The Treasure She Never Asked For

Chapter 83 - Beginning The Shoot.

Marcel walked out of the shower while towel drying his hair. He was feeling much more alive and refreshed. He saw Alistair go through the catalogue that he had carelessly tossed on the bed and stopped briefly.

"Is there anything interesting?" Marcel asked as he tried to gauge his reaction. He was not sure on the quality of the brand they were advertising for as they were not given a name in the first place.

"Mmmh, it's pretty good," Alistair responded as he continued to look through the catalogue. Marcel felt a bit optimistic once he heard this, but he needed to get dressed first before he went to look at the catalogue with Alistair.

After getting dressed, Marcel quickly looked through the catalogue and decided that he will browse through it carefully when he was not so hungry.

"I'm starving!" Marcel said and stood up while stretching. When Alistair heard this, he put the catalogue that was shoved in his hands on the bed and followed him to the kitchen. Marcel was the best cook in the house, so he was planning on scrounging an extra serving from him.

He followed Marcel to the kitchen and was basically made the dishwasher as Marcel made a satisfying breakfast. Lauren came in not long after them and Marcel had to make one more serving as he was using meals to compensate her.

Lauren talked to the two men as she watched them get busy while drinking her water. She did not even bother helping because she was the kind of person who would burn down the kitchen from just boiling water. So it was better if she didn't try to grill, fry, or roast anything.

Marcel had gotten better at cooking so his speed was also quite fast. After serving the breakfast in three plates, the three of them went to sit on the dining table to eat. When Chloe, who was dragging Micah around passed by, she also joined them for a chat, Jeremy had also pulled Adrian over for a chat as he was worried that Adrian was being too antisocial.

Everyone had felt that Alistair was too quiet when he first came but it looks like with Marcel's help, he has gradually started opening up more. But Adrian was still as reserved as he had been when he first came, which worried Jeremy at times.

Jeremy would talk to him more, and even when he didn't get a reply, e wouldn't mind. It was better than talking to Nick who made him feel like he was snatching more of his intelligence the longer he talked to him.

They all ended up talking until noon, when Marcel remembered that he had to properly go through the catalogue so that he could reserve the jewellery that he was going to be using the next day for the shoot, he excused himself and went back to the bedroom. Then gradually people left one by one.

Marcel carefully chose what he liked and narrowed the list until he had enough samples left for use the following day.

After that he wrote down the entire plan (script) for tomorrows advert so that proper preparations can be made and went to talk to the production crew once more.

After making sure that they will shoot his ad after Lauren has done hers, Marcel finally had some time to breathe. Now there was nothing else he can really do except for waiting for tomorrow's shoot.

So as not to influence Lauren, he decided to give her the script after her shoot, it was not long, nor was it complicated so it won't really influence her mood while shooting.

After working out again in the evening, Marcel took a shower and slept early. He skipped dinner so he wouldn't be bloated the next day and went to bed early so he would look good the next day.

In no time, Marcel was standing behind the camera the following day watching Lauren shoot her own commercial. He was very impressed by how s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e she was with the camera and how she knew how to showcase the product that she was advertising.

She went for simplicity, he could already tell that her ad would be easy to remember and quite impactful, if the audience resonated with the ad.

Due to it's simplicity, Laurens ad didn't take long to shoot and right after she was satisfied with everything she had already shot, she was taken away by Marcel.

"Eager aren't we?" Lauren joked as she followed Marcel. Because of his request, he had been pushed all the way to the end, so he was going to be the last person shooting his ad.

"How did you know?" Marcel asked as he took her to the side and handed her the script he had prepared the previous day.

"Are you a professional?" Lauren asked as she took the script after glancing at him. God knows she had not even bothered with such details.

"More like a control freak, tell me if you have any questions," Marcel said as he sat down next to Lauren. He casually looked at everyone else prepare for their own shoots with curiosity.

They had all left the house earlier that morning to come to a warehouse where their sets had been prepared. Marcel had already seen the set that he was going to be shooting at and was only satisfied after he rearranged a few things and made some minor adjustments. The director could really feel that he was a control freak from how particular he wanted things to be.

After Lauren went through the script a couple of times and asked a few questions, Marcel took her to where the make up artists were. Since making her features appear more masculine would take some time, Marcel decided to shoot that segment first so that they don't take up too much time when they change again later. They had to change three times during the shoot so it was better to deal with the time consuming things first.

As she did her makeup, Marcel went to start his shoot. He shot the close ups where he was coming from the shower as he waited for Lauren to finish with her makeup. She took such a long time that by the time she was done, all the close up shots focussing on his wrists and neck were already shot.

Lauren went to change her clothes immediately after and marcel replaced her at the make-up table. Marcel smiled at the makeup artist as he handed her a bottle of water and she happily accepted it. She felt rejuvenated even though she had lost count of how many times she had wiped and applied makeup that day.

"I'd get you a juice but that's all I could find, and I don't have my assistants," Marcel said he closed his eyes and let her cleanse his face before applying make-up.

"That's alright, it's not easy for you either," she answered with a wide smile. No one would hate it when a good looking man worried about you.
