The Survival of an Inferior

Corpses of goblins and orcs are liberated all around forsaken civilisation. Almost half of the goblins' and orcs' territory is in a shamble, filled with craters, trenches and holes.

Markov stands amidst the chaos drenched crimson and bloody. His right eye is slashed three times by Gnokz. 

But Gnokz isn't in a good condition either, his left arm was blown off by Markov's destructive punch. 

"Pesky vermin, why won't you stay still?" Markov says.

"I can say the same about your endurance," Gnokz replies. 

"ENOUGH!" a powerful deep voice echoes the realm.

Markov and Gnokz click their tongue and look away from one another. 

A tall, muscular grey demon with large black wings descends from above. His wings have holes in them. 

"Fools! Why are you fighting with each other?!" The demon says. 

"I apologize, your majesty," says Gnokz.

The grey demon is the "king" of the dungeon, Jared Gon Maus Fire, the tenth son of the demon lord. He was banished away into the ancient city for being weak. The demon lord then promises Jared's freedom if he can kill every intruder for the next 10000 years.

The 10000 years period was about to end and something like this happens. 

"I cannot let everything go to waste." Jared thought and glares at Markov. 

"What absurd foolery is this? If an intruder comes we would have a major disadvantage!!" Jared says.

Markov stubbornly stays silent.

Suddenly, a red demon zooms across the sky to Jared.

"Raul? What are you doing here-"

"My apologies, Sir Jared. I've received reports of a human intruder in the prison. For the time being, Lucy is apprehending the human." says Raul.

Markov throws a glance at Gnokz who returns the gaze. Markov scratches his head in embarrassment and looks away.

Jared gaze at Markov and a thought came to mind. Kastro has the key to the portal...and he was killed by the human.

!!!!!!!!

Jared jolts and mumbles "The mine...The human is at the mine!!!" He exclaims.

*BOOM!* 

A gust of wind launches Jared back to the castle, pushing everything away.

"Damn it! No no no! How did that monkey get into the prison undetected?!!!" Jared mumbles. He bashes into the castle and the door behind the throne room. The door leads to the first floor of the prison.

*Bam!* 

...

*PSSSSSSST!!!!* 

I dug the pickaxe into a spot and the trapped methane within burst out. 

Phew... I wipe the sweat on my forehead with my arm and look at the lantern. 

Slight headache and nausea invade my body, which means that the methane level in the air is very high right now, obstructing oxygen. 

Now, for the last step...

I take the lantern from the wall and throw it on the floor, the fire within spreads to the ground.

*BOOOOOOM!!!* 

Jared smashes down into the mine from above. I smile at Jared with the escape ticket in hand. 

"You are too late," I say with a huge grin and tear the escape ticket.

"NOOOO!" Jared cries out.

My body disappears into a blue mist.

Jared starts to shiver as Demon Raul flies down the hole created by Jared.

"Fuck fuck! R-Run!!" Jared exclaims to Raul.

The atmosphere quickly catches fire from the broken lantern creating a raging fiery tornado.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!* 

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!* 

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM* 

Multiple eruptions of hell descended upon the dungeon. The concentrated mana became fuel for the fire, further encouraging nature's pyromancy. The tremors break the foundation of the cliff, setting off a landslide down a slope and forcing the entire dungeon down into the green gas void.

"Samuel! Samuel!" Kate cries out. 

It's cold...again.

Opening my eyes, I can make out Kate's blurry face. Beneath my head is something soft...her thigh?

"Ngh..." I rub my eyes and pull myself up. Kate helps me up but I refuse. 

"You need help more than me," I say.

We are back in the snowy forest. In the distance, I can hear galloping. 

I turn my attention to Kate and grab her shoulder. 

"Are you a mage? Can you cast ice magic?" I ask.

Kate nods. 

"I'm sorry to ask you this at your current state but I need you to cast a big-scale magic. Doesn't matter what, we just need to get their attention." I say.

Led was about to say something but Kate stops him. She smiles and nods. 

With her frail body, she gathers mana around her hand.

"Ice Spike!" she says. A big magic circle appears beyond us and a giant pointy ice ejects out into the sky. 

"Ack!?" Kate spits out some blood.

Led and I went ahead to help her. 

"Thank you, you can rest now," I say. 

Kate nods and falls asleep.

I carry her on my back even when Led objects to it. 

"Neighhhhhh!!" A horse cries out near.

We went to check it out to see some horses and knights with crests belonging to the Everlasting Knights. 

The knights look at us and widen their eyes in shock. "Y-You..." a knight says.

I smile and say "Samuel Turner sir, Trainee Knight." 

The commander wearing golden armour looks back and waves his hand at the people behind him. "Captain, we have the noble and her butler here. Also...uhm...it's best if you see the situation yourself."

A woman from afar rides her white horse into sight, black hair completely contrasting the snow. She wears silver armour with a lining of blue at the edge and an elegant cold aura.

However, her mouth drops and eyes open wide when she sees me with Kate and Led. She is Rena, the protagonist of this game.

"How are you..." Rena says.
