Arrival in the Royal Capital [Part 2]

Now then, just what exactly happened to the family on their way to the Royal Capital?

To be precise, what exactly did Emma do?

That was none other than a massive increase in the number of insects during their journey.

“I mean, if I heard that there’s an insect I couldn’t see in Palace, of course I would want to collect and observe it, wouldn’t I?”

Emma was a girl who loved insects.

She wasn’t a child who could control her obsession with insects and behave well just because she was in the middle of a trip.

She was a natural-born problem child who would take her net if she heard there was a rare butterfly in the east and would grab her shovel and rush out if she heard there was a swarm of large earthworms in the west.

From Palace in the south to the Royal Capital in the north.

The family ended up making multiple detours and zigzagging their way west and east on a journey that should have been straight.

And that happened over and over again.

Even her willful requests that would usually be dismissed were all fulfilled because the scars Emma got on her right cheek to her right upper body from the monster disaster a year ago had clouded her parents’ judgment.

If it hadn’t been for the three siblings’ mother, Melsa’s excellent decision to let the servants and the carriage with their luggage go first at the beginning of their detours, let alone the beds for insects, they might not have had a place to sleep last night.

The three siblings’ childhood friend, Joshua, who traveled together with them, persisted in going with the family until the end, but because he was a merchant’s son, a lot of work awaited him at the store. So he had no choice but to tearfully part with the family… or rather, with Emma and get on the carriage that was going to head first to the Royal Capital.

The next morning after the family finally arrived at the Royal Capital late at night.

Everyone in the family originally wanted to take it easy to alleviate their fatigue from the trip, but as the price for messing up their schedule so badly, they were now working busily.

Melsa was running to and fro to interview the newly hired servants in the Royal Capital mansion and single-handedly took charge of all kinds of miscellaneous matters in their new home.

Leonard was tailoring Emma’s dress for tonight at high speed.

The three siblings were busy taking care of silkworms, the source of raw materials for silk fabric, the main industry of Palace, and the insects that had increased a lot in number along their journey.

Such a Stuart family was a genuine Count aristocrat who owned the borderland Palace as their territory.

Their bustling figure from early morning was far from the elegant image of nobles, but the people themselves weren’t aware of it at all.

This family was a rare existence where every member had inadvertently reincarnated together. In their previous life, they were the extremely mediocre, ordinary, and the very embodiment of normal [Tanaka family].

Around a year ago, the family ate matsutake mushrooms growing in their garden and recalled their previous life memories. The deliciousness of the product of nature, matsutake mushroom, was just that shocking.

For a family that used to be a commoner among commoners, living in the Royal Capital with a lot of nobles felt burdensome. What was especially worrying was the Stuart family’s eldest daughter [Emma], a girl who had been pretty eccentric from the beginning.

As the result of [Emma] fusing with the memories of the Tanaka family’s eldest daughter [Minato], she became a terribly dangerous problem child… who would cause a commotion every few steps she took.

Around a great detective, accidents happened.

In a world with a hero, a Demon King existed.

Wherever Emma was, commotions occurred.

Even in an isolated land like the borderland, Emma had caused that much commotion. There was no way she wouldn’t cause any in the Royal Capital, the center of the Kingdom.

Surprisingly, four cats that had been the Tanaka family’s pets for successive generations foresaw the family’s reincarnation and decided smartly to reincarnate too before turning huge. After waiting for some time in this new world, the cats were finally reunited with their beloved family.

These beloved cats were currently patrolling around their new residence.

The Stuart family’s new house in the Royal Capital covered a vast land that would be more than enough for the big cats to run around. Each of the four cats was eager to find their favorite place.

“George-sama, Emma-sama, William-sama. Melsa-sama is calling for you. She asked you to come to the drawing room in the west wing when it’s convenient…”

Emma’s handmaid, Martha, who the family took along to the Royal Capital, called the three siblings from outside the door.

She was bad with insects, so she definitely would never enter the building designated to be the new [Emma’s Shed], which used to be the servants’ residence and now turned into the exclusive building for insects.

Martha was a valuable human resource because she was the only one besides Melsa who could scold Emma.

“Got it, Martha. Thanks!”

The three siblings thanked Martha in unison and hastened to finish their respective work.

Seeing the three siblings like that, Martha couldn’t help but think about what she should do with them.

This was the Royal Capital.

…Normal noble young masters and young ladies wouldn’t go out of their way to thank a maid, and taking care of insects was totally out of the question for them. Yet, no one here pointed out the three siblings’ unusual behaviors.

The silkworm larvae that William and George moved enthusiastically were abnormally large at 50 centimeters in length, but no one here retorted on that either.

With Emma as the cover, George and William’s quirkiness wasn’t very obvious, but Martha thought that the older and younger brothers were actually pretty weird too. ‘Though the people themselves didn’t realize it at all.
