TTPC Ch. 1: Transmigrating Into A Different World

“Yi’r, this is the pharmacopoeia handed down by our ancestors and the treasure of the Lin Family. Now that it has been passed down to you, you must protect it well.”

His dad sat on a hospital bed, handing the thick pharmacopoeia into his hands.

……

“Lin Yi, your dad has already passed away and the company has also closed down. No one can afford to pay for your expensive medicine every day. You should quickly leave the hospital and rest at home, okay?”

“Lin Yi, did your dad give you the pharmacopoeia?! Hand it over right now, it’s not something you can have!”

“Otherwise, if you don’t want to hand it over, then don’t even think about living here!”

“You are waste! Handing over such a big house to you is to squander it away! You don’t deserve to live here, so scram!”

……

He struggled desperately; he argued with those people and wanted those filthy doves that wanted to occupy the magpie’s nest to leave his home. No one was allowed to touch the things left by his dad, but his disabled body couldn’t move at all. He could only watch helplessly as those people entered his home, overturned all the trunks and boxes inside, and snatched away all things valuable.

In the past, in front of him and his dad, they wore a facade of gentle and loving faces, but now they all looked like hideous evil spirits.

He hated these people. He would never allow them to snatch away the most important thing his dad left him. He would rather die with it.

He tricked those people into his father’s study, locked them in by pressing the bedside switch, then climbed out of bed, crawled into the kitchen little by little, ignited the gas inside, and burned the whole Lin Family and those filthy people together until they all perished as one.

The violent explosion sounded off like a celebratory salvo, and everything was rid of.

……

……

The feeling of his body alternating between hot and cold was indescribably uncomfortable. In one moment, it was like he was trapped in a world of ice and snow, but in the next, it felt like he was burning in a raging inferno. His limbs were sore and heavy as if weighed down by thousands of catty, unable to be lifted even with all of his effort.

But hadn’t he already died? What was going on?

“Give me the medicine! Throwing yourself into the pond? Trying to die?! It won’t be that easy!”

Suddenly there was a sharp female voice.

His chin was roughly pinched, painful enough to make him sweat. His mouth was forced open, and medicine so bitter that it made people want to retch was rudely poured in. He choked, and heart-rending coughs tore through his lungs. His head ached so much it felt like it was about to explode, but still, he was unable to open his eyes. All he could hear was that woman’s sharp voice incessantly cursing in a rage.

“Pour another dose! You must pour the medicine, or else I’ll pull you good for nothing’s out and sink you in the pond! Pour it again! Now!”

Once again, the smelly and bitter concoction was poured into his mouth. A thick and stuffy quilt lay over his body, making Lin Yi feel like he was in a steamer, and even the breath he exhaled was hot enough to scare a person. He tried to figure out what was going on, but the surging sleepiness pulled him back into a dark dreamland.

It was a strange dream, but from it, Lin Yi learned about his current circumstances.

He was now on a mainland called Fengtian, where the people here could cultivate through forming a bond with a spiritual being. The cultivation realms were divided into seven levels: Spiritualist, Spiritual Master, Spiritual General, Spiritual King, Spiritual Emperor, Spiritual Sovereign, and Spiritual Saint.

Before someone could begin cultivating, they must first test whether they can awaken the primordial soul in their body. Only those who can successfully awaken their primordial soul can form a bond with a spiritual being. The higher the level of the spirit that is bonded, the greater its own potential and the higher its future achievements could be.

In order to awaken their primordial soul, one must drink the Spirit Awakening Water from the Pharmacists Hall. Only the Spirit Awakening Water could awaken a person’s primordial soul.

In addition, the medicinal pills made by pharmacists were also a necessary means to aid in cultivation. Therefore, pharmacists were a crucial existence in Fengtian.

The Lin Family was a family of pharmacists located in the southern part of the Fengtian Mainland. There were ten pharmacists in the family, all of which held a post in the Pharmacists Hall. Therefore, their Lin Family was one of the most powerful families in Woyun City. The previous owner of his current body was a concubine-born son of the Lin Family.

Coincidentally, the owner of this body was also called Lin Yi. Before the age of eight, he was a famous genius and was highly valued by the elders of the Lin Family. But who could have known that he would abruptly contract a sudden illness that rendered his eyes blind and turn a genius into useless waste? His treatment in the Lin Family plummeted, and he became an abandoned son, being of no interest to anyone. The previous owner thought he would simply live quietly for the rest of his life, but a month before, he was suddenly betrothed by the Lin Family to Pei Xuanqing, the eldest grandson of the Pei Family in Woyun City. Although the original owner was reluctant to marry into the Pei Family, he knew that he could not refuse and could only wait quietly for marriage.

Who could know that when he went out to get some fresh air that day, he would be pushed into the cold pond and almost drown…

No, it should be said that the original owner did drown, and the one being saved now was himself, Lin Yi.

……

After quietly digesting all that information, Lin Yi was shocked in his heart, not understanding how he obviously should have died in that explosion yet had traveled to another world.

But no one wants to be dead if they can be alive.

He quickly adjusted his mentality and summarized the key information: This was a different world where one could cultivate, he was a blind man, and he was going to be marrying another man as his wife.

Translator’s Note

Hello everyone! As you can see, I’ve begun translating a new novel. A few notes to keep in mind is that I myself have not finished this novel (I’m in the 200’s), I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to keep up the motivation to post, but I’m going to try to keep a weekly schedule. Please don’t blame me if I am late in posting, as I am a working adult and I do burn out and have other matters to attend to than worry about translating! Remember, I am doing this for fun and for your enjoyment!

I will be trying to keep footnotes at a minimum, but I will footnote certain things. I’m writing this under the impression that this isn’t your first cultivation novel. If it is, please do your own research if you’re confused.

I hope everyone has read the main translation page, as there is an additional translator’s note there to keep in mind of. I’m not to blame if you don’t read the notes there, here, and in future chapters. Your ignorance is not my fault.

Either way, a second chapter is incoming since this one is so small! Chapters 1 through 42 are relatively shorter chapters, but once we move into the pay-to-read chapters, chapter 43 and from then on to the end, will average around 3050 words if I had to guess (via glancing at the word counts), with some chapters being longer sprinkled in here and there.

I hope you enjoy the book! Please support the author, links to the RAWs can be found at the top of this post as well as the translation page, along with the links to the Novel Updates page and a page that includes a Character Guide, Location Guide, and Cultivation Guide!
