The Ugly Wife of the Shady Duke
Chapter 22.2
“I plan to distribute the first batch of tea bags for free at several restaurants on the island.”
Grace briefly mentioned “several restaurants,” but there were actually many of them. Giving away products for free at so many places would cause a loss from the beginning.
“The type we will be selling is a blend with dried fruits from the start. It’s different from what the restaurants usually serve. Plus, it’s not something people normally buy, they may not be familiar with it and may not buy it if we tell them to.”
Not everyone welcomes unfamiliar products.
The reason the pressed flower soap sold out all at once was that it was a pretty item that was not particularly unique but was popular during the festival’s excitement.
‘For example, if we had sold liquid soap in a bottle or plain paper soap, it might not have sold out.’
However, after distributing samples like this, she was confident that there would be at least one place with a positive response.
“Tea bags are convenient. And it’s also easy to maintain taste consistency as long as the quality of the tea leaves is maintained.”
Compared to busy restaurants, tea bags were simple and convenient.
What does the restaurant’s reputation have to do with it when there is a good product that can increase the turnover rate and save the budget?
Restaurants are businesses. They don’t operate by digging up land and making money.
The quality of the tea leaves was improved by mixing in dried fruits or flower petals, and the restaurants Grace was aiming for were not located in a noble area.
Grace planned to distribute samples only to restaurants that were mainly used by commoners. They had never had the opportunity to taste the highest quality tea leaves in their lifetime, so there was no need to worry about the quality difference.
“We only need about 7 tea bags per restaurant. Some of the staff can even have a cup of tea with the tea bags we provide.”
They heard the sound of a delivery truck arriving from outside. It was the sound of the requested supplies arriving.
Cleta and the other women were surprised by the size of the huge delivery truck.
“This is not all. We will quickly become busy even if we start trading with only a few restaurants.”
They would have to deliver a large amount of tea bags every day, and they also had to promote the tea bags at new restaurants.
Even if it was unfamiliar, if they kept looking, there was always a chance they would eventually buy it at least once.
Besides, she could help the children while simply buying a cup of tea for herself. This was a complete win.
‘And the water on the island is hard to drink now.’
In the latter half of the original work, Aria left after discovering that the water had a strange taste even though the purification work of the Rondel Canal was completed. It was because of contamination in the western land.
“…Then, shall we go to the textile workshop now? Since I am going alone, would anyone like to come with me?”
Grace planned to create a connection between the textile workshop and the orphanage for insurance purposes.
The women who were gathered reading something raised their heads at Grace’s suggestion.
“Is it okay for anyone to come?”
“I think it would be better if someone who knows about the textiles could come.”
“Doesn’t Marian know about it well?”
Grace looked at the woman called Marian. She had a newspaper in her hand.
“Oh, it’s okay. I wasn’t reading anything important.”
“…Is that the Chatters magazine?”
“Are you interested in it too, Mrs. Linden?”
Grace looked down after gazing at the Chatters magazine.
“No, not really.”
If you had to name the most provocative publication within the empire, it would undoubtedly be Chatters.
It sometimes carried the truth, but most published articles were packaged in provocative language to the world.
“….”
Grace knew this because “Duchess Felton” was often featured in that magazine.
‘It was the same in the novel too.’
“Have you seen the latest issue of Chatters? There was a story about ‘Duchess Felton’ after a long time.”
“To behave in such a way is the only flaw of the Felton family. Even the Duke himself is not exempt.”
“Ah, Saintess, have you ever actually met the Duchess? You used to have conversations with the Duke quite often.”
She wondered if there had been any recent stories, but Grace didn’t have the courage to ask.
