he was fine to show her his weakness and it have always been like this whenever he was with her.

The comfort that he felt from her, was all it take for him to say everything that had weighted him down.

"It will be alright." Smiling softly, Qianru c.a.r.e.s.sed his back. "Everything would be alright. We will make it through all of this together."
