The Summoner And Contractor System

Firstly, I'd like to apologize for the lack of chapters, and more importantly, the lack of any update. I should've given an update regarding my "disappearance" and "going off the grid," as it was irresponsible on my part to leave everyone hanging. For that, I'm sorry, and I'm further sorry that I can't really make up for it too much.

For those who have read my story, I appreciate it and understand if you are upset about my lack of updates. I'll try and improve myself, giving updates if I require time away from writing. I understand my reason for not updating isn't acceptable, but I'll, at the least, give an overview for those who want to know.

Peak season at work is now over with the endings of the holidays, so I should have Saturdays and Sundays free from work, except from studying for midterms in school. And with my current free time, I'm reworking through my previously written chapters and fixing any possible implications.

Such implications include the leveling system, mainly regarding different tiers. I'm removing the idea of Ability and Innate Talent Ranks," as their existence is honestly causing some problems with progression in the story. And to be honest, I'm worried that with the way I've been leveling the skills, it'll just turn into random leveling with the help of missions. Thus, I need to seriously reconsider such problems before they grow more prevalent throughout the story.

As for the other ranking groups, I'm reconsidering them. For example, the subject of the shop and credits. This specific subject doesn't irk me too much, and I might not even change the value or the split of Syndicate and Spatial Credits.

For the previous chapters, I'm reworking through and fixing any mistakes I notice, as well as ideas that don't quite make sense, before continuing with more chapters. Some ideas I may not rework, but will take advice of for the future. For instance, Passwortknacker pointed out that the realization/epiphany situations should be more difficult. I agree that I had an oversight on the difficulty such an event, or could at the least offer a proper explanation within the chapter to explain why he was able to sort out his d.e.s.i.r.es. For instance, offering the explanation of how his soul, mind, and heart were affected when he was in an ethereal form and experienced a tempering through reincarnation.

Another matter that I've taken notice of (@Passwortknacker for pointing out my oversight) was on chapter 5, about the idea of soul contracts and having an army of summons having their life binded together. I'm currently rethinking over this matter and looking for a solution before straying to deep.

Lastly, not sure how to exactly address this matter. Well, I've seen quite a few comments, pointing out that the relationship between Rentaro and Wilhelm seems a bit too intimate. I don't mean to make it seem that way, and didn't consider that them considering each other as "Lil' Bro" and "Big Bro" would cause such a misunderstanding. Would "Senior Brother' and "Junior Brother" be more befitting to their situation?

Once again, I'm sorry for the lack of updates and chapters. And for the time being, I won't be uploading any new chapters until I get the beginning bit sorted out, while I'm also sorting out a more stable plot for the story to transition into.
