The Treasure She Never Asked For

Chapter 102 - Finding Inspiration.

The character that he was going to play was named Michael who had a very deep and wild relationship with the protagonist of the movie.

The two of them grew up in very bad circumstances where his mother was suffering from addiction and an absentee father. While she only had her father to take care of her because her mother had died giving birth to her.

They grew up in the same neighbourhood and when circumstances became even more difficult; he ended up being a part of the cartel he was working with.

This organisation was already rampant in their city and because of their difficult circumstances, the female lead's father was already working for it, but ended up getting killed by looters when transporting some drugs. His death was so unexpected, but the FL was able to adjust quickly because she was already in a relationship with him.

On the other hand, his own drug addict mother had overdosed and died later after he moved out of their home because of how much her overall character had deteriorated and become depraved because of her addiction.

It was obvious that these people were already running their city, but she paid it no mind until when her first love was killed after being framed for stealing millions from the cartel. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. The girl who had been determined to live a clean life took on the role of a vigilante and promised to exact revenge and bring down the whole cartel.

His character was a rebel with a very unpredictable temper, so he was crazy in love with the main character to the point they could be described as being obsessed with each other.

He knew that he only had a shallow understanding of the character so far and that he had to read the script a few more times and research the setting to properly empathise with the character. He left their room to go downstairs to make himself some breakfast. When he opened the refrigerator, he saw that the staff had restocked it, so he happily took out ingredients to make himself a sandwich.

The housemates came downstairs one by one to fix their own breakfast, which mostly consisted of some kind of protein shake, a coffee or some smoothie.

After fixing himself something to eat, Marcel sat in front of the large screen as he carefully searched for the first three recommended films that he had received from Avian. He was free to do so because he was the only one in the living room, anyway.

Soon, Adrian came downstairs as well and made a beeline for the kitchen. They only greeted each other casually since they both had something on their minds.

After another ten minutes, Adrian joined Marcel in the living room with a cup of coffee. Marcel had just started watching the first movie on the list.

"You haven't seen this movie?" Adrian asked when he saw the familiar opening scene.

"Not yet," Marcel answered honestly as he took a sip of his milk.

"It won quite a number of awards two years ago. That girl became a first-tier celebrity almost instantaneously.

"Really?" Marcel asked, and paid even more attention to the movie.

"Yeah, that guy's popularity also skyrocketed. He joined Big Star recently," Adrian continued and Marcel, who had been paying attention to the screen, finally turned to look at him. It looked like Adrian was more ambitious than he let on. He had obviously done a lot of research and stayed up to date with what was going on in the industry.

"Here, have a sandwich. Won't that hurt you if you take it on an empty stomach?" Marcel asked as he gestured at the plate that had sandwiches in front of him.

"Is it okay?" Adrian asked as he studied Marcel's expression to make sure he wasn't just being polite.

"Mmmh, I made too much, so feel free," Marcel said as he, too, took one and munched on it.

"Then, if you'll excuse me," Adrian said and took one sandwich.  .

"You're so polite, someone could learn from you," Marcel commented with a smile.

"Huh?" Adrian responded with a puzzled expression that made Marcel smile even wider. Marcel didn't even have to respond because Alistair, who had come downstairs, had already come to rob him of a sandwich before he disappeared into the kitchen. He used to be so detached, now he treated him like a younger brother.

Marcel did not have to say anything. Adrian understood his meaning immediately and just silently ate the sandwich with a smile on his face.

Marcel didn't look so serious when he was watching the movie, but he was taking in each and every expression of the characters on screen. He became even more focussed when the main couple had started kissing and their interactions getting more and more heated by the second. He had even moved forward a bit as if he was trying to get closer to the tv screen.

He was mostly paying attention to the actor's performance because their actions were quite rough and impatient and he was unsure how he would express that with his current identity.

Marcel watched as the man on the screen held the female lead's hands in one hand and pinned them on the wall behind her before roughly raising her leg over one of his shoulders. He kissed her deeply before his body started moving against hers.

They did not show anything, but the movements already let the audience know what was happening. The atmosphere between the two characters was so heated that even Marcel couldn't stop his cheeks from heating up a bit. He secretly admired the female lead's flexibility. He had trained a lot in his previous life and knew how difficult it was to hold such a position.

"Are you sure you are old enough to watch this?" Alistair, who had come back and was leaning against the wall, asked Marcel. Marcel, who had been drinking his milk to calm himself down, almost choked on it.

"Heh," Marcel responded plainly and continued to watch. If he was alone, he would have even rewound it to watch it a few more times. If he did it now, they would all think he was a pervert, so he could only restrain himself.

He planned on re-watching some segments later on his ŀȧptop. If he could reward Avian for picking such a good movie, then he would have. Unfortunately, it's impossible. He can only work harder.

"Why did you suddenly decide to watch this movie?" Alistair asked, as he joined them on the sofa.

"For inspiration," Marcel answered plainly. Adrian's eyes widened after hearing his response. Was this where he was finding inspiration for the photoshoot? He couldn't help but ask himself.

"Is it going to be so intense?" Alistair asked, his eyes focussed on the screen.

"I have to do my best. It's my first time acting as someone's lover," Marcel answered, and Alistair nodded in understanding.

These two were talking about the script he had just received, but Adrian's mind had already gone blank from shock. He couldn't help but wonder just how competitive was this young guy to draw inspiration from such an intense movie?
