The Treasure She Never Asked For

Chapter 88 - Stopping Back Home.

"I want to go pick up Liam for the weekend," Marcel said after a long silence in the van. Julia who was on her phone nodded her head absent mindedly.

"I want to go to the apartment first," Marcel continued and Julia nodded again. It wasn't like she had anything else arranged for him in his schedule so he was free to do as he liked.

"Stop by the company first. You should atleast say hi to Mr. Matteo," Julia said to him and Marcel narrowed his eyes as he looked at her. He knew she did not refer to him as Mr. Matteo in private.

"Okay," Marcel agreed and looked out his window.

"Can you send me your friends' contact information? I might as well take advantage of these two days to get you a few coworkers," Julia said.

Marcel fiddled around with his phone and forwarded everyone's contact information. He did not know who she picked and he had no intentions to interfere.

"Thanks," Julia said and the van was silent once more. If the people back in the house found out that he was so excited to leave just to get this kind of reception, they would have laughed at him.

"Julia," Marcel called and looked at her with eyes filled with interest.

"What is it?" Julia responded as she made a plan on who to meet first.

"Should I get a girlfriend?" Marcel asked with bright eyes. Julia had to stop what she was doing to look at him in surprise.

"You want to date? But it makes sense to want to do so, you are still young," Julia said thoughtfully. She knew that a lot of celebrities had fans that went overboard with how possessive they were with their stars.

"Think about your goals, is it popularity or are you more focussed on your career? If you plan on dating, pick someone who isn't going to bring you down. You can be discreet with them but when you get exposed there shouldn't be much issue, you understand?" Julia asked.

"So it's fine if I date, right?" Marcel asked in confirmation.

"Do what you want, as long as it's not weird or illegal," Julia said nonchalantly. She wasn't worried because most fans of models were easy going, if Marcel was in a boy group, then there would be an issue.

"Okay," Marcel replied with a relaxed smile. Julia looked at him suspiciously and debated on whether or not she should ask more questions.

"Are you interested in any of the girls in the house?" She asked curiously. She knew her artist was a bit eccentric, so she wanted to know who could have possibly drawn his attention.

"It's nothing like that," Marcel answered with an amused expression.

"I just asked incase I meet someone I'm interested in," Marcel continued when he saw her doubtful expression.

"When you start dating make sure you let me know, I hate surprises," Julia said and even glared at him for a bit longer to get the point across.

"Will do," Marcel said, and not long after, they finally arrived at the company.

"As expected, there were no fans in front of the company that day since everyone popular was busy, especially on a Saturday. So for once, Marcel did not have to calculate the safest route to and from the company. .

He got off the van with Julia and followed behind Julia as they walked into the company.

"Has mr. Matteo seen you today?" Marcel asked and Julia shook her head to say no. She had gone to pick him up directly from her place.

Marcel stayed quiet, curious about Damien's reaction upon seeing Julia today.

Julia nodded at Damien's secretary and knocked twice on his door before walking into his office.

Damien looked up from his documents upon Julia's entry and his eyes widened once he saw her. But controlled his expression once Marcel walked in. It didn't matter anyway, Marcel had already seen his silly expression.

"Hi Julia, Marcel," Damien greeted as he took off his glasses and leaned on the back of his office chair.

"Mr. Matteo," Marcel greeted and looked between the two. Damien knew Marcel was aware of their relationship so he wasn't even trying to be subtle with the way he was looking at Julia.

"I just came to say hi, I want to go pick Liam up later so he can spend the night with me," Marcel said and Damien nodded in understanding.

"You two can stop by here tomorrow, I've missed the little rascal," Damien said and Marcel nodded in agreement.

"Well, I'll leave you two alone, I'm going home for a bit before I go pick Liam up," Marcel said and left immediately after. He didn't want to be a lightbulb, he already had enough of that that morning. He was unwilling to participate in such a farce again.

Marcel quickly left the building and got into the van again. His road manager drove him back to the apartment complex and agreed to come pick him up later when he is ready.

Marcel got into the elevator and went up to his floor. He paused for a bit as he tried to remember his password before he unlocked his front door.

His apartment was exactly like he had left it, it only needed to be cleaned and aired out because it had gotten a bit dusty.

Marcel went to change his clothes and started cleaning the house. He felt like Alistair had infected him with his cleanfreak spirit. Although he had to admit that there was a certain satisfaction he got from seeing a clean and neatly arranged space. In short, Alistair had ruined him.

After spending more than an hour cleaning, he threw the bedding in the washing machine and went to take a shower. After he was done he called his road manager and got dressed.

As he was hanging his things out to dry, he received a call from his road manager. He quickly finished up and went downstairs.

His mood was bright as he got into the van and he was already anticipating seeing his baby brother.
