The Very Best

Rowlet's body started to Glow, slowly getting bigger and bigger until the glowing faded. Rowlet evolves into a Dartrix.

She stands one meter tall. Dartrix's plumage is white, but it has brown feathers on her head, shoulders, and back. Its heart-shaped facial disc is also white, and it has black eyes with dark irises that usually seem shut, a stubby beak that has a white upper jaw and orange-dark colored lower jaw, and two short tufts of quills on the back of her head. Two green leaves bend around her face, looking like an asymmetric haircut. The leaf on her right is longer than the one on the left. Under her chin are two smaller leaves that resemble a bow tie, and there are two pointed ones on her rear that formed her tail. Her wings have two tan spots on the upper side and green plumage near the body on the underside. Inside the leaves under her wings are two orange-dark colored items like seeds. Dartrix has orange-dark colored claws with two toes confronting forward and one facing in reverse.

On the side of the arena, Zed clapped his hand once to catch Dartrix's attention.

"Show them how strong you are."

Dartrix yelled a battle cry as she rushed towards Horsea. Her speed was too fast that Horsea is unable to react. Dartrix used Peck aiming at Horsea's abdomen. The impact caused a strong gust of wind before Horsea's body started to fly away, hitting a wall that created a crater.

"Horsea is unable to battle! Dartrix wins!" Even though Daisy was stunned, she manages to regain her mind and announced the winner. It was too fast, and even Misty started to tremble.

"Why? Why are his Pokemons so powerful?" Misty's mind is in chaos right now. She was confident that Horsea could manage to defeat Dartrix without using Ice-type moves. Yes, she got carried away because Dartrix was injured a little. Also, her Horsea has a set if Ice-type moves, but she became arrogant and tried to show the audience how strong she is even without using some Ice-type skills.

Daisy and Lily noticed this and wanted to stop the battle, Misty has only one pokemon left, but they know it will make her lose confidence if Dartrix finishes it in a single blow. Misty returned Horsea in the Pokeball with a blank expression. She then grabs her final Pokemon as her last hope and hoping to win. Misty was about to call out her Dewgong with gritted teeth, but then someone shouted at the entrance.

"Stop, Misty. That is enough."

She has a violet curly hair that reached towards her neck, and her face resembles Misty's. Her name is Violet, the second oldest sister.

Misty then stopped her hand and looked at her sister, as she stared at Violet, her eyes started to moist as she slowly cried.

Yes, Misty is known as a competitive and brave girl. As she grows up, she often losses and being praised by many people that boosted her confidence. But now, Misty experience a straightforward defeat that breaks her heart. She didn't put up much of a fight in front of the people that supported her. She thought she failed them.

Zed looked at her and felt pity, but he doesn't need to say sorry because this is an official battle. He then sighed and walked towards her direction and offered a hand.

Misty looked at him with teary eyes as she slowly grabbed his hands and trying to get up. Zed then patted her head and said.

"Don't feel bad because you lost, to be honest, I envy you. Many people loved you. Look at them."

We know that Zed was famous and rich back on earth. He helped many children and people, but mostly they only Idolize him and admire him. Only his family and close relatives love him.

Misty glanced at the audience then looked at her sisters with teary eyes. Daisy, Violet, and Lily's eyes became moist as well, seeing their tomboy sister crying.

"Be strong because things will get better; you have a bright future ahead of you. At the age of twelve, you became a Gym Leader. Isn't that great?" Misty nodded as she looked down on the ground. Zed squatted to meet her eyes and gently wiped her tears.

"Misty, there is no failure. You either win or learn, It may be stormy right now, but it never rains forever." The moment she heard his words, her tears slowly ended and looked at him.

Misty realized it now, Zed's words hit the mark. She gripped her fist and looked at him while a beautiful and blooming smile appeared on her face.

"Thank you! Thank you for making me realize! This lost made me learn something."

Her sisters approached her, and then they hugged Misty at the same time. The people that were watching started to stand up from their sits and clapped while others wipe their moisten eyes.

Zed was happy about this and hope Misty will become dominant. He knows this young girl has a bright future.

After a few minutes, Daisy announced Zed as the winner. People started to cheer more as they congratulate him by yelling his name.

Zed also realizes that this Pokemon world is different than what he expected. He also felt happy hearing people cheer and congratulate him.

Violet then gave him the Cascade badge. Then, she leaned forward, kissing Zed on the cheeks as thanks for teaching Misty a lesson `roughly.`

Zed was shocked at first, but then he smiled, causing Violet's heart to beat faster. She forgot that the rumors also said that this guy is a devil when he smiles.

She then escaped swiftly at him and approached her laughing sisters staring at her.

Zed then patted Misty's head one last time, saying goodbye to them and left the gym battle.

"His Pokemons are Powerful, but their owner is a devil!" Violet told her sisters with a reddened face as Zed's smiling face still hovering around in her mind.

Outside the Gym, there were still many people congratulated and thanked him for what he taught Misty.

Zed then went back to his hotel room then remembered something.

"Shit, I forgot to buy a phone!"
